This laptop is everything that I could ask for at this price point. Bonus: My gaming buddies are annoyed by how much faster I load into the games we play.

A significant upgrade to the first generation which had a terrible thermal profile and thermal throttling

I purchased this laptop on 11/19/2023 and picked it up on the same day. However, upon returning home and opening the box, I discovered a scratch on the laptop lid. As evident in the following photos, the scratch aligns with the cut in the box. I promptly returned to BestBuy on the same day for an exchange. The GeekSquad member informed me that BestBuy couldn't facilitate the exchange because ASUS packages this specific laptop in the orientation shown in the photo labeled ‘Orientation B’, rather than in orientation A. According to them, it was ASUS's responsibility to exchange the laptop, as their personnel overlooked the scratch and packed it into the box already damaged by the cut. I followed ASUS's RMA process, but even after one month, I still await a replacement unit. Now, let's examine the GeekSquad member's claim that this laptop comes packed with the logo on the laptop lid on the far right side as you open the box, as shown in the photo with the label ‘Orientation B’. This has been proven false by checking the "2023 ROG Zephyrus M16 - Official unboxing video | ROG" on ROG Global's official YouTube channel. At the 0:07 mark, the video clearly shows the logo on the laptop lid on the left side as you open the box. BestBuy sold me a damaged item and refused to provide an exchange, using a fabricated excuse.

Complete piece of junk. Nothing but nonstop overheating, blue screen and crashing issues since day 1. Had to get it repaired under warranty because the fans stopped working and cooked the motherboard, and still have had constant problems. Can’t play any game for more than 30mins without crashing now. Tried a fresh windows install, made sure drivers are updated, ran diagnostics and everything else I could possibly think of. Avoid this product unless you like wasting money

Bought new straight out the box with constant blue screening, a lot of the times its if i touch the laptop the wrong way, unplug my charger typical gaming, even when i just boot it up and have it on the desktop screen. Also with having all my games on low setting it still crashes every so often. Its so frustrating to deal with especially with it being brand new. And asus support is so difficult to contact. My biggest regret is not returning this crap. Most money ive ever wasted.

I love this laptop don't get me wrong but i noticed many flaws overtime. for instance i already got a dead pixel after 3 months of use and screen issues. Its a shame it runs really well even though the fans can get well but for this i cant recommend it.

The 2023 Zephyrus M16 is an attractive package: - Great build quality: I'd even say as far as price is concerned the M16 has the best feel per dollar (I made that up) of any laptop short of maybe the 2024 G16 (but that is more expensive and it's RAM can't be upgraded). - Great performance to price ratio (especially if you get it on sale). Honestly this thing is a monster especially for it's size. - Great upgradability: Aside from having a few different screw sizes and some annoying plastic screw covers, once you get in you have room for another M2 SSD and another stick of RAM (total 2) also the one I received was ready for 5200mhz out of the box, so I just bought one 16 gig stick @ 5600mhz (KLEVV KD5AGSA80-56G460A) and viola, 32 gigs for chump change. WIFI card is even right there and upgradable if you care about that sort of thing. - Great screen. Yeah it's IPS but the brightness (~500nits) is fantastic and the colors pop. Sometimes I turn the laptop on just to look at the screen. - Great speakers. Best I've used on a laptop short of (maybe?) my M2 mac air (but it's close). - Battery life is what it is; Intel high performance laptop so you get what you expect albeit not TERRIBLE still not great. If you turn everything down lower refresh rate, brightness, and operate on silent mode maybe you can get around 5 hours. Few things to note: - The webcam is 1080, not 720. Yay! Still not an amazing webcam but it more than suffices and really, what exactly is an AMAZING webcam anyway? - Mine came with 16gigs (1 stick) of 5600mhz ram (Samsung) but it's running at 5200mhz (highest the chipset supports). - Can get loud and hot, but for the size if you keep it on silent it still performs decent and keeps the noise low if that stuff annoys you. But if you're gaming and want the performance you paid for expect some noise and heat.

After searching extensively for a laptop in the mid tier gaming price range I settled up this laptop. First off its very stylish. Its a lot more understated than most gaming laptops, but I also use it also for work purposes so i find that a plus. The build seems solid, its an aluminum lid with a magnesium alloy body. Not a lot of give anywhere. The lid also opens VERY smoothly. The display is beautiful. Very bright, 240mhz refresh rate makes it look very smooth. Big fan of the 16:10 ratio for reading. The combo of the 4070 gpu and 13900H cpu is a winning one. This will play just about every game out there at 1600p max settings 60+fps. The 13900H cpu is about the best you'll find in a laptop outside of the beefier 13900HX, Its not as noisy as I expected it would be, although on turbo you will for sure notice the fans. Not as hot as some other gaming laptops I've used either. One con: The battery life isn't amazing, 5 hours maybe just doing web surfing, office programs, ect. But that's also not terrible I'll take it. Note: No number pad or Ethernet port on this laptop, so keep that in mind.
