Good air purifier. My only complaint would be the noise on high. When in low settings and Auto mode it is quiet.

Like many products, there are numerous air purifiers on the market today, but when it comes to Bissell it doesn`t seem like you can go wrong. This model definitely fits that stigma as I have been extremely satisfied with the air320.
The first thing everyone can notice with the air320 is definitely the overall design. This design fits in so well in nearly any room as I have moved it into a couple of rooms and it has fit nicely with them all. With the design comes the ease of ability to replace the filters. Also, the single dial is very easy to use and removes any complexity there may be when using the purifier.
Then as far as performance I have been extremely satisfied with the air320 in each room I have used it in. There is definitely a noticeable difference and I definitely have to mention how quiet it is as that was a major selling feature for me. This was especially beneficial when I had it in my bedroom, which is where I plan on keeping it as at first, I was leery due to the possible noise, but it is not an issue at all.
Overall, I can not recommend the air320 enough as it has definitely checked each box for me from the design and appearance to the overall functionality.

Loud, Impossible to Use with External Timer

Any fan speed but 1 is too loud and unit is not even in a bedroom. Fan speed 1 is quiet enough for living room but I am not sure how effective the air filtration will be. Our home is dusty(yes, we clean) as most homes with central HVAC are (I have MERF 13 in 4" thick HVAC filter).
So far, this units shows the air quality level as 002 to 004 which is classically "the best" it can measure. I can see dust flowing in the air under sunshine.
The other major flow is the inability to use AC timer/control with this. Not only it will not remember it's fan speed setting but it will not even turn on to "Auto" when power is restored. Stupid.
Another negative is the blowing direction. Even though the air exhaust is on top, it actually blows diagonal top/right. So if you put it to the left of a window, it will blow your curtains on any fan speed but 1. It uses centrifugal fan, so the air isn't pushed upwards but sideways. Then there is a plastic guide that pushes it slightly up. This probably increases the fan noise too, but allows the unit to be fairly shallow.
On the positive side, it looks slick, real carbon particles in the carbon filter (which I will probably never replace since we don't have any pets or smoke and dust filtration is my goal) and it is smaller than I thought.

Compared to similar items, this air purifier is a great value per square foot and gets the job done. We have noticed a significant different in the amount of dust around the house. We went from having to dust often, to hardly at all. We were so pleased we bought another for upstairs!

We keep this in the hallway between our bedrooms. My husband and myself get fall allergies so I figured I would try this so we don’t wake up with sore throat. It’s not too loud and doesn’t disturb my family’s sleep.

Ok, so I've only been running this for about 8 hours now in a studio apartment and haven't noticed any difference. There's still a strong smoke odor that has seeped inside due to the wildfires here in California. The air quality light has never left the green. When physically viewing the activated charcoal filter it kind of seemed like a joke as the little sections were only half full of charcoal essentially letting air flow right over the top. For my small apartment and the price, I really expected better. Does nothing for odors.

One of the nicest looking air filter/purifiers out there. Around level 3 the unit does start to get a little loud but isn't too noticeable with the normal daily noise in a house. In the evening when everything is shut off and kids are asleep it is pretty noticeable at 3.

As someone with a dust allergy, I’ve had a lot of different air purifiers over my life. This has taught me that finding one that does the required job isn’t particularly hard – but finding one that does so without you being painfully aware of its presence gets a bit more tricky. Bissel hasn’t completely solved this issue, but they’ve come closer than most of the ones I’ve used over the years. The air220 is sleek, stylish, and most importantly a lot more quiet than the other options I’ve tried that offer this level of filtration. And that goes a long way towards endearing itself to me.
Given that the package is basically just a fan pointed at some filters, it shouldn’t be a surprise that setup is very straightforward. Just about the only trick to it is making sure you open the thing up to strip off the bags they ship the filters in before turning it on. Once you’ve done that, just about everything else can be automated. A light provides a real-time assessment of the quality of the air being passed through the filter (going from blue to red) and fan speeds can be automatically controlled by the quality sensor to make sure it never makes itself too conspicuous. This is a feature I’ve seen in a few different air purifiers, but the air220 is the first one I’ve tried that actually seems to work reliably. You can still manually control the fan speed if you want, but so far I’ve found it to be responsive enough to sudden spikes in irritants like smoke coming from the kitchen or letting air in by opening up the patio door to keep me from needing it. The unit also gets points for the addition of a light sensor to let the thing know when you’ve turned down the lights to go to bed or watch a movie, at which point the fan controller will disable all the lights and spin down the fan as low as it can to prevent it from disturbing your sleep if it’s located in a bedroom. As far as I’m concerned, this feature alone makes it worth the premium you pay for it.
As far as filter maintenance goes, the air220 is fairly typical in that regard. All the filters are accessible by a large removable panel at the front which also serves as the primary intake. The perforations in the front panel can easily trap a lot of dust so it’s not quite as simple as just wiping the front clean, but a couple minutes with a hose or in the shower will do the job. The only real trick to it is making sure you lay it down on its back before trying to remove the filters to make sure you don’t end up dumping all the stuff you’ve been trying to get out of the air into your face. The filters themselves seem to be of fairly good quality, and with some regular cleaning can probably have their lives extended a bit (though obviously if you’re exceptionally sensitive to air quality you’ll probably just want to follow the suggested replacement cycle.
