This is a great back cover and allows the smart cover to attach to the iPad. Have no complaints other than the price was a little high.

This product would be great if it wasn't such junk. I've only had it for a few weeks and all of the corners are cracking. It was never dropped. I see this has happened to a number of people based on the reviews. This product should be pulled from stores and replacements offered to customers that bought it. I wouldn't mind the price if it was a quality item but since it's not the price is WAY too high.

small crack in the corner noticed about 3 weeks after installing the product, not sure what happened, it was not dropped, it was glued and so far so good.

I had installed the case when I bought my new iPad. Two weeks later while I was at lunch the waitress spilled some stuff on my table and a little got behind the case and the back of the iPad. I gently removed the case to clean it and when I went to snap it back on it cracked about two inches in the corner. It is probably still somewhat usable, but I don't want the crack to spread and then be somewhere without any protection.

This shield works okay but it is made of a hard slick material that is not so easy to hang on to. It also leaves several gaps along the edges where the iPad has no protection. If you want to have the original feel of the iPad with "some" protection it is okay but I would not purchase another one.

If you're looking to protect the back side of your ipad without spending that much then this would be perfect for you.

I've had good luck with this product. Needs to be replaced after a year of rough use. Cracks on edges. Popping out occasionally since the cracks developed. Son dropped iPad on floor of garage- concrete- probably a good three-four foot drop- no damage. It did land flat on the back cover. I know someone who's iPad was dropped in a similar fashion without the cover and the screen broke.

Great idea. Looks and feels good. Unfortunately it never fit my third generation iPad. I took back my first one because the corners started cracking and breaking within 5 days of gentle use. The second one did the same but I figured that I would give up at that point. I see that there are similar products by other manufactures and that will be my next attempt?

The Belkin SnapShield looked simple enough to install and use. Unfortunately, that's where the simplicity ended. After a couple of days use, I noticed that the top left corner kept coming out of place. After a week or so, none of the corners would stay snapped in place. During one of my attempts to reinstall the SnapShield, it cracked. I would have returned it, however, the packaging was destroyed in the process of opening the product. Best Buy won't accept returns of items that don't have intact packaging. I tried to contact the manufacturer and received no response. I am extremely disappointed in this product that I paid $30 for only to not be able to use it a week after I bought it.

I originally bought this plastic back piece for my iPad2 , then transferred it to the New iPad (3) but it didnt quite fit. I loved it so much on the 2 that I got the correct one with the 3. I really like it, with the flexible front piece made my apple that feels like a wet suit and folds in three or four pieces.

Bought after I destroyed my first IPAD in less than a week, and banged up the replacement. Appears to be proctecting from minor bumps and bruises. Have not tested against a major drop, and do not plan to do that again.

I rarely review anything but felt the need to review this cover because I want to keep anyone else from wasting $30 on this thing. Although it specifically says it fits the new (3rd generation) iPad, it does not. I was able to force it to barely snap in but it would easily pop out and the corners started to crack after only a few days. After a week I found a similar case made by The Joy Factory for $8 with free shipping and it was a million times better. Don't waste your money on this junk.

I bought this as a compliment to the Apple Smart Cover for my new iPad because I thought it would offer good protection. I wish I had read the reviews here before dropping so much money on this cheap piece of plastic. After five days, the plastic on the back has already cracked from routine handling. Fortunately, I still have the packaging and will be taking this back to Best Buy for a refund. Do not buy.

Imagine, my most difficult decision was which color Belkin snap shield case to purchase. I settled on a smoky grey that accented the silver backing of the ipad. Maybe that's what Belkin wants you to focus on instead of the quality of product, which is shoddy. Mine was cracking within a few days of use. And that was use with kid gloves. No throwing around of ipads here! By the end of month one every corner of the shield was cracked, and by month two it was coming detached from the ipad on a regular basis. Boo, Belkin. Boo.

I would not hesitate to purchase another if this one ever cracks. Has provided super protection for the back thus far. Pricey, but worth the protection of the iPad investment.

This works in a pinch, however I am on my second one as the first one cracked around the edges. Also, I have a pink smart case that stains the back of this clear case when open. Wish it held up better with usage.

DO NOT GET THIS, It's simply a piece of weak plastic for 30$! It cracked the next day because I was holding iPad at the corner tightly, If you drop the cover while it's on it will simply crack in million pieces providing ZERO protection. The most expensive plastic rip off ever

This shield case fits perfectly. It feels great. The material is just right to the touch and eliminates any feeling that the iPad is slipping in the hand.

Do not believe any positive reviews about this piece of garbage. Since buying it 1 month ago, I have not dropped my iPad nor even bumped it on anything. I have removed the cover once to clean under it. Yet 3 of the 4 corners are cracked and the small connecting piece beneath the speaker is broken off. It is flimsy and easily cracked and broken. I anticipate it will hold together another month tops before a corner completely snaps off. For $30, this thing should get recalled.

This is the worst iPad case I've ever purchased. I have purchased many, many iPad cases for myself and my school district where I'm a technology director. It doesn't fit on the iPad - one corner never fully snapped into place and the tabs did not keep it in place fully. It cracked after 3 days - on the corner opposite the one that didn't lock into place, a small crack formed after 3 days. It's uncomfortable - all exposed edges are sharp and they make the iPad uncomfortable to hold. In short, this case takes an excellent product (the iPad) and makes it feel cheap, uncomfortable, and substandard. I have purchased and owned many, many excellent Belkin products in the past, but this one is poorly designed and manufactured. Best Buy fully refunded this purchase.
