Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read the reviews on this drive and thought I could live with the “not too easy to put disks in and take out” that I read in other reviews. But they aren’t kidding in their reviews! First to open the drawer is all but impossible. The whole drive is completely a matte black finish, other than the Asus name on the top of the drive. Second, the button on the front door to have the disk drawer open is almost not noticeable in low lighting and is all but flush with the door. So, you are trying to glide your thumb or finger back and forth to try and find the button to open. Then to put a disk into the drawer is another fight. The center pin is so stiff, that you almost feel like you are going to break the disk trying to insert it onto the spindle. Taking the disk out, is again another feat of fearing of breaking the disk trying to remove it. The drive itself is very sleek and flimsy feeling. About the feel of a cd or dvd. But the spindle you snap the disk onto is like a bear trap! Just waiting to SNAP your disk into pieces. The two USB cords to plug into your computer is another downfall of the drive. But then it seems this is a standard on most cd/dvd drives. So, it’s a matter of either computer manufacturers building computers with more USB ports or the cd/dvd drive manufactures coming up with some different method. Otherwise the drive appears to work fine.
