ASUS quality has gone down a lot

The battery failed to properly charge after a few months. Fortunately, this was within the 1 year warranty, but ASUS gave us the run around for 2 months before finally agreeing to receive the laptop and replace the battery. This is also part of the issue. The battery is built into the laptop. so they cannot just send you a replacement battery that you can replace yourself. Poor design. ASUS used to be decent quality, but it has gone down to the point where I would recommend people choose another brand.

The keys are sort of low profile, but typing is comfortable and it has the 10-key keyboard on the side, which is perfect for me (accountant). Machine is quiet, has a slim profile and is lightweight. Pleased with it.

My friends' older laptops with slower processors do a better job than this laptop. I am extremely disappointed with this buy, and I feel that I haven't received my money's worth.

This Model X54 is junk, it has spent more time at Geek Squad and repair factory than in my hands. Last time it was sent back to ASUS repair for new hard drive and within a month it was back to doing same problem. And of course during the repair time when it was at factory the warranty for 1 year time ran out. ASUS will not fix it now even though they had it during the warranty time!!! And its doing same thing it was sent to them for !!!! I'm done with ASUS and Geek Squad !!!!! Geek Squad wouldn't even try to help!!

I certainly understand your disappointment with the quality of the product and service, and the inconvenience this may have caused you. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or, part that stop working prematurely under normal usage.
