This portable monitor served it's purpose. The resolution for travel was good. The screen traveled well. The con is that only certain USB-C cords would work so when I forgot the proper cord I had to purchase another. The screen only lasted a little over two years then stopped working unexpectedly.

Exactly what I was looking for! The weight is fantastic and the foldable stand/screen protector is genius. This goes into my laptop case and I barely notice it's there. Great quality for viewing the monitor outside, although I didn't look into this specifically. The stand is a little weird to figure out, but once figured out, it's such a nice design. I haven't noticed unplugged laptop power much affected, in any case I can use outside or where ever without the laptop being plugged in for a good long while. Not a touch screen but OK with that. This was cheaper on Amazon but who knows where you are getting it from there, plus I have BestBuy protection which made the extra cost worth it. The GeekSquad is always there for me, and any problems, I know there is a great warranty. Thanks Best Buy!

Great monitor, terrible stand

I want to start off by saying that the monitor is actually really really good. It is very thin and lightweight. The picture is very crisp and clear, the brightness is terrific for normal use. It display's video content well, games also perform good. As a second monitor, this is a great add on. Just plug it into your laptop/desktop/cell phone/tablets USB-C port and it works. I tried them all and it worked.
Why 3 stars? The stand is terrible. When it comes down to using the monitor, and you have issues with it standing up, or getting the right angle, this monitor sucks. I bought it while traveling to Savannah GA, and by the time I returned home, it had to go back. The stand has basically two angles, neither work for me. If you bump the table, the stand fails and the monitor falls down. Just setting it up is a task, and it is frustrating.
I do not want to go into more details, but if ASUS would have put more thought into the design and just put an adjustable kickstand on it, this would be a terrific monitor, I can't give it more than 3 stars for the stupid stand.

Portable, easy to plug in and out. Nice decent graphic. Recommended, good for coder, multitasking. Buy this if you just need another monitor no need all the fancy features.

Happy with Screen

I am very happy with the screen itself, the only issue I have is with the stand. I love that the cover turns into a stand so I don't have to carry a separate item but it is just confusing to set up. You have to fold it a certain way and I always forget how to do this corretly. (I don't use this screen everyday).
But it is super easy to power up and down. And the screen is clear and sharp.
I would purchase this again.

This is actually so much better than I expected via pictures and reviews. There isn't really any reviews though for this specific model, it seems all I can find are for AC and not ACE.
This review is based off the sales price I got it for when it was on sale for a day. I got it for almost 40% off, so that's what this review is reflection of. If I paid full price, I don't think my reviews would change other than adding more CON's.
First thing I noticed was how clear and accurate the picture was. Now, I'm not content creater, so I don't have a particularly picky taste in color accuracy. Instead, I am a software dev that looks at a computer screen all day that prefers IPS 4K panels. This isn't 4k, but it is IPS, and with a quick picture adjustment the colors are the exact same as my monitor. This is nice because the OCD in me isn't bugging out. I also had to change scaling resolution to 100%, it defaults to like 150%. Looking at it, a 15-Inch IPS portable monitor at 100% scaling (at its native resolution and not zoomed in to make things bigger when anything more than 100% scaling), the texts are crystal clear.
I also use it on my gaming desktop sometimes. My motherboard has a USB-C 10GB port on the back. It's so easy just unplugging from my MBP to Desktop and back/forth. No software needed, just plug and play. It has the included USB-A adapter, but you have to install a software to be able to use it that way based on the manual. Every device I own has USB-C, so I don't really care about it but good to know it's there.
A few things about my usage and scenarios:
1. I work for home for the time being. I have a workstation Windows laptop with 2 monitors (one 4k that is personal and one 1080p from work). I use the 4k monitor (28") for my IDE and the 1080p for everything else from project resources, chat services (MS Teams, telegram), browser, etc... I found it annoying having my chat services in the 1080p monitor because in order for me to keep track of a conversation, I have to let it take up almost half the monitor (25" for the 1080p). Which covers up parts of what I also need to look at for the project. So it's just an annoying work around that I have to do. With this ZenScreen, I just move them down to it along with any other apps that I don't frequently look at (i.e. Docker, VPN, SQLdatabase, etc.). And because it's a portable monitor, I have it angled just below my 4k monitor, so it's like a spaceship console. It's accessible at a quick glance, just look down with my eyes, instead of turning my head side to side with the other monitor.
2. I don't really use it with my MBP, but it works fine. Nothing much to say here.
3. My gaming rig desktop is purely for just that, gaming. I have decent hardware on it with GPU being the priority. It powers a 144Hz Asus 25" IPS monitor. Honestly, I didn't need to use it with this, but man does it make things more convenient. If possible, I make my games windowed borderless because I like to alt-tab whenever I'm not actively playing. Also, we do a lot of group chat on telegram and discord. I figured I'd plug this in and do the same thing I did on the workstation laptop. Moved all my chats to the Zenscreen and that's it. I can actively read what's being said without having to alt-tab out to see if I missed something. Also, I started having my NZXT Cam software up for the hell of it and moved it to the Zenscreen as well.
My only con, given what I paid for it, is the case. I guess this is the other difference between AC and ACE model. AC model, based on the pics, seem to include their overly complex smart cover that also acts as a stand. This ACE model includes a overly complex stand, but not the same one as AC model because this cannot act as a cover. Okay, I mean yeah it "COVERS" the screen my tacking it on, but it's not the conventional definition of a cover that we think about when referring to tablets (which I know this isn't, but form factor basically is). I would've preferred the smart cover from the AC because it acts like a case cover with stand built in, like most tablet cases you see in the market. This does the job of acting as a stand and covering your screen, but this still exposes the whole back side for scratches.
Overall, even at full price this is worth it if you're needing an extra screen without taking up much space. And I mean extra screen, not another screen right? Like, I don't consider this a 3 monitor setup for work, more like 2.5. If you need a second monitor, buy an actual monitor. 1080p 15" screen doesn't have real estate for anything too meaningful. If this is for your laptop for when you're on the go, then at that point I would consider this as "another" screen. Perfect for traveling, convenient for at home use.

Excellent monitor. It is thin, lightweight and has hardware buttons to turn it on/off and control brightness, which my other portable monitor from a different brand does not have. It looks fantastic on my desk and is much easier on the eyes than the other portable monitor I have, which I found myself using more and more as a paperweight due to eye strain (not 1080p, requires you to look directly at screen, has glare; no brightness control, have to unplug to turn off, etc.).
This Asus monitor is very easy on the eyes (to look at physically/design-wise and actually use for long periods of time) as it has brightness control, matte screen with no glare/reflections, and the blue light filter and screen modes are easy to change with buttons or the widget. I only wish the widget/software you need to rotate the screen would work when minimized to the Windows system tray so you don't have to keep it open. Otherwise, I am very impressed and wish I bought a second one to replace my portable monitor (my current work from home setup has a 27" monitor, this 15.6 Asus MB16ACE and another 15.6" portable screen from another brand for a 3 monitor setup).
Note, this model does not come with the pen to help it stand up without the cover like the other "MB16AC" version but so far I have not had any issues keeping this monitor in portrait mode on my desk.

I love it. I use it every day. I bought it 2 years ago for $300 - it's still perfect. The picture quality is great, and it looks cool next to my laptop. I don't carry it around much, but it fits nicely in my bag with my laptop. The 'foldable smart case' doubles as the stand - it works, but it's not adjustable or very sturdy. I bought a separate tablet stand for $10 to leave on my desk. Set-up is easy - there is just one cord between the monitor and laptop - no power cord needed.

This monitor is exactly what I needed. Super easy to use. Just plug and play. Works perfectly with both my laptops (both HP). Colors are sharp. Lightweight and easy to pack in my briefcase. I did purchase a sleeve to put it in. I wanted additional protection for it.
The hole in the bottom is said to be a place to put a pen to act as a makeshift stand. Tested it out, and it's not at all stable. Would work in an emergency, but I would not recommend for long term use.
I recommend.

Good size. Good weight. Perfect for travel. The screen resolution is good. Nice connection using a USB C (and not the two USB A connectors). Connection cord is also sturdy. Only complaint is the stand, which I don’t dislike, just wish it allowed the screen to be a bit more upright.

WOW, I am super happy with this portable monitor. Easy to use, and the display is crystal clear. Reasonable priced. I cannot stand working with just one screen. This monitor is thin enough to be carried in the same laptop case as my computer, and sets up in a snap. The screen cover doubles as a stand, and is sufficient, but could be sturdier (as both a cover and a stand).

I absolutely need a second screen when working, but being restricted to my home office has become a pain. This portable monitor solved the issue and now allows me to feel productive regardless of where I'm setting up shop. A single cable facilitates the connection and it's a clear second screen that's larger than my 2021 MBP. The folding cover, that doubles as a stand can be confusing if you don't read the directions, but its serves as a companion to the screen to make working from wherever a breeze.

This is a great secondary monitor for my laptop. I use it daily and helps with me by allowing me to have Zoom calls on one screen and other tasks on this screen. It's portable and thin. I'm able to take this from the kitchen to my den. I like the fact that I can move around and be mobile. This portable monitor does not need a separate power cord. It is powered via the USB-C cable through my laptop which is really nice as I don't need to plug in yet another cable or dongle. Quality is very nice.

This is a good solid portable monitor. The 1080p version is best. This one has a USB-C connector with an adapter to convert one end to USB-A (the old standard, which I use). I had a little trouble getting my laptop to recognize it. I tried updating the drivers but without any improvement. However, after just letting it sit for a while, it suddenly showed up as a selectable monitor. Beats me why it took so long.
The folding stand is now my go-to support, although a BIC pen does a serviceable job so I keep one in my backpack.
Weight is negligible. Value is high.
