This is my very first turntable and it feels very premium. I love the pitch changing feature because sometimes I like to slow it down and listen to a lower pitch version of a song. I also love the glass cover so I can see my records spinning. The only thing I did not understand was the weight but I realized I put on the weight adjuster on backwards.

This is a great item and features full frequency pickup on the stylus that is included with the package. Perfect for any audio application. For my use, I am using this turntable to cut records with and have it sitting under a custom built record cutting lathe.

Plays my old vinyl from the sixties and seventies so beautifully. Rich deep tones you can hear so well coming from the bass guitar, vocals and other instruments. I would give this a five out of five if the price was a bit lower and also the acrylic lid scratches very very easily.

First, let me say that I am not a DJ. I was just looking for a quality turntable under $300.00, one that was not totally entry level, and one that was not audiophile quality in the 4-digit price range. There is a lot that I like about this Audio-Technica - ATLP120XBT and a few things that I do not like. All in all, I think its keeper though I am settling a little on the features, it hits the target on my price range. Unlike the Denon DP300F, the Audio-Technica - ATLP120XBT is a fully manual turntable. There is no auto stop feature or auto return feature. So, when your needle gets to the end of the album, it’s just going to bump against the paper album ring of da thump, da thump, da thump. Not a problem if you are a DJ type and you are standing over your turntable/s and picking up the needle. But for me, I like roaming around the house while listening to my LPs which usually means, I am not there to pick up the needle and avoid hearing da thump da thump da thump. Even with that said, some auto stop turntables that I have read up on will keep spinning several times until they have realized the end has been reached and the auto stop kicks in. So if you can’t live with the da thump sound, you are going to want at least a semi-automatic turntable that returns the tonearm back to its holder, which means you don’t want this turntable. I am not exactly sure what potential harm can be caused to the stylus, but the sound just drives me nuts. Another thing I am not crazy about with this turntable is the dust cover and/or dust cover hinges. While the plinth of this turntable seems heavy and solid enough, the dust cover seems too light. So, I find opening the dust cover with one hand creates enough uneven lifting force to where the cover wants to come off the hinge. Either the dust cover needs to be heavier and/or the hinges need to fit the cover a bit tighter to keep the cover from wanting to come off. I also did not like the light feeling felt platter mat on this Audio Technica turntable, the Denon had a heavy rubber platter mat. And now for some good stuff. The Audio-Technica has both a built-in preamp and Bluetooth connectivity for connecting wireless to Bluetooth speakers. I find that the preamp output is sufficient to generate good volume and drive the bass and midrange well enough on my soundbar without any noticeable distortion even at higher volume settings on my soundbar. It also has USB output along with a USB cable so you can connect the turntable to a computer and digitize your records if you like. The back of this turntable has female RCA connectors as opposed to the cable being internally connected to the turntable on one end and having male RCA connectors on the other end. So, if your RCA cable fails, you can just replace the cable with a new male to male RCA cable. Turntables like the Denon DP300F that have the RCA output cable attached to the inside of the unit will probably require servicing if the internal connection is faulty or ends up failing, which is exactly what happened to me. Gently moving the cable where it came out of the Denon unit would cause the left channel to cut out, which I discovered when I noticed that I wasn’t getting left channel sound coming through my speaker system. When I took the Denon DP300F back to Best Buy, I tried to exchange it for another Denon DP300F, hoping the cable issue and low preamp output was just bad luck. They did not have another Denon unit in stock so I just exchanged for the Audio Technica. The plinth of the Audio-Technica - ATLP120XBT has a convenient indentation to hold the 45rpm record adapter. Some people may not like the aesthetic of the indentation, but I do not mind it because my 45 adapter is always right there, which to me is a good trade off. The tone arm holder has a lock that you can employ to keep the tone arm from flying around if you accidently bump it while changing a record. The plinth also has a nifty target light that you can point right at your needle which makes seeing the beginning of each album track line easier to see in low light conditions so you can drop the needle right where you want it. This is also a direct drive turntable as opposed to a belt drive turntable, so I am settling here as well. It is said that while you get less precise speed with a belt drive, you get more motor noise with a direct drive in this price range. I don’t listen to my records using headphones and I have yet to hear any motor noise or distortion while a song is playing so I don’t think sound quality is going to be a factor for me. I imagine that higher end turntables attempt to overcome this problem with motor shielding and using dampening materials. But, a belt drive just seems more intriguing to me, having the platter spun by a belt on a pully instead of directly by gears on a machine. To me, it is like the turntable is more of an instrument with a belt instead of just being a machine. A belt drive is kind of like strings being part of a guitar, and I really like that. Stretching the belt over the pully during first time setup also feels like bringing the turntable to life. So, belt vs direct drive all boils down to a matter of preference and consideration of what is more important to you. For me, I wanted to bring my records back to life asap without spending over $300. All in all, the Audio Technica ATLP120XBT is a solid turntable in this price range. If it had at least semiautomatic functionality and a heavier or more secure feeling dust cover, it would be 5 stars in my book, not taking into consideration my preference for a belt drive motor.

After trying to simplify a complex home theater/stereo system with all of its resulting cables and mess, I thought maybe it would be a good time to check out Bluetooth turntables. The audio aficionado in me shudders at the thought of taking an analog medium, vinyl, and converting it to digital while beaming it via Bluetooth to a receiver. Oh the humanity! At the same time, I'd like to put my turntable somewhere more convenient for use, rather than having to place it near enough to my home theater/stereo for cabling purposes. I picked up the Sony PS-LX310BT a few days ago and connected it to my system via Bluetooth. My system consists of a Marantz SR6014 receiver and Bowers and Wilkins 600 series speakers. It was as I feared, via a Bluetooth connection from the Sony to the Marantz, sound from my vinyl collection was subdued and MP3-ish at best. The sound from the Sony via Bluetooth was livable, but nothing compared to a cabled connection or the other turntable in my house, a Pioneer PLX-1000 with an Ortofon Blue cartridge mounted. Granted, the Pioneer/Ortofon combo cost nearly $1400, so it best sound fantastic. I sadly packaged the Sony up for return. But then, to my amazement, I was skimming the Best Buy website and saw the Audio Technica AT-LP120XBT. It was just like an AT-LP120X, but with Bluetooth. My son owns a 120X, and it is a dang good table with the price. Plus, the cart can be upgraded to something nicer. I immediately ordered a 120BT, picked it up and placed it in my system. It was a super-easy setup. Get everything out of the box, mount the headshell with the cartridge already on it in the mount, set the platter, break out my scale and set the tracking force at 1.8, and go through the Bluetooth syncing process. The result? Amazing sound. Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged on 180-gram vinyl sounds heavenly. Nice lower bass, plenty of thump, and a sweet, clear high-end that surprised me. Even with the factory cart (which is upgradeable), this thing sounds like a champ. I could not be more surprised. I've run several other pieces of vinyl through the 120XBT and found all of them sound excellent. Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream was full and warm, with just the right amount of upper level detail to make it exciting but not fatiguing. Bass is defined, not bloated. Horns on Miles Davis' Essentials album are front and center and realistic. The factory cartridge tracks extremely well. I've noticed no inner groove distortions even on some of my more challenging records. I am so happy to have found the AT-LP120XBT. It will allow me to place my turntable in a more convenient place, connect it to my nice home theater/stereo, and also give me the ability to connect my headphones. What a great sounding piece of wireless equipment! Highly recommended for the additional sound quality it provides over slightly lesser-priced alternatives.

I have had the worst time finding a turntable that doesn't skip like crazy. That said, i love this turntable. I would hive it 5 stars, but the directions were crazy to figure out, especially the plug-in part that goes into the outlet. I still had some trouble skipping until i accidentally rested it half hanging off the surface. Skipping gone. I am sure it is mot supposed to be that way, but I ain't moving it. Go figure. I appreciate being able to adjust balance of stylus and lever to lift and lower it. Andcthe sound!!!! Fantastic

As an audiophile (2 channel) snob, I was skeptical to buy this even for my kitchen set-up (I planned to purchase a more expensive Rega Planar 2) but the Cherry Hill, NJ Best Buy's inventory of turntables was decimated. I called Mt. Laurel, NJ (my preferred store) and the inventory was also back-ordered. Since I needed a turntable quickly, I figured for $300 I wasn't expecting hi fidelity. I was definitely surprised when I plugged this into my system: the stock AT-VM95E cartridge sounded clean and crisp, the turntable felt substantial (notwithstanding its plastic shell) and in the end, I think I got a great value. I prefer belt-driven tables, but the Audio-Technica direct drive is quiet and holds its speed. Set-up was a cinch too, though I would recommend newbies to download the full PDF manual from the AT website (it's not included in the box) to ensure that the anti-skate and the tone arm weight are properly calibrated. As a final test, I plugged the AT into my McIntosh system and swapped out the At-95E cartridge with a Ortofon Blue I had laying around and this table, while it won't win any beauty contests, delivers a lot of punch for the price. I should note also that I used a Schiit Mani pre-amp in lieu of the on-board pre-amp and they may have cleaned up the sound as well. Great starter and/or step-up table.

It has the essential features to satisfy a wide variety of LP enthusiasts (listeners who does not need to do DJ scratching), from beginner to pre-audiophile. Bluetooth allows to listen anywhere and while doing something, line out gets you connected to a wide variety of pro, semipro, home audio equipment; phono - for those who can afford pre-amps that can beat the built-in one. I compared the line out and phono through old Sharp power amp and absolutely happy with the quality of the line output. Bluetooth is ok, but cannot compare against line or phono outs. The best thing of all is that I can upgrade the stylus an the cartridge, which makes big difference, but before upgrading, try to adjust weight of the arm from 2 to 3 and see if that will make any difference. I like this turntable. It is priced well.

After having spent my youth borrowing my brother's turntable, and then setting aside albums, as most of us did, with the rise of cassettes and cds, I decided to join the movement back into plaiying albums a few years ago. My first purchase of a turntable was the AT LP60, and I really enjoyed the sound. I became curious about the potential improvements that might be enjoyed with an upgraded turntable. I moved the LP60 into another room and bought the LP120xUSB for my office where it would get the most use. I was very impressed by the new turtable's sturdy base, the overall design, and the easy set-up process. Best of all, this relatively inexpensive upgrade generated a superior sound that I thoroughly enjoyed. My only regret is that I couldn't get over my need for a turntable that at least had a semiautomatic capability. If you can forego the convenience of a semiautomatic or fully automatic turntable, this one is a winner.

I don't have much to say about this turntable. It's quality through and through. Setup is easy, and the sound is awesome. Bluetooth is icing on the cake. Definitely looks like a high end device. If you're new to vinyl records, definitely go with this one as an all around turntable. I've certainly have been enjoying it. With the direct drive system, I have no worries it will last me years.

Got a different turntable for Christmas and i had to return it as it was one i didnt care for. I picked this bad baby out in the store and Im so glad I paid a little extra over what my return was worth to join the mid level tier of tables. This is a great upper middle range unit with all the modern features and has a nice sleek classic look to it as well. I might upgrade the needle stylus but i dont need to do anything to it. Sounds amazing

Awesome turntable. I would recommend that if you want a great turntable at a reasonable price that you get your hands on this one. Reminds me of some of the vintage direct drive tables I have owned back in the day. I have several high end tables and I find myself using this one more and more and oh yeah the bluetooth is a really nice option to have and it is easy to use and sounds great!!

After many years of spinning vinyl on a very vintage turntable I took a chance on this much updated model and it has not disappointed. I highly recommend watching online video of the initial setup of the table and arm. My old one had a weight adjustable arm and anti skate as well, but the methodology is a little different because of the design. Once setup it spins vinyl really well, plenty of performance from the stock cartridge and I’m sure could be easily swapped out with higher performance ones for those looking for even more. As for me, the stock one will ride on it until I notice degradation then I’ll do the upgrade. The only negative is that it doesn’t have an auto return/off cycle. But that’s really a ‘nice but not necessary’ feature in my book. The necessary features are all there Nd some I’ve seen on some higher end tables. Oh, the only other complaint is with the dust cover hinges. They fit loosely in both the back of the unit and in the dust cover itself, no compression retention at all. When you go to remove the dust cover they both just slide out and fall. I added a tiny amount of double backed tape to the cover slots and now they remain securely with the cover. I also love the ability to select line out for direct feed to my powered speakers. I’ve tried the Bluetooth and found the sound quality lacking…but that wasn’t any surprise. Overall I’m very pleased with the performance, especially at the price point.

This is going to get audiophiles in a fit, but it's true; if you are looking to get a Technics for any reason other than bragging rights, then don't. Get this instead. You'll be just as satisfied getting this and upgrading the cartridge for a half to a quarter of the price. Never bothered using the Bluetooth feature. What's the point? If I want convenience, I'd be using Spotify. But everything else was just great.
