My kind of Dark Knight! The way the screenwriter portrays Batman in this film is...just short of amazing!

What Anime Fans Have Been Waiting For

Batman Ninja was a Japanese only, original anime that took anime community and Batman fans by storm. There were a couple animated shorts made that just made this full length feature that much more enticing. The idea of Japanese artists putting their flavor on the Dark Knight genre is a dream come true. Look, I'm not going to spend your time giving you the history of anime nerd life. ( Some other time..promise.) If you love Batman animations and are the slightest of anime fan, this is a must have. Now I will say that as with traditional Ninja Scroll types, this feature is not for kids. Use your own discretion when viewing this with your friends and family. It's edgy. I don't think there is any nudity, but there are definitely sexual undertones and adult language is very much present. I honestly believe every Batman fan should have this in their library.

Fantastic animation, great use of characters, very unique Batman story. Batman is no stranger to the anime style (as seen in "Batman: Gotham Knight"), but this is definitely an anime story. Even if you're not an anime fan, if you love Batman, you should check this out. A super fun story! My only critique... Robin's hair! :)

I was really skeptical about buying this movie cause i wasn't sure about it cause it was an anime adaptation to the batman series but i would have to say that this was probably my favorite animated batman movie to bad it wasn't a series but its also good its not cause it didn't have a chance to get ruined by fans trying to draw it out forever.

This is one wild ride! It is a Batman anime. And they throw in everything and the kitchen sink from mech to samurais. At times, I absolutely loved it. At other times, I was wondering why they had thrown in things that didn't seem to fit (like the mech). But then, if you watch the special features you find out that there were different creators who contributed their visions, which explains why. The one director/writer was surprised by the addition of some things to the film. It is still quite a ride. I do recommend it. The style may be a bit jarring for some, but there is a lot here to enjoy. Best Buy had this on sale for under $10 on Blu-ray, which was too good to pass up.

This movie didn't win a lot of people over, but I really liked it. It has the action of One Punch Man mixed with the cel-shading style of Knights of Sidonia. But with Batman characters. It is also insanely over the top and dripping with usual anime tropes. The characters are Shogun style hyperbole of Batman's notorious rogues like Penguin, Joker (Jokah!), Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Two Face, etc. and they are all in 18th Century Meiji Industrial Revolution Japan. And it follows the warrior's path we so often see in Japanese anime with the protagonist overcoming personal demons to be the best that they can. Somehow a troop of monkeys gets involved and a huge robotic palace- just watch it, it'll make sense in context.
I highly recommend this to any anime fans, and even if you aren't it's still a unique spin on Batman.

Batman ninja seemed like a really cool concept and I was very interested in it. Popped it in and had no idea of the roller coaster I was in for, this movie was all over the place and DC let Japanese animators create it so it’s very anime oriented. It clearly shows to with all the crazy things that happen in it but is it unique? Is it fun? Is it amazing? Yes! Yes! Yes!

An interesting story line of time travel. The story was a bit slow in the beginning but picks up about a quarter of the way. All of Batman's major foes are present along with his many gallery of Robins and former sidekicks. The animation is a bit more graphically styled than my usual flair but enjoyable. Overall an entertaining film for the casual fan.

I purchased this because of reviews I've read online. Everyone said things like "One of the best animated Batman movies" and " This is how a Batman movie should be animated" etc. In my opinion, this was a decent movie. Animation was pretty good but nothing spectacular. Some of the movie looked like animated sketches. I was expecting animation on the level of Ninja Scroll or even Akira but unfortunately not. Story was a mixture of good and bad and kinda didn't make sense. Halfway through the movie I was wishing it was over so I could watch something else. I love anime and I love the persona of Batman but this was decent at best.

When I saw this while casually walking into Best Buy to look for printer ink , I was floored. Batman Ninja? I didn't even buy an eye lash when I got it. I got home and opened it and sat through it and was pleasantly surprised. I was glad that DC animated doesn't suck like their movies and honestly if I was rotten tomatoes critic I would given this a good rating of 88% or B+ . Check it out you will like this animated flick :)

I enjoy both Batman and anime, and this did not disappoint. DC took a very hands-off approach, so it feels like an anime. The one downside is that Batman did not feel as dominating as he often does in the DC universe; he often had trouble overcoming the villains.

You almost have to watch this twice to figure it out. Batman and his rogues are transported back in time to Japan and it gets interesting. Sometimes it gets cheesy but because of the anime element. If you like both Anime and DC, this is perfect for you.

Before he was the world's greatest detective, before the Justice League, before the gadgetry and unlimited strategic potential, The Batman was reliant on his skill with his hands and his bountiful willpower. This is a great take on the struggle for the soul of Bruce Wayne that we have loved for 80 years now. Plus, friggin' Ninjas are cool.

Manic is the word that first comes to mind. The animation is fun and fluid, but frenetic to the point where it's difficult to appreciate the character and background design and atmosphere, which is a shame given some amazing touches. The plot is basically thus: Gorilla Grod sends a contingent of Gotham's nasties along with Batman, Catwoman, Red Hood, Nightwing, and the two robins. Chaos abounds with battle ships, transforming castles, giant robots, a monkey army, mysterious ninja, and more crazy plot than you can shake a stick at.
Worth watching once to see if you enjoy it, but don't expect much substance to go along with the flash.

Batman Ninja is one of the most raucous movies of the year and the most entertained I have been in a while.
Overall, this is a film you should see for its outstanding visuals. Okazaki's character designs are simply astonishing, full of great moments of fun and action that will keep you hooked throughout the entirety of the film.

Worth it for the crisp animation style. Story has some elements that require a "suspension of disbelief" like some extreme fantasy anime (FLCL comes to mind) that border on the bizarre. Still great entertainment.

Very cool movie. It was on sale so I bought it for fun and also to keep it. It comes with a digital code so that's a big plus for me. The animation is really awesome. The movie actually turned out better then I expected. Item was shipped and delivered to me without being damaged. Would totally recommend it.

Who would have thought that taking one of America’s most iconic comic books heroes and making an anime would have worked so well?! It just works and it’s action packed and beautiful to boot.

I did not expect this to not include the Japanese version, but after doing some research, I was okay with it. The steelbook looks as beautiful as the movie itself and is well worth the price.
