Was bummed out that it didn’t say digital on the outside, then excited because there was a digital code in the case, then bummed out because it was expired.

A good 4k release for the movie. If you enjoy the movie then you should pick a copy up, especially if you only have the DVD.

I bought this when the Black Friday sales were going on and were surprised to get this with a slipcover. This is definitely worth the upgrade to 4K if you have the blu-ray version. This film does show its age somewhat with some unimpressive CGI but it is a great film with lots of great action, vampire lore, and an interesting storyline. This film doesn't get the appreciation that it should because without this film being made then there would be no Marvel or Superhero/Comic Book films being made today. It was the beginning of the Comic Book Heroes! I hope that we get the other two on 4K, too!!

This was the Deadpool of the 90's but with vampires. Too bad it was ahead of its time as comic book films still had the stigma of being solely designed for a rising geekdom. Snipes makes an iconic Blade and the storyline, although a bit convoluted, is smart and edgy. One of the few flicks that give vampires the nasty respect they deserve. Dorff is a terrific villain, creepy cool, it's sad his career stalled after this. Features some amazing martial arts and action sequences with outstanding practical effects for the technology of the time. The sequel excels as profoundly as the third disappoints. However, the original is one of Marvel's best flicks.

Blade (1998) is a comic book action adventure film from before the days of the MCU juggernaut. The titular Blade (played by Wesley Snipes) is a half-vampire, half-human hybrid feared by vampires as the "Day Walker". Although the movie shows its age somewhat with some unimpressive CGI, it's a fun film overall that is carried by strong lead performance from Wesley Snipes and a supporting performance from N'Bushe Wright as Blade's love interest. This is very much an R-rated superhero film, so expect a lot of violence directed at vampires and a darker tone than modern superhero films.

Blade has received an excellent 4k release both from a visual standpoint and especially an audio standpoint. The opening scene in the underground venue has never looked or sounded better. The movie itself has aged well overall aside from a handful of heavy cgi scenes that were typical from that time period, but the action is among the best you will see of any comic-related movie even to this day. Worth a buy for a first time viewer or someone looking to revisit one of the earliest of Marvel's successes in cinema.

I've bought Blade on VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, and now 4K Blu-ray. This 4K version is the best I've ever seen and heard for this movie. The techno music and action sequences sound amazing in Dolby Atmos with deep bass and excellent clarity, and the picture quality is nice and filmic, with a good amount of film grain intact and all. Can't complain.
If you're a fan of Marvel and Wesley Snipes Blade, definitely add this one to your collection. And if you've got a 4K TV and a good surround sound system, prepare for an awesome experience. Hopefully Warner Bros will eventually release Blade 2 and 3 later on.
Highly recommended.

Blade is half vampire and half human and doesn't fit in with either group. He has all of the strengths of the vampires and no of their weaknesses, except one: The Thirst. Blade has to take a serum every so often to keep him from turning to the thirst for blood. The vampires, in an elaborate plot, finally kidnap Blade to get his blood to create an uber vampire. Great movie with lots of great action, vampire lore and an interesting story line. In 4k, the movie looks better and is more enjoyable. Definitely check out the 4k version!

Blade, a classic action movie, a classic comic book movie, and a true innovator, having paved the way for the X-Men movies and of course the MCU that would arrive years later.
If you have never seen it, it's a must watch, as it's a great action movie and a great vampire movie. Blade is essentially John Shaft if he were a vampire hunter. It's even cooler than it sounds. The video and audio upgrade is superb, and very much the best way to watch the movie. The only downside is it's lacking in special features, and they should have added more for this new release. Essentially you are getting the same minimal features you got back on the DVD release and that's it. Otherwise it's a good product.

The movie is amazing among its kind. It is internally consistent and its plot and characters are full. Unlike other movies that randomly throws sexuality scenes, here sexuality and gore actually improves the quality: they subtly show the primitive nature of vampires. If you are a vampire/horror genre fan, this is a must-watch movie.

Ive wanted too watch this in 4k for a long time and now its available! Did not disappoint. Sharp 4k colors and excellent sound. The darks were perfect and reds were vibrant, when they needed to be (its a vampire movie, the reds better shine through).
Love this movie for it being Raw and darker than the other installments of the Blade (Which i felt were too CG'd) series.
This was a real treat to view in 4k and I highly recommend it!

I'm a fan of all three of the Blade movies.. with the second one being my personal favorite. I'm glad that this film finally got to see a 4K release, but the results are a bit of a head scratcher. A lot of the film looks great, but some of the close-up facial scenes, have kind of a waxy appearance to them. It's almost like a lot of DNR was applied to smooth out the film grain, it has a consequence some of the facial shots look a bit artificial. The opening vampire dance in the Disco looks great though.. and the Dolby Atmos track has some really good moments. This definitely won't be a movie that you buy to show off your home theater, but this is definitely the best of movie has ever looked or sounded in any home video format.

After 20+ years after it's initial release, WB finally gives the 4K remaster treatment to one of the best Marvel movies made of all time. From a visual upgrade, WB took the existing 2K intermediate and did minor enhancements in regards to resolution and color grading (e.g., object/elements in darker scenes can be more clearly seen and brighter elements such as the vampires bursting into flames "pop" during those scenes ). It's really in the audio department that this 4K upgrade shines as each gun shot, sword swipe, punches and kicks can be heard with impact through the speakers. Spacial audio elements are active throughout the movie enveloping the viewer in an amazing "wall" of sound. Buy with confidence !

Blade snuck by a lot of people including myself. If you are catching up with it, you should love this 4k transfer. Picture is top notch and the sound is very good. The shades of gray, brown and black is very appealing. Overall while a bit of a convoluted storyline it is good with the plot and action constantly moving forward. Great hero, great baddie, it's worth your evening.

I bought Blade at a good price of 17.99. The 4k image is very good with a film look. The picture is sharp with deep black colors. Skin tones look natural and colors for the most part were vibrant. I listened to movie in 5.1 Dolby low frequency was deep and rich. There was good seperation.

this is a high quality release, my only complaint is that the staff put the pickup sticker ON the slipcover & it tore off some of the graphics when I carefully peeled it off
Next time, slide the cellophane covered case out & put the sticker on there
