Here are a couple of comments after I tried setting it up multiple times. It's not difficult to mechanically install it. But you should know that it may not align smooth with your existing lock. Since they were not designed together, the coupling is not push-and-fit. You may have to spend some time to understand how to make the couplings frictionless. With frictions, automatic locking/unlocking would not work because the battery-operating movement is not strong enough. I also tried on setting up the auto lock/unlock. Sometimes it open/close as it was designed, but many times it doesn't work. It seems it has a Bluetooth communication issue with some phone models. The lock is supposed to sense whether it is in the lock position or the unlock position. But in my trials, it didn't consistently sense the position correctly though I went through its tuning process multiple times. I will have to check it with August if it can be fixed or replaced.

We bought this so we could avoid using the garage so often during the summer and heating up the house. It has proven to be a perfect purchase! Easy to use and the guest feature is perfect for our nanny.

The lock is perfect when you want to allow access to care givers, pet sitters etc without handing out your key. Can also track that they’ve been there. Wish it would give a little more warning when the battery gets low

I mainly bought this lock because its HomeKit compatible. Also because I wanted a lock to unlock itself when arriving back home which this lock does about 80% of the time. But I read that the company was sold and their current owners are not investing on it as much as before. When it works, its great, but that other 20% is annoying as this is a very expensive lock. Also, it seems this lock will not support Home Keys.

Extremely simple to install and compared to my previous smart lock (Yale Nest) this is 100% better. I've not had a problem yet with it after a few months. The Yale lock was a problem out of the box.

This lock is fantastic! I can access it remotely from the app or from Alexa. I can also use it manually. It knows when I leave and knows when I get home. Best lock ever! Feeling much safer since adding it to my outdoor wood gate.

This thing is sweet! I love that when I come home with groceries the door is already open for me and I don’t need to fumble for my keys. Also like that I did not have to replace my current lock! Super easy to instal.

So I would give it a 5 except apparently my door when fully latched shut for the bottom is too far closed for the deadbolt to fully extend. I'm sure this is fixable somehow. Anyways, the auto lock will throw a bit of a fit when it's been trying and failing to lock. A little tricky. Just make sure yall have a good door haha also unlock is just a smidge slow. Doesn't speed up entry, unless u sit in ur car for a min before u get out.

amazing lock for your house, easy to install and nice conecctivity whit the august app, the only problem its sometimes slow wit the app home of apple.

Well designed and simple product. They keep the app interface simple as well - red for locked, green for unlocked. The knob itself is a welcome replacement for the older twist lock we had. Very great choice!

The 4th generation is nice, definitely smaller than the previous, unfortunately it has a difficult time connecting outside 10 to 20 feet forcing you to buy the wifi bridge which adds 78 dollars to the price, so we shall see how well that goes once it comes in tomorrow.

Very happy with our new August smart lock. Straight forward install and simple to use. Also allows for those not up with technology to continue to use their key. Just feels like an added way of assuring security of our home.

This smart lock was really easy to install and the app is very responsive in unlocking/locking. I also bought a LOCKLY lock for a handle door and that took a lot more time to install. Overall every impressed will this lock.

Smartlock works very well, although it seems to consume battery life fairly quickly.

I got this for my new house with so many contractors going in and out. The good thing is that it doesn’t require internet or power in order to keep running though Bluetooth. It’s very effective and I don’t know how I lived without one. I opted for the keypad since that’s the easiest way to lock it. I wish there was integration with ring alarm to cut down a step.

So let’s be clear this lock is good with blue tooth but WiFi is not good unless you got a router that has WiFi 6 technology then it works as it’s marketed to work if not I nearly works with Alexa and Siri over wifi so if you have a WiFi 6 router then you are good but if not understand you have to get one and the lock is already like 300 bucks

Read a lot of reviews and consumer best lists and this one consistently came on top. Easy ti install and works great. Have had no issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. Highly recommend.
