I already own the blu-ray movie, but watching the 3D version on a 4k TV with a 65 inch screen is just fantastic. Hands down the 3d version is superior. It's too bad that more movies are not in 3D. It's an incredible experience.

What a Avatar DVD for the Avatar fan. It shows all the really interesting points about the story, filming, and the cast. Really helps you gear up for the second Avatar movie. Amust have for the serious Avatar fan!Lots of extras and hours of fun.

While 3D may not ever catch on as some had hoped, certain titles work very well in this format. 3D really enhanced the story on Avatar and that translates to your home theater as well. Beautiful and immersive...I'd highly recommend this blu-ray release.

The concept of having an Avatar with a healthy body is what makes the movie interesting. Learning about the culture through the Avatar and recognizing the richness of the alien culture is both interesting and shows us the conflict in a more empathetic way.

Loved this movie and we had watched on an old projection screen big box tv. So it was hard to watch as it was dark. Now we have a gigantic flat screen and sound bar set up, had to watch. Loved it better this time, so much detail.

I have been waiting for the 3D version of this movie to come back on the market, and when Best Buy had it on sale, it was time to get it. I loved watching the 2D version and now I can watch it in 3D, which really makes certain scenes stand out.

This is honestly one of the best films I have ever watched, if you enjoy sci-fi movies you will definitely love this film.

Fans will like the extended scenes. Packaging is kinda neat. It's presented like a book and has slide-out disc pockets (like Wall-E packaging) However, beware that it is not as durable as a regular case. If a small child was too rough, the inside could rip. As far as the movie goes: The Cinematography is great. Love the musical score. I have a few issues with the acting, but I tend to be a harsh critic. Sigourney just sounded too much like Ripley sometimes. I found it distracting.

Avatar may not be a complex story, and it's loaded with Cameron archetypes, but it's a gorgeous film with excruciating attention to detail. The 3 cuts on this set and the unending list of extra content make this a no-brainer if you want to own this movie.

We just our first Blu-ray player and wanted something that would really demonstrate the improvements of Blu-ray over regular DVD. Avatar may be the best feature for this, with amazing cg cinematics. Highly recommended

If you are looking for a 3D film which you want to feel the real 3D effects, this film should be your first option. I have watched it over and over again, but still it gives me the same great feeling. I strongly recommend to anyone.

Brilliant cinematography. It's a must have for any James Cameron fans, and a must have for any Science Fiction lovers. If you haven't seen this film you will be fascinated by the ecological, environmental, ethical, and spiritual themes.

when this movie was in theaters i didn't think that I would enjoy it, so i never saw it. when i saw that this special edition version was on sale, i decided to give the movie a shot. i was very happy to have been wrong about it. this movie is amazing.

Avatar was definitely a great movie to watch in the theaters and it continues to wow at home. It is commonly listed as one of the top movies to purchase for its 3D experience. This was my first 3D BD purchase. Great movie to have to show off your 3D system.

For the gratuitously entertained, watch it for the visually stunning effects and action sequences. For those who look for story telling and character development, be prepared to get a healthy dose of political subtext. Avoids overtly adult situations.
