Great build, beautiful screen, and the screen pad after downloading drivers is very cool. My only hiccup came when I was running my Glowforge with minor 2d vector graphics and I'm getting alot of lag from click grab to re position on the graphic itself. Other than that it's a beautiful computer for casual use or light work. Thank you!

Very impressed. I was primarily shopping LG, ASUS and Samsung. But I got just too good a deal on this. Only thing I wish it had was an ethernet port. I use a usb/ethernet adapter with additional usb ports built in. In addition, as I also seldom use a CD/DVD drive, an external ASUS compact drive works quite well for me. Outstanding with Zoom meetings. The pad feature takes a little getting used to but delightful that it also acts as an additional screen. Great storage. VERY fast. Superb performance. A little smaller than my past laptops, but I don't really notice because there's so much less frame edge. Great definition & color. Light. Some maybe thought it flimsy. I don't agree. Still experimenting with it but I'm very pleased. Not a big fan of touchscreens...so I have no comment. And I haven't tried it as a "tablet" (as I have 2 already) Very good battery life. Not as long as some others but quite adequate. Longevity & battery lifetime will be something I'll watch...and of course reliability. If I note unacceptable problems in these areas I will update.

    Top Notch Asus

I've purchased My Asus Zenbook about 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it. This is probably the best laptop I've purchased in a long, long, time. This is coming from someone who prurchased numerous laptops over the the last few years and currently owns 7 laptops. Aside from having a Macbook Pro, Dell 17" to mentions the new HP 15.6 Spectre last month, this ASUS tops them all. I wasn't looking for a 15.6" laptop but couldn't pass up a Best Buy deal for a Dell Inspiron with $k 512 GB SSD and pen that's housed in the computer. I bought that before Thanksgiving and took it back a week later and exchanged for the HP Spectre. While that's a fine machine and I still have it I find myself using the ASUS more and more. SO, here are the pros about it: 1. The 4k display is the best and brightest out there and at 300 NITS it 's even brighter than the HP. 2. The 1 TB SSD is amazingly fast, the computer boots up and is ready to use within 2 to 3 seconds and that includes the 1 second for Windows Hello to recognize me. Much faster the HP Spectre. (don't get me wrong, the HP is fast but cant compete with the ASUS in bootup time. It also seems to run multitask better the HP (sorry HP) 3. The battery life is really descent, it's definitely not the best but I find it last about 4 hours at max brightness and last several more if I turn down the brightness a notch or two. With OLED displays these days, they don't appear as bright as the LCDs used to be and that's one thing I like about this one. Also, the computer really charges up fast from a near dead battery to almost fully charged in about an hour. The charger is a 120W so that must be how they did it. The battery is also a 71KwH 8 cell. 4. As only a few peoples reviews mention it running loud and a few others say it runs a little warm, I find it to be the quietest laptop out there, I barely hear the fan when it kicks in, I did change a few settings for this but have changed them back to default as it didn't change anything. It also does not get too warm either, in fact it barely get warm at all. 5. I really like the Screenpad, I don't use it all that much so I disabled it but I do like that it has that functionality. It does take a little bit of learning to get the hang of it. When I get a computer desk again and use a mouse with it on a regular basis, I can see using the screenpad more. Both the screenpad/trackpad seem solid as do the hinges and the entire computer. Great Job ASUS!

This is my fourth Asus laptop, and so far it is my favorite! A bit of history: My very first laptop was an early Zenbook that just became outdated, so I replaced it with the more budget-friendly Vivobook Flip 15. My original Vivobook's touchscreen failed in such a way that no one could seem to fix it, so it was replaced with a second Vivobook. That Vivobook suffered three hard drive failures in as many weeks and, as a medical student, this was not something I could ignore. I spend about 90% of my day glued to my laptop, so reliability is key. Hence, my purchase of this Zenbook (after all, I never had a single issue with my original Zenbook). Admittedly, this laptop is a little excessive for your typical student. But for a student who also enjoys gaming or digital art, this is a smart choice. I still can't get over the speed--a solid-state drive and 16 GB of RAM means that you're never waiting on the computer to load. I had just under a terabyte of data and programs to load onto this computer when I got it, and *I* was the one that was slowing things down; it finished a task before I was even ready with the next one! I finished setting the whole thing up within the day (for reference, it took me about 4 days to set up my previous one with *less* data). The 4K display is beautiful; even when working in Microsoft Word, the clarity and color is perfect. I do a lot of digital art with Corel Painter and am impressed with the color fidelity, not to mention the speed and resolution. The ScreenPad is a novelty with lots of potential. It's a little too small to really use as a second screen for referencing another document, and I already use an external monitor for that purpose (Although the main screen is plenty large enough to view multiple windows comfortably). I do like to use it as an entertainment screen, however; I will open Netflix or Hulu on it and let it play while I am writing a paper in a non-intrusive way. I don't find myself using the Word/Excel/PPT integrations that much yet, but that may change when the next full semester gets underway. (The ScreenPad is also great for surreptitiously playing Candy Crush or Solitaire during long lectures...) As a touchpad, however, the "feel" far exceeds traditional touchpads; it is very smooth. Aesthetically, the device is very pleasing. I'm a huge fan of the black metal casing, as it keeps the computer cooler, is harder to beat up, and makes it look classier. I love the nearly frameless design of the screen and the fact that they made a large-display device fit into a small-display chassis. This means that it is very portable and will fit in most backpacks and laptop sleeves. The flip feature is great for marking notes directly onto slides without wasting a bunch of paper and toner. I had the original Asus Pen from my previous device, but it would have been nice for Asus to include their Pen 2.0 in the box. I ended up choosing to buy that separately. The keyboard feels excellent to type on, and the number pad is a must-have for anyone that does a lot of data entry. I've had plenty of Zoom meetings lately to attest to the superb quality of the webcam. And the Harman/Kardon sound systems blows the previous SonicMaster systems out of the water. Add in the 4K UHD display, and this is a mini home theater. The NVIDIA graphics card allows the Zenbook to run graphics-heavy games with absolutely no lag (and at about a third of the price of a good gaming computer!) The charger is certainly not made for portability, but it does charge the device rather quickly. I don't often use my laptop without having it plugged in, but it seems to last a good six hours running Word, Excel, several Chrome tabs, and Netflix/Hulu simultaneously. At worst, it lasts about 2 hours while running an active Zoom meeting. If left idle, the battery lasts 10+ hours. I will update this review once I have spent more time with the device, but I've found nothing to complain about so far. All in all, this is another great Asus laptop that will surely serve me well over the next few years until its hardware becomes outdated. I was lucky enough to snag this one on sale, but even at full-price it is well worth it.

    - lightweight & portable, fits nicely in my North Face laptop backpack. - fast - graphics are really nice, making 4k movies & TV really enjoyable - I'm not a huge fan of the new touchpad, so far. It seems to glitch every once in awhile and I find that I'm not using it much, however that could just be noob problems. All in all, this 2 in 1 laptop would be great for a student, or light business & personal use, so because of that I highly recommend. I subtracted a star because I think ASUS should've included instructions that were more thorough on how to use the touchpad.

Lots of memory . deadicated 4gb graphix . screen is pretty darn good and stable , not much play in it . you can use it as a touch screen or use a pen without propping something behind it.. the 2nd screen took some getting used . once I realized my add on mouse also worked that screen , game on.. with microsoft based products I am an HP loyalist. (since first PC in 1982) so I was hesitant . but options and price point was way ahead of the current best HP spectre 360. have not yet had a reason to regret the decision. I have a super suped up omen with 2 , 4k 27 inch samsungs and a third hp 23" touch screen for my work computer. needed something to go, that could do similar work at similar speed. this Asus is not a desk top, but it is a heck of a lot more than my 2 year old mac book pro, if that helps for comparison sake.. I would buy this again if the need arose.. BTW bought the omen and 2 screens at best buy one day sale oct of 2019 walked out the door for $1,190.00. had $140 in rewards. so I grabbed a new keyboard and mouse blues a 30 inch pad.. That was a sweet day.. thanks best buy.

As a college student, I needed something high powered for the programs I’d need to run and some gaming with friends. This really is the perfect laptop for those things. Here’s a few things I’ve noticed: -Gaming is great. I can play Bannerlord on low just fine, and I recently started playing No Man’s Sky at the highest resolution. The fans kick on, and the underside becomes fairly warm, but overall the fans are pretty quiet, and I’m able to game with it sitting on my lap just fine. -The touchpad is amazing. I haven’t had an issue at all with it. I love that I can put tabs down below, listen to Spotify, and even watch YouTube while doing anything else. This has been one of the best features in my opinion. -Tablet mode is really cool. I’ve never owned a 2in1 before, but I really like this one so far mainly because of tablet mode. When you flip the laptop, it asks to go into tablet mode, in which it basically becomes a windows tablet. This is very useful for Netflix, YouTube, etc. when you’re just wanting to relax. -The graphics are beautiful. I own a Lenovo from around 2016, and when I switched back to it to transfer some files, I was shocked at how terrible the screen looked in comparison. Overall, if you want a good work/school laptop that can play games, switch to a tablet, and has a really cool second screen, this is perfect for you. I was so nervous that I wouldn’t be able to run my games, or it wouldn’t be what I expected, but this device blew my expectations away. I am very glad I chose this laptop over the others I researched.

I needed to replace an HP Envy that had a continuing video card issue. I did a lot of research and chose this ASUS Zenbook. I am very pleased with the price and performance of this laptop computer. It is much quicker than I thought it would be, startup is just a few seconds. I am one who tends to have a lot of tabs open (and sometimes multiple Browsers) and there is no noticeable lag in any operations. So far, am loving it! The display is vivid and the performance has been amazing. The Screen Pad 2.0/touchpad takes a little getting used to, but I can see the possibilities for that. The flip feature feels a little snug to open, but works out fine and the tablet mode comes in handy on occasion. Overall I am impressed with this device. :) (My Useage: Office work, Researching, Online meetings, Movies/Videos, Music, Light gaming)

The Asus zenbook is perfect for a retiree who is doing basic computing or a student who doesn't need a lot of graphics power but wants a fairly affordable laptop. Pros It's fast, 1tb SSD and 16gb keeps it moving fast and provides solid internal storage options. Touch screen is really easy to use and will spoil you over using a mouse and external monitor for web browsing and standard screen navigation. Battery life is solid Cons The mini screen in the mouse pad could be a while lot better. It's pretty but not very functional. Power button is flush with computer. Pushing it in is a royal pain. Very first thing I did was turn off sleep so I wouldn't have to push that button anymore. It should be raised slightly.

Needed to upgrade my laptop as I had a very outdated budget/black friday HP. Don't get me wrong, that laptop served it's purpose. However, my concern of it being outdated and starting grad school, led me to look into new options. I am blown away at how great this laptop is. I was fortunate enough to get an open box option at a heavy discount. This thing is FAST. It will do anything you need. The only lag I have experienced is with gaming. The graphics card, I don't believe is the greatest for running newer games. (COD MW) ~was just testing limits~ hard to tell if it was the laptop or my wifi (rather than hardwired). But it worked fine for the most part, and adjusting settings may help. The screen is stunning, crisp, and the thickness of the screen edge is minimal. The mousepad is pretty unique. I can see it being useful for multitasking as a second "monitor." I've used it to stream music on youtube, speakers are great as well. Having control of skips etc right on the pad. It is easily turned on/off as a second screen/regular mousepad. It has word/excel capabilities on the pad as well. I feel like I need to further explore this laptop, but as far as what I've done - it's superb and worth every penny. The metal casing feels VERY durable. I have no concern with it closed and being damaged. The flip to tablet mode makes touch screen / android like useful. I plan to invest in the Asus pen, as I'll be needing to write notes here and there. Or to draw diagrams, etc. The alexa feature is the only "con", simply because I really have no use for it. Combine this laptop with OneDrive and office 365 and you have an ultimate device for college/work. Asus has some applications/features built in that help further ease Windows 10. It works harmoniously. This thing is great and I am extremely pleased with the quality. If you are hesitant, let me assure you that you will not be disappointed. 10/10 - no complaints.

This laotop is amazing. Especially considering I was using a sony vaio laptop from 2011 that I thought was terrible back in 2011. This is such an improvement. The 4k looks great and it has so many features i wish i had on my old laptop like a blue screen filter so my eyes don't dry out. This is a big must considering i'm an on online student. It's easy to use and it's the perfect laptop for me. and the switch to a tablet and touch screen feature is awesome.

Background: I was looking for a laptop that balanced portability with the biggest screen possible. I also wanted a dedicated GPU for some mild gaming when I'm traveling, as well as to speed up Photoshop and Lightroom for my photography, which narrows down the field considerably. That search led me to some good value laptops with MX 150 or 250 GPUs, which I was worried would feel under-powered, or intro level gaming laptops which all seemed too bulky. I finally found the Asus ZenBook series which somehow had everything I wanted, and got an open box deal to boot. Pros: -Build quality. All metal construction with no screen flex. This feels like a quality piece of hardware. -Portability. I am amazed they fit a 15.6" screen in a form factor that matches most 14" laptops. The additional ability to swivel the screen around into a tent shape or tablet configuration means I don't have to worry about it fitting in tight spaces. -Processor. Mine has a 10th Gen i7, although I see this same sku listed with 8th gen i7's. Not sure if they stealth updated or if they are mislabeled on BB's site as having 8th gen processors, but this is more processing power than I would ever expect out of a portable laptop and with low power usage to boot. -Storage. A full 1TB NVMe SSD with Intel Optane Memory is awesome. It wouldn't be enough to keep my entire media library on, but with this much space I don't feel the need to have a secondary hard disk, which would add power draw and weight. -Battery. I'm amazed they fit a 71KWH battery in something this small. The gaming systems I was looking at have larger power needs, were way bulkier, and only contained 48-55 KWH. Combined with the low power draw of the included components and this has impressive battery life. -Keyboard. It has a good variable backlight and a true number pad. I'm not as picky as most about touch type feel, but it feels good to me. -Value. I see this on sale even though it is new, and that sale price is pretty impressive for the premium components. I got an open box which pushed value even higher for me. Mixed: -The 4K screen. This is really a pro with some reservations, as it really is an excellent screen. As a hobby photographer I appreciate that it is calibrated and has a wider color gamut than most (I think 100% sRGB, 77% NTSC), and the fact that it is a touch screen adds some usability. However, it's hard (but not impossible) to see a resolution difference between 1080P and 4K at 15.6", and that 4K screen adds cost and power draw, plus causes problems for gaming (see next point). -The GTX 1050. I'm not sure why Asus is including the 1050 instead of the 1650 in this, as the 1650 gets more performance out of the same power needs and this is a top of the line laptop. My guess is they just kept the 1050 to not have to re-engineer where everything fits in this model from the previous one. Having a dedicated GPU is great for speeding up GPU-enabled tasks, but this is not powerful enough to drive a 4K screen in games (only top of the line desktop cards can). However, if you change the screen resolution to 1080P everything scales nicely and the 1050 feels much more capable. -Cooling. The fans will switch on quickly if you are doing anything demanding, and they are noticeable but not outrageously loud. Given the all aluminum construction, I wish they had used the entire body as a passive heatsink and radiator. -The ScreenPad. This feature intrigued me but I mostly keep it set to touchpad only instead of using the screen. The idea is good, but only Asus's apps really make use of the screen well, and those are typical crappy apps from hardware manufacturers. No third party developer is going to waste their time making good apps for such a niche market. I would love to have a hardware monitor running down there during gaming with usage and temps, but that seems to be an oversight from Asus. Also, the fact that the pad defaults to Screen mode instead of touchpad mode is a huge mistake. I don't want to have to touch a button in the corner of the screen every time I want to use the mouse. This may improve in time as Asus brings out more laptops with screenpads. -Weight. It is feels heavy for it's compact size, so don't expect this to be a featherweight laptop. That weight comes from solid construction and a huge battery, so I'll gladly have it, but for some this may be a turn-off. Cons: -Asus support. Asus's website does not make it easy to find info on various laptops, and the fact that some configurations vary based on retailer or region compound the issue. Also, it seems previous models of ZenBooks all had the folding screens, but as of the newest year only the flips have it. I wish there was a better way of figuring out exactly what each model had. Also, there is an included MyAsus app to keep system firmware and drivers up to date, but it doesn't appear to be possible to see what version is currently installed versus what is available online, which makes it essentially unusable. Of course documentation for this app is also insufficient on Asus's website. -Opening the screen. This may be a nit-pick, but it's hard to open the screen when this is closed. The hinges are stiff so that you can reposition them wherever you want, so you need some force to open it. Add to that the relatively heavy weight of the screen portion and the slippery feel of the aluminum, and I need both hands to open this when it's sitting on a table. I wish there was some texture or a little less resistance for the very beginning of opening it before you can get your hand in between the screen and keyboard. Overall I am very happy with this laptop, and I imagine it will be hard to find something with this combo of features whenever I finally have to replace it.

I bought this computer for school to use with some engineering programs for class. Everything feels fluid and nice when I'm using it and the screen really is quite vibrant. This model is pretty spec'd out, i do wish i had a better graphics card built in though. The only thing that i find annoying is the mouse pad. It has a touch screen built in to the mouse pad which doubles as a second screen to use with what ever you want. The track pad has to be active to use the mouse, and you can deactivate it to use apps. sometimes it switches to the second screen setting while I'm using it, and it gets quite annoying sometimes. There is a way to turn it off if your not interested in using it. Its most definitely just a huge gimmick with no real practical applications, at least i haven't found any uses for it quite yet. Other then that, i'm really happy with my purchase and will be looking forward to using this computer every day.

I'm not a computer expert but it has been about 10 years since I had a new laptop so I decided to splurge on this one. It is really fast. Starts up quick and handles multiple tasks easily. The battery life could be better, but I am assuming that is mostly because of the 4K screen (which I love). I am not really a gamer but saw a deal and downloaded the games which it handles with ease. The one minor complaint that I have is that the power button is really small and located in a weird place. Would recommend this to anyone who can afford it.

Purchased this laptop for my son. I’ve built all my computers since the old 286’s with MS Dos. Ssd drive a must. Excellent display driver, crazy resolution. Touch Screen, Mic, Camera a necessity, as he teaches virtually during this pandemic. I installed MS Office and Norton Security, with an external DVD player that I purchased along with this Asus laptop. Great laptop. My sons wife, also a teacher, love it so much, she’s purchasing the exact laptop. BTW all my computer builds have been with Asus motherboards.

Have limited use with it so far, but I really like it, the picture is great. I mainly use a desktop but have a laptop for when I am out. It was older and was ready to be replaced, it can not compare to this ASUS at all. This thing is fast and so far easy to use. The speakers sound good for a laptop. I am going to get gaming mouse and headset to play with too. I purchased open box and I received a great deal.

I would recommend this to a friend
