It has failed twice since that time. Apparently updates cause this problem I would not purchase this unreliable router.

Very stable on its own and in mesh setup.

Called cable company got the "all clear". Plugged in my netgeat router to test and I had internet again. Waited an hour, unplugged the netgear and put back the ASUS router and back to no internet. Confirmed garbage. I knew with how lite and cheap it felt it wouldnt be reliable.
