Meaning it does not transmit sound, or auto configuration is not as accurate as going straight to HDMI to HDMI.

This was for a secondary monitor on a staff workstation. The image quality is good and the staff member seems pleased with the ability to have two monitors to use.

connector for PC with HDMI and older monitor

It screws into the cable that came with the monitor where the older PC was connected. The HDMI end fits the new PC. It it working very well.

Perhaps I didn't word my question correctly. This works perfectly! I love it! It's great for when I teach at school and need to connect my laptop to the classroom projector.

Going backwards is needed sometimes

It connected my laptop to an old overhead projector and didn't complain at all.

I got this and it works great. It does not even take up a usb port.
