Seems to be a great router but not better

Got this as an upgrade for an Asus Be7200, but after installation I didn’t get the bump in speed, distance, number of devices, that I expected when upgrading, so I returned the expensive Be96U. The BE7200 has been a great main router, so I am sticking with it.
Works great with Quantum Fiber's C6500XK Smart NID

I have been using this connected to my Quantum Fiber C6500XK using 10Gbps Ethernet. It does a much better job of covering my house than my old router. I have not used the mesh feature yet. It is important to use it in AP mode with the C6500XK, as the C6500XK is a router without WiFi or even an Ethernet switch.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Basically it improved my Wi-Fi reliability by a ton! I'm upgrading from Wi-Fi 6 and that router was failing for some strange reason. I tried a couple of mesh routers with Wi-Fi 7 and I cannot get them to work properly for gaming. I figured a single connection point would work better and so far my theory appears to be true because this single point of connection spin throughout my entire house without issue and gives me the speed I need.

Couldn’t test WiFi 7, but got WiFi 6E, it couldn’t connect to 5ghz 160mhz wide channels with a device, it could only do that at 6ghz.
I tested it against the tp link be95 and that could connect to a WiFi 6E device on the 5ghz 160mhz wide channel.
Also, single gigabit ports after the 10gig ports at this price range is funny

It's a great router on paper, unfortunately it has major stability issues with wifi.
When considering wired only it's absolutely fantastic, it has plenty of bells and whistles and does most anything you need. However, the wireless disconnects multiple times a day and I wasn't able to find a firmware version and settings that would solve the problem.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the ASUS RT-BE96U Router. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the Wi-Fi stability issues. While we are glad to hear that the router performs well on wired connections, we understand how important reliable wireless performance is.

I regret buying the ASUS RT-BE96U. This router has been nothing but problems from the start. The Wi-Fi signal constantly drops, making it unreliable even for basic use. On top of that, latency is all over the place, with frequent high-ping spikes and even timeouts when communicating with the router itself, which should never happen on a local network.
The advertised features are just as disappointing. Wi-Fi 7 did not work properly at all, and the MLO feature was essentially unusable. I had to disable it just to get a somewhat stable connection, which defeats the whole point of buying a next-gen router in the first place.
I also tried troubleshooting extensively, including testing close to the router, checking for interference, and isolating the connection, but the issues persisted. That points to poor hardware or firmware quality rather than anything on my end.
What makes this even worse is that I previously owned the Wi-Fi 6 version of this router, and that unit completely failed after about 3 years and became unusable. I gave this newer model a chance, hoping things had improved, but clearly they have not.
Overall, this router is unreliable, unfinished, and not worth the money. I would strongly recommend avoiding it and looking for a more stable alternative.

Very fast router. After setting it up as the primary router in an AI mesh system, it continually dropped its Internet connection. I really liked this router but it could not reach all areas of my 2100 sq. ft. townhouse. I need a mesh system for my use case. This didn't work for that application so I returned it.

I bought this router and I'm not that happy.
Issue 1 it says it covers upto 5400 SQFT my house is close to 4K and some part of the house don't have enough signal.
Next issue is thought I have 3 SIDs (2.4, 5 and 6GHZ) none of my latest devices see the 6GHZ SID. I have a Service req with ASUS Service No=N2401006825-0012 but nothing happens every other day some rep will send a mail saying that they are still working on it. For charging $700 it is suppose to work from the day 1 unfortunately that's not the case. I have a 5years old TPLink triband router I think that beats this one hands down. Since I missed the 14day Bestbuys (That sucks) return widow I have a 700 dollars brick.

After review of multiple brands and models BE96U won. To my surprise the first one died few days after it was installed. The replacement was very easy and has worked flawlessly. when I went to pick up the second router the price had dropped nearly $200, because of a sale. Could not be happier with the Best Buy service, ASUS router's performance and of course a little extra cash.

We originally bought one BE96U earlier and it has stably run with 25+ devices for 2 months. We decided to buy 2nd one from BestBuy to pair with it. Setup was like a charm and all WiFi 6 / 6E clients smoothly connect and get solid performance.
Our setup info:
1st BE96U connected to AT&T Fiber modem in walk-in closet, serving 25+ WiFi 6 / 6E devices (no WiFi 7 clients yet);
2nd BE96U in basement connected to 1st BE96U via AiMesh wirelessly and wired connection to one NAS server and ARLO camera base station.
AiMesh between a pair of BE96Us, located in walk-in closet 2nd floor and basement respectively, gives 6.7Gbps in 6G BW320, 3.6Gbps in 5G BW160 and 459Mbps from 2.4G BW20, viewed from System Log - Wireless Log: there is already a monster backhaul from current firmware that provides more than enough bandwidth for the NAS and ensures in-home file sharing at lighting speed across any devices! The advertised MLO in firmware coming will be even more exciting.
WiFiman ping speed from an iPhone is garage (3 walls and 1 floor away from router):
gateway 2ms
X.com 9ms
openai.com 10ms
nvidia.com 7ms
icloud.com 9ms
This truly redefines high throughput and low latency!!!

I am decidedly not a fan of Asus Routers.
I have two Rt-BE96u routers. The first one just... idk. No clue. Lights, camera, no action.
The second one does great wifi with my phone, nothing else follows. Won't connect to my laptop, wifi or ethernet cable.
Too many names passwords accounts asus accounts, router acounts, app accounts, wifi name etc etc. No clue what of the many many things goimg as to why these things are so confusing. Pretty much totally sick of Asus routers after about $1500 dumped into three routers for a Mind blowing head ache!
Oh it works fine if it works.

The performance of the box is amazing when it works. At close range i am reaching 3500mbps with sonic 10gig fiber. The best out of many "10" gig routers ive tried. HOWEVER i have had to reboot it daily to fix connection issues. I would suggest trying the Netgear wifi 7 routers or the Eero 7
