Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Zenbook S 14 for its impressive build quality, exceptional battery life, and remarkable portability. The laptop's fast processor and light weight are also appreciated, especially when combined with its ample RAM. While some users have noted that the laptop can run a bit warm and the fan can be somewhat noisy, the positive aspects appear to be more prominent.

BIG improvement over my Dell XPS 13. Only downside is that there should be a USB-C on each side, rather than both on one side.

The first thing you’ll notice about this Asus Zenbook S14 is how light it feels. For a laptop this capable, it is shockingly light and portable. The 14” form factor is the perfect size for both home and travel use, and the build quality is what you’d expect from Asus, sturdy, precise and very premium. I’m not a fan of the “broken tile” design on the lid, but the slate gray color option is very nice. The material is called Ceraluminum, which from the website indicates that it is “an industry-grade fusion of ceramic and aluminum widely used for its strength, scratch resistance, lightness, and luxurious tactile feel, available exclusively for the Zenbook S Series.” It’s very premium feeling and does resist fingerprints very well. The OLED screen is pleasantly bright, even in well-lit conditions, and the colors and blacks are superb. It will do 500 nit peak HDR and Asus says the colors “Pantone validated” which I cannot confirm myself, but the screen is amazing. The 3K resolution at 120Hz is a pleasure to use, and it has the power to push up to 3 external displays at various resolutions and refresh rates. I was able to push my two 49” OLED Samsung G9s without issue. It is also a touch screen which always comes in handy. The I/O is respectable with two USB-C 3.2 ports, one USB-A 3.2 port and HDMI 2.1 port. It also supports WiFi-7 so for someone like me that has high speed internet in the home up to 2Gbps, the laptop can just about max out that speed wirelessly, which is awesome! The power under the hood is respectable. It has a Core Ultra 7 EVO processor (Series 2, 258V) which has a 12MB cache and a max of 4.80GHz. It uses 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. That coupled with the 32MB of installed RAM will power through just about most day to day tasks. While this machine isn’t spec’d to be a complete workhouse or digital workflow powerhouse, it will handle just about anything the normal standard to slight power user can throw at it. The weak link in the armor here is the GPU. It’s just an Intel Arc at 1.95 GHz and very entry level. It will not handle much beyond standard visual workflows like browsing YouTube, watching videos and viewing pictures. It will do Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, but will not be good for any sort of gaming or high intense graphics applications. This machine is tailored toward productivity and not graphics. For Graphics you would want to look into the Asus ROG lineup. The keyboard is a very nice size for a 14” laptop, with a nice and large trackpad which supports gesture control. There is also a dedicated Copilot button for Microsoft’s AI companion, and having the dedicated button is very nice because Copilot is getting better all the time. Being able to call on it with the press of a single button is nice to have. It does support up to 65W of charging and the power supply that comes with it is 65W capable and has a very small form factor which is super nice. No more large, clumsy power supply here. It does seem to fast charge when depleted and so far battery life has been very good. I know they tout up to 27 hours of battery life for this machine, but that comes with many *, so I will say I can easily go a full day on a charge and have no issues with the battery life so far. Overall this Zenbook is a pleasure to use and easy to take with me, and powers through anything we need it to do.
