I love this bike. 28mph is essential. The difference sounds subtle, but I will never accept biking less than 20mph now that I have this experience. You will outrun cars out of a dead stop fairly easily. Materials are high quality. Assembly is easy, and a provided video helps. I'm glad for disk breaks, but I'm unsure why they aren't universal on all bikes. Bike rack is great, which makes this a true ready-made Commuter bike. They warn that heavy full-speed, uphill, low-human input biking can run the battery down faster, even to 20-mile range, but I find this conservative (and likely an industry trend, not just Aventon). After 150 miles of commuting, I've exceeded 20 miles per charge, exclusively at full speed with plenty of hills. Time and battery degradation will determine how this holds up, but a high-quality GE Lithium battery may exceed expectations. At 5'11, the medium may have been too small (seat height is comfortable but maxed). The diamond-shaped frame piece connecting the seat to the pedals is incompatible with some water bottle holders and bike lock holding brackets, which typically assume circular frame pieces. I hope that as the E-Bike industry matures, things like built-in lighting and GPS/BlueTooth security systems become standard - you have the electrical supply taken care of, after all - but given the 2022 market and reasonable expectations, I enjoy biking now more than I ever have before.

Great e-bike! Would recommend having a shop assemble if you're not familiar with bike assembly/tuning. The brake and derailleur tuning can be a little difficult if you're not familiar with what you're doing. It's also pretty heavy and assembly/tuning can be quite difficult without a solid bike stand to hold it up. If you do know what you're doing though, it's a pretty easy setup and you can be on the road within a half hour or so. The various assist levels are great and this thing puts out a solid umph even from a dead stop. Really like everything about this bike from the design to the inclusion of the fenders and rear rack, the hydraulic brakes, and the backlit display. It's not quite as fancy as the newer display on the Aventure, but it works just fine and I don't find it to be distracting at all. The layout of the display makes it easy to see what you would want to know quickly so you can focus on the road. The handlebars were a little cramped stock but I found space for my phone mount, light, and another controller for something I didn't keep. Battery removal is very easy and you can charge on or off the bike. It's pricey but I think it was well worth it.

this is a very good commuter ebike, it is my first one. it is easy to assemble. there is a lot of packing and mine still got scratches from where the front tire is packed when shipped, that is why I gave it four stars. the range varies on how fast you go, but still decent. the scratches are not too bad that's why I did not send it back plus I like the bike. I would defiantly recommend this bike to a friend.

Good components, fun to ride, great ebike. Assembly required might be a bit much for someone who is not comfortable with DIY already.
