Avatar: The Last Airbender blends top-quality animation with fantastic music, excellent voice acting, and the wondrous mythologies of multiple Asian cultures to create a show that stands among the numerous anime it takes inspiration from. The tale of Aang, the last of the Airbending Nomads and his journey to fully realize his potential and save a world on the brink of destruction at the fiery hands of the Fire Nation is full of charming characters, great laughs, and a complex maturity that can appeal to the youngest of children and even the oldest of adults. If you're a fan of Kung Fu films, anime, or just feel like there aren't any good action cartoons these days, The Last Airbender is sure to scratch that itch.

It's good, but I was much more into Korra. What gets me is the amount of people who say otherwise and prefer Avatar. The picture is in 4:3 because it's pre- Hi Def, and while the story is touching (especially the characters), I just gravitated more towards Korra's maturer tone. Definitely a must own for Avatar fans because... It's Avatar the Last Air bender! And it's also the best it will ever look and sound. Recommended, but I like Legend of Korra more.

I'm not sure what to say about this show that hasn't already been said. This Blu-ray edition does not disappoint and it looks great in HD.

A great series for viewers of all ages. The story has strong moral lessons mixed with beautiful animated action sequences.

I missed out on Avatar the Last Airbender series growing up so you can imagine that I couldn't wait to watch this. This series did not disappoint providing viewers with great characters who were ahead of their time, an easy to follow plot, and some great humor along with great action scenes. You can tell that the creators wanted to go a little darker with the show, especially with some of the episodes in book 2 and 3, but that doesn't take away from it all. Don't be fooled by its Nickelodeon brand and its kiddish animation style, this is a great series for anyone to enjoy. As far as the blu ray goes, I wished each disc told you wish episodes it had as opposed to me guessing and/or putting it in my PS4 to see which episodes it had. I also would've liked some additional features or items with the blu ray since this is the first time Avatar was put on blu ray. Other than that, I was extremely happy with this product as I have watched the series three times now.

After finishing the series on Netflix, I immediately set out to buy the Blu Ray set to have this show available whenever I am in the mood to watch it. Avatar The Last Airbender has many important values which are conveyed in its epic three season journey, Both adults and children can appreciate this show and it is a must watch for anyone who has never seen it before! Themes of imperialism, genocide, forgiveness, and many more are present and to me this is the best animated show I have ever watched.

Great series, housed in a simple straightforward container. Beautiful on my 4k TV and a blast to binge watch.

I have been waiting for a release like this for years. For those expecting to see a complete remastering of the series may be disappointed, as this is only an upres, but the the producers went as far as they could go with the assets they had and how the series was animated. You will notice some aliasing, but nothing too distracting that will keep you from enjoying this classic series. For casual viewers, you are in for a treat, especially if this is your first viewing. My nephews are enthralled with this series, and we watch at least two episodes almost nightly.

Bought for my wife who is a bigger fan but the packaging is cool and it brought back some memories watching.

This is such a fleshed out, well written show...even if it is for kids. There's a good balance of drama and comedy with some life lessons thrown in for measure and features a diverse cast of characters! The extras I've had a chance to view provided great behind the scenes info about the show such as the martial arts styles that influenced the various nations and seeing the voice actors of your favorite characters. No book inserts or anything like that came with the Blu-ray.

This is definitely a must have for true ATLA fans, but it's honestly not that much better than the DVD.

This is a huge improvement over the quality of the DVDs. It's not going to be Korra levels though as this show came out long before they were making it for HD. Expect the black bars on the sides as well since this show was made for 4:3. That said, the visual and audio quality is definitely worth upgrading on if you have the DVDs. Each book is on 3 discs, coming to 9 discs in total. The show, of course, is fantastic with excellent character progression and animation. Worth picking up if you've never seen it or to watch again!

This is a great series for all ages. Probably the last good cartoon that Nickelodeon made.

It's what I was hoping to find. Avatar on Blu-ray for a bit cheaper than competitors had it

Avatar: The Last Airbender is the type of show that will change your life’s philosophy. Charming, funny, silly, and heart wrenching this show will bring about a cascade of emotions. The pacing is genius and the writing remains consistent while also improving throughout the three books. The character development of the cast is amazing with particular emphasis to Zuko. TL;DR: BUY THIS SHOW!!

Thank goodness we finally got this wonderful series in HD. The DVD box sets didn't even appear to be remastered. They were just slapped onto DVD. There were jaggies and they did not present the series well. Now, that has changed. The series looks way better. That is great because the animation is wonderful. This is one of the best North American animated series of all-time. Ditch the DVDs and get this Blu-ray set if you're a fan.

I have been wanting to watch this series and decided to just purchase the collection. The quality of the video is great as well as the sound. it is in the 4:3 format which is how it was originally presented so it is fine as is. Sound is great but does not seem to be in surround sound, may just need to adjust my receiver settings but is nice and crisp as for what it has. I recommend this series and purchased on a price match on sale so keep an eye out for deals on it. Must buy!
