I have Lumia 521, Lumia 635 and now I got the Lumia 640. I was a big fan of the Lumia 635. I am currently using Moto G 2nd Gen which is great. When I heard that the Lumia 640 improved on that with 1GB ram processor, bigger and higher 294 dpi 5" screen, front and rear 8MP camera with flash, it was a no brainer and I had to get it. This phone really competes with $150 phones like very highly rated Moto G 2nd Gen and actually does some things even better. Windows home page with live tiles is better than my Moto G 2nd Gen home page. Battery life? Huge advantage with Lumia 640. Windows Phone Music player is way better than the sloppy google music player. Lumia 640 has 4G LTE and the Moto G 2nd Gen doesn't! Of course the Moto G 2nd Gen does some things better than the Lumia 640 like better speaker. I highly recommend the Lumia 640 and the windows store has a ton of apps (more than enough) even though it isn't as many as google store.

The Lumia is definitely a great budget phone. For the price, it has as nice camera and access to the windows store for app purchases. While not as extensive as the iPhone or galaxy, its still a great product.

I am slightly biased as I have been a fan of Windows Phone since the Zune days, but for a $30 phone (Black Friday price), you can't beat this phone. Full Office, dual cameras, all the major gimmicks of the bigger, more expensive phones, and it is rather rugged and light. The backs tend to crack on these, but are cheap enough to replace. The battery falls out easily when removing the back plate, be careful. It has a micro SIM slot, so if you have a newer SIM, it will fit, just have to slide it to the top half of the slot, but stays put once you get it in, and easy to remove.

this is an amAzing phone for a very cheap price. i used my att monthly plan sim & it worked wonderful. was looking to upgrade to iphone 6 but this answers my need already. aweaome 8mp camera you can use with the lumia app, camera 360 or adobe & the position of the camera made me use my real macro lens (not the phone type attachments, photo posted). the only downside is that windows store has very limited apps unlike iphone otherwise you can just pin the website and it'll be a click away.

This is a good, low cost and easy to use windows smart phone. It has a nice clear screen display, takes a reasonable photo, and excellent battery life. Apps are not my biggest concern, and they had enough to satisfy my simple needs.

Purchased this to replace my wife's aging Lumia 810 (which surprisingly compares quite well to this even though it's over three years old!) I've compared all the windows phones available right now and for the price, the 640 is still the phone to beat. The 950 variants are too pricey for what you get, plus windows 10 mobile is not quite ready for prime time anyway. The lumia 550 is actually inferior to this in a lot of ways, especially given it's almost triple the price, and also suffers from the same issues of Windows 10. The best news is that the 640 will update to Windows 10 (I've already upgraded my 640 to it) when it's fully baked, so this is definitely a "future-proof" phone. If you're looking to test the windows phone waters, or looking for a dev device, this is the one to get.

I am very surprised with the 640 LTE. Its a good amount of power for the price, you cannot go wrong. Fast, smooth, crystal clear display with good camera. Very pleased with this phone.

While Windows Phone has a very limited future if you just need a nice phone to use on ATT, T-Mobile of a Pre Paid (like Cricket) this is a nice little phone with a good camera. I bought it mainly as a portable MP3 player and used for that it is an excellent value compared to actual MP3 players or iPods. It can hold up to 128 GB micro SD, has a Netflix app, will play off MS TV and Video and will hold a ton of music and movies on its 128 GB card. No matter which purpose you buy this for it is an excellent value.

Full function Windows 8.1 Phone. This device is on Nokia's list of Windows 10 upgradeable phones making it future proof. Larger display and high resolution doesn't disappoint. The normally static task bar auto hides for larger display area, but pops back with a simple swipe up from the bottom of the screen. 8 megapixel camera with Flash. Front facing 2 megapixel camera for video chats . Expand system memory to a whopping 128-mb micro sim card, and move your applications , documents, music and photos to it for safe and secure storage. Replacement batteries and colored back covers are available. Great set of Nokia and AT&T: applications included.

Visiting websites returns the desktop version of the site, which makes text look really tiny, page renders incorrectly. Just forget it. Phone works fine for everything else--voice calls, maps (you can download maps for offline use, even use it without wifi or cellular, uses GPS), email, calendar. Battery gets thru the day fine. No google apps (gmail, etc), it has youtube though. Has a real FM radio (requires headphones for antenna). Replaceable battery, SD card slot are pluses.

I have used a number of expensive phones over the years from both Apple and Samsung. In my opinion this phone compares favorably to the more expensive ones. It does all I need to do and it does it well. The phone is very responsive and the display is a nice size that works well for me. The Windows mobile operating system is easy to understand and use. The Microsoft app store does not have as many apps as Android and iOS, but I found all of the apps I need to have a very efficient and functional mobile phone. Great product at a nice price!

An Amazing and Very Underrated Phone

I bought three of these phones during Black Friday and at $30 apiece these are the best phones hands-down under $100. For years I've tried android and iOS and I thought to myself to give Windows phone a chance and I'm happy that I did. The build quality of the phone and the sound quality of phone calls are absolutely outstanding. The 5 inch display at 720P is a welcome addition especially since I've been using an iPhone 5s for the last 2 1/2 years. I upgraded the phone to windows 10 and it's a lot faster then it is with Windows 8.1 out the box. I get great reception with cricket and I have no issues whatsoever. The only con I can give this phone is that the App Store needs a few more apps but other than that I have no real complaints for this truly underrated and underappreciated phone.

Great Phone for a Low Price, I really like the simple Windows menus and speed on this unit. If you know how to use Windows 8 computer, you can manage this phone. The unit matches the IPhone 5 on speed for a fraction of the price.
