    excellent lock. everything built in. no hub or WIFI module required. had some problems adding to homekit,t hats why the 4 stars. everything else perfect. one of 3 locks on the market with door sense.

    I prefer Apple ecosystem and always wanted August smart lock for its HomeKit support. I jumped in immediately when the 4th gen was announced. Hardware installation was super easy and everything works well except the HomeKit integration. 90% of time hey siri or home app fails with a message "Did not hear back from the August device". August app works all the time but I think using a physical key will be much faster than using the app to lock/unlock every time. I will easily give a five star when the HomeKit issue is fixed. I am very happy with other features like auto lock and notifications.

    Smart lock with its smart sense makes it intelligent product in the market. I have set this lock with Autolock function, that locks the door after 5 minutes. With August smart sense, the lock decides whether the door is open or closed, before locking it. The lock opens when I’m approaching the house, so that I don’t need to take the phone out of my pocket to unlock it.
