The unit does not have any hdmi or digital optics connections at all. The input technology is out of date by at least 5 years and I could not hook any of my electronic to it due to the fact that nothing made currently uses the red and white cord hook up anymore. The cords provided with the unit are only long enough to get the speakers maybe 5-6 feet away from the unit. Which creates a surround sound effect for one chair in a big room, or a full sound effect in what would amount to a small dorm room. The touch effect on the panel didn't work on the unit that I received, which could have happened for any number of reasons, but still note worthy. Even when I hooked my vcr up the my tv and ps4 I couldn't get the unit to produce sound through the speakers. On the plus side, the blutooth functions works, and the speakers have decent sound quality and volume. The bass is good and I am currently jamming to some music. However, unless you want to use this product as just for the blutooth hookup in a small room, I cannot recommend buying it. For 250 dollars it just isn't worth being a glorified phone speaker. You can buy one of those for 40 bucks with much much better satisfaction.
