We have had the base unit and several handsets in our house. I recently took advantage of the great sale price and free shipping to buy some more. My mother fell recently and she was able to reach up and pick up the phone to call for help. We wanted to have more in other locations in the house, so I bought a few additional handsets. These have held up well and I like being able to add on without having to buy a whole new base phone/answering unit. We love the intercom feature because we have a large house and it makes it easy to get in touch with someone on a different floor or other side of the house without yelling.

We've had the att cordless phones for quite awhile and have been very happy with them. It consists of one base and two plug in phones. Recently one of the phones went completely dead and it wasn't the battery because everything was still lit. I didn't want to by a whole new base and phones and we wanted the extra phone, so I checked on line with Best Buy and found a replacement. All we had to do is activate it using the base phone and we were back in business. $20 for the replacement vs. $100 to replace the whole thing.........I am a happy camper.

This was an addition to an existing 4 phone system. Since we were already using this exact phone. there was no learning curve with the phone. There was no problem adding a fifth phone to our system, but you must follow the instructions exactly. It is not a "plug and play" process.

I really like this phone add on! You can add up to 12 phones with the set I have which is great if you have kids that break your phone and you need to replace it. This phone has the intercom feature so you can call any of the hand set registered with this set.

It's a great phone. I bought the original unit and 3 remote units a few years ago to put a phone in every room. At least I thought so until I moved my business back home and needed one for the living room and basement. This phone matched exactly the units I already have, so installation was easy and usage was very familiar. The product quality was good and stayed good. Thanks AT&T for keeping the accessory units available.

Overall it's a great item.....& from Best Buy was less expensive than directly from AT&T! (we really only wanted an extra 'charging cradle', but had to purchase the whole phone 'cause AT&T doesn't sell only the 'cradle', which was the reason for looking for the lowest price available!!!). Thank you.

very pleased with quality, already had 4 of these phones and had no problems with them, so decided to expand number of handsets to 6 by purchasing these 2 new ones which work from my existing base. All work great.

    Fantastic Range

We bought this phone as part of a system with multiple phones. Its got a whole slew of features, but who uses those anyway. One thing thats great is the address book is synched among any other handsets you have connected to a base. So you only need to enter an entry once. But this is all minor. If you live in an apartment this may not matter to you. Its all about the range with these phones. I can get a legitimate 300 feet from the base with this phone and still have flawless sound. I don't mean the standard fairy tale range numbers. I mean the base is on a desk on the first floor of my house and I am sitting in a neighbors house while our kids play together. In this era of nearly free cell phones why does this matter? I can't stand the delay I get when I talk on a cell phone. So when I get home i've got the key sequence on a speed dial to forward all my cell calls to home. So when I'm home I am able to take all my cell calls with the clarity of a land line, and none of the infuriaiting delay inherent in cell connections. re the handset being a bit fragile. my wife dropped one of these phones and the display went dead. Thats my only experience. Don

We have the base unit and three portable ones. We have a 4500sqft house and it has wonderful coverage everywhere. The ability to use the base unit during a power outage is a big factor for us. I love that the buttons are flush with the handset on the portables and they don't get accidentally pushed when I hold the portable unit to my ear with my shoulder (no hands moments on my old portables would usually click off the call!). The portable units are very lightweight. I've had it a month and we are totally satisfied with this purchase.

Great phone for a WIFI household

    Posted .

Older cordless phones were wreaking havoc with the WIFI use in our home, but like cordless convenience. These phones were a great answer to the problem as they run on a completely separate frequency. Initially bought the two-phone package. Base with handset and a remote handset with charger. After a month of use and no more WIFI interruptions, purchased two more remote handsets. Very easy to add to the system. Will actually allow up to 12 total. Nice features. Has its own voice mail. We have voice mail through phone service and handset will even identify when there are messages on that service without having to pick up phone and listen for beeps. Long lasting batteries in the handsets. One was left off the charger for 3+ days and could still make calls with it. Remembers up to 50 caller ID's and has built-in number directory. Both are available on any handset. Set up directory on one, all will see it. Intercom feature where you can select the number of the handset to contact. Each handset is identified by a number 1 thru 12. Place phones in various rooms or work places and intercom to them directly. Only thing that I've found that would be useful, but these handsets don't have is a headset jack. Their shape is awkward to hold to the ear with shoulder like regular phone. Headset jack would allow setting the handset down to type or work with both hands. Each has a speaker feature that allows this, but makes conversation public. Very small and minor nit for an overall well featured set of phones for their price.

I purchased the At&T phones for my wife as a Christmas gift because our other set of cordless phones was losing its battery power. These phones are fantastic. The range is really good and they don't interrupt out wireless network (an issue with our former set). We have asked our friends how the sound is and all of them say it is very good. I would definitely purchase them agani.

Good Home Phone -- NOT Expandable!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This phone system has two handsets. It was easy to set up, including the on-board directory of phone numbers, and the sound quality is average to above average. However, it was billed as being expandable (up to 12 handsets, and there is a three-handset version available, but not in stock) but the expansion handsets DO NOT EXIST outside of e-bay. Piecing together an expansion handset from the parts on e-bay has already cost more than the price of the new two-handset system, and I still haven't found a suitable AC wall power source for the satellite handset! If you need three handsets, ORDER THE SYSTEM THAT HAS ALL THREE and don't expect to be able to expand it any further!
