Had the original August lock which worked great but was always a bit large for the door it was on. This one is much smaller, seems to have good battery life, and works like a charm.

after tons of research I came to find this would be best suit for me and Apple HomeKit system I use most and keeping it apartment friendly as to being able to use same deadbolt and key. every once in a while it won't recognize I'm home so won't automatically unlock but not the worst thing in the world.

I NEVER have my keys handy, and usually have my hands full when I get to the door, so, this Smart Lock has become my new best friend!

Pricey but its a lifesaver. Super easy to install. No more hiding keys under a rock. Hands full with grocery bags? This thing unlocks the door for you. Highly recommend!

This is exactly what the description says. Don’t have to worry about locking the door or anything. Use smartphone to do all of these features

I was very surprised at how easy it was to install. So far it works excellent. i thought it was a bit expensive until I realized the quality of the unit and all it has to offer.

This is a very neat smart home accessory. Can easily be installed on almost any existing door with a deadbolt lock. Great for apartments.

works almos plug and play, faster than previous models, wifi built in is faster than older with bridge. smaller noise is reduce to half, really recomend it

Living in an apartment complex makes it difficult to find a smart lock that doesn't alter the exterior lock which most apartment managers frown upon. This lock allows you to keep your current deadbolts in place and other residents are none the wiser. I give this lock a 3 star rating because while it gets the job done there are some aspects that need much improvement. The proximity locking/unlocking is absolutely horrendous. It doesn't matter what I have set in the app on my phone the lock never self-unlocks when I return home. And, while I have everything setup correctly, it never alerts me when the door is left ajar. If you own your home and have no limitations on the type of smart lock you can use I would advise you not to buy this product and buy one of the other smart locks out there.

Highly recommend this if you have weird HOA rules. Great smart solution for a door lock. Easy to install and works great.

I used the August locks for the past 4 years and was satisfied. So I bought this newer version and it is smaller, faster, a good upgrade. I definitely recommend it.

Great for lock. Also bought the keypad and it works really well. The installation was easy and the set up and use is slick. Really enjoy having this product.

Works great, very easy to set up. HomeKit support is a bit hit and miss for me but I haven’t had a single issue going through the app.

This has been a very good investment for our family. I can get into the house when my hands are full of groceries without digging in my pocket for the keys.

This lock was very easy to install and is super easy to use. I have a well-integrated smart home using Smartthings,Lutron Caseta, Alexa, Google Home, and Apple homekit devices. I have been using a smart lock from a different brand using Z-wave for a few years now, but I have had my eye on August for a door that wouldn't really need an exterior touch pad. This new model with integrated wifi seemed like a great time to try them out. Physical install was super easy - less than 10 minutes. The included strip of masking tape to hold in the exterior part of your deadbolt is a nice touch. Calibration and setup through the app had some bugs due to an Android app issue (I got my lock before the android app updated to support the new wifi lock). Switching to the more up to date iOS app made setup a breeze, and the Android app has since been updated to support the new lock. Integrating the August into my smart home was pretty easy as well. With Google and Amazon I had to set a pin to use when unlocking, but not with Siri for some reason. Smartthings can control the lock through the 'new' smartthings app but not the classic app. With the voice assistants you can check the status of your lock ("Hey google, is my back door locked?"). I shared the lock easily with my wife. I have not had a chance to check the guest functionality (not having anyone over during the pandemic). I also like that I can get notifications when the lock is unlocked manually - one of my little paranoid fears with having twin boys in the house. Only caveat I can think for this lock is that it uses CR123 batteries. This is pretty common in smart home devices so I have these on hand. If this is your first/only "smart home" device, just be aware that you will need to keep some on hand to swap out every 6 months or so. The app warns you when the battery is below 25% so you have plenty of time to change batteries.

August Locks are for me the best locks, they work with Siri HomePod, Amazon Alexa, and Google. This new version is also a bit smaller and works the same.

Love this as a safety feature. This is my new favorite smart home product. It was easy to install and works well.
