good movie and collection , got it on sale last weekend

I bought a new 3D bluray player just to watch this because XBoxOne doesnt support 3D discs yet (bummer), but I must say this really raises the bar so high. It really felt like I was in there with the characters as they were navigating thru the jungles of Pandora. It would have been nice though if there will be a set which has 3D, BluRay and the features, extended scenes. Oh well, I already both those when they came out before so this purchase was really just to get the 3D disc :)

This is a review of Avatar 3D. Avatar is one of the best science fiction movies ever made, and one of the highest grossing movies ever. It was shot in 3D with the Fusion System, and the 3D is excellent, though there are only a few out of screen (OOS) effects. If you own a 3D Blu-ray player, and you like science fiction, you owe it to yourself to own this movie. You should know that there is also an extended cut of Avatar, but it is currently only available in 2D.

If you're looking at this, you probably already want the movie, so I won't review that. As for which of the several available editions of the movie to get, get this one. Both the theatrical and extended version are on the same disk, an impossible feat for dvd. Lots of extras and goodies. Until there's some hyopthetical super pack with this and the two sequels currently in production several years from now, this is the best edition of the film available.

The movie looks fantastic on our tv, very happy with my purchase just wish the sales associates manager there was a little more friendly and trusting to the customer. The movie was marked down in price and he refused to believe me and made me take him to where I found the movie at, once I showed him he seemed upset that I wasn’t lying. The movie gets 5 stars the service and treatment to a customer gets 0 stars!

The movie is one of the most popular of all time, so there is no need to go over it again. We purchased this as a gift to my father when he got a 3D TV. It was amazing and really showed off the visuals. I had seen "Avatar" in an IMAX theater and viewing it again on a TV did not diminish the effect at all. We liked it so much that we got a 3D TV ourselves and picked up the movie again. My favorite things are the 3D displays the characters use, they look so amazing!

Look no further to show case your Home theater setup. I have been looking for new movie to see how great is my new sony 3D LED tv and after searching online what audio/video enthusiast recommended this movie and of course its does not disappoint at all. The producers spare no budget to create this awesome movies, James Cameron really is the guy to go too for great awesome movie and story line. Go get this movie and see it for yourself, you wont regret it. I promise.

It's been quite a while since I've seen the movie - I never thought it could live up to what I saw on a true IMAX screen back at release. While, my 55" 3D tv doesn't match the 4 story tall screen I saw the film on for the first time, being able to watch in 3D truly was a wonderful experience. It was fully immersive, and I walked away with a feeling very close to the first time seeing it. This is a must own if you've got a 3D television.

Avatar is a classic movie and so much better without a million commercials. The quality is spectacular with beautiful graphics. This is a lesson in not tearing down nature and killing everything in your path for what ever reason. No I'm not a tree hugger.

I originally saw this movie in the theater and I must admit was not really that impressed with it. I was a little hesitant to buy this movie but I really wanted to test my 3d set up and this was the cheapest 3d movie at the time, so I purchased it. Watching this movie a second time at home just blew me away. The effects were amazing and the picture just looked beautiful on my 3d hd tv. Even the 3d was more amazing than at the theater. I highly recommend this movie.

Avatar is truly a marvelous film for the whole family. The visual effects are marvelous. There is an environmental lesson to learn here regarding the potential selfishness of some corporations that disregard the need of our forests just to make a profit. The 3D imagery was very subtle and could have been a little bit more pronounced to give it a better "wow" factor. Overall, it is a marvelous movie worth adding to your collection of 3D movies.

Great movie. Saw it years ago in 3D at a theater. Now that I have 4k at home I had to try out the Blu-ray version. While not 4K it looks fabulous on my Samsung MU8000. I do not have 3D but the Blu-ray is awesome and this set includes many bonus features, to numerous to mention. Just buy it! Killer audio: 5.1 DTS-hd, THX. 3 discs. Also a "family audio track" if you have little kids watching.

Love all the movies since the original was released. The first time I watched was at home on a beta VHS. This movie pack contains so much extra, and leaves one saying to oneself "so that how they did that...cool" if you are an Alien fan or never watched it, this is a collection you need to add to your own...by the way, for those who never seen the original, remember this "in space, no one can hear you scream"!!!!

Great movie but they have a picture that says collectors edition which it is not. Seems like false advertising

We had to get another XBOX because the one we had was like one of the first one's made. The XBOX 360 we bought is smaller but has more memory. We love it :) We also buy at least 2 or 3 movies when we go into the store, I think there has only been one time that we left the store without getting a movie. Best Buy always seems to have what we need for electronics and movies, plus we are thinking of buying our next T.V. from there also.

This purchase was a Christmas gift request. The DVD has all the excitement and visual effects that provides a satisfying evening in front of the TV. The package includes 8 hours of deleted scenes and an optional new beginning for the film. This is an exciting visual for all ages. Have the popcorn ready!

If you want to see just what your TV can do, this is the movie to do it! The wide range of colors and dynamic scenes make avatar one of the most beautiful pictures in quite some time. This collectors edition includes hours of behind the scenes and additional footage including a special extended version of the film with 16 additional minutes. A must own for any movie buff!

I think I may be one of the last people to see this movie, but I finally did. I bought the dvd set for my kids and so got to see what the fuss was all about. And I have to say that it was far better than I expected. Unique story and a nice change form the standard sci-fi and alien type movies. Brilliant animation and stunning worlds. Good story - sad, but good ending.

A beautiful story and a colorful masterpiece. Well written with state of the art Special Effects. Feels like your part of the movie. I highly recommend this movie if you are a science fiction / fantasy fans. There is in the works for a sequel in the making. I am totally now a fan of Avatar.
