I actually bought 3 of these by the time things were said and done. I am using them all on T-Mobile. They are for sure not a high end phone. The 3 I bought are being used by 3 different people that use the phones differently. I will do my best to give a review based on the different uses.
I use my phone mostly for email, calendar, gps, and light gaming. My last phone was a note 5. I enjoy the seemingly less bloatware on this phone. I also like the Google apps acting more natively. This screen is for sure bigger and I like it. The screen is not as responsive as the note, but as this phone is drastically less I wasn't surprised. The camera seems to work fine with lots of light and low motion. I also enjoy the fact that I can unplug it at 3 AM use it through the day and it not be dead when I get home 14 hours later. Many days I get home with over 40% battery left.
My great aunt (89yo) is coming from an iPhone 5s. She really enjoys the larger (almost double) screen size. I can hear you now, how dare I compare this phone to an iPhone! She used it for 2 things: phone calls and Facebook. She really likes the larger screen to view Facebook in the evening. As she has only been in the touch screen world for 2 years she seems to do well with the screen as it tends to need a stiffer touch and she really pushes on screens! She is still figuring out and finding a good way to hold this monster phone and use it.
My wife tolerates this phone, but she uses it differently. She is coming from a Galaxy S7. She uses it mostly to chat with her friends, as a camera, Facebook and shop on Amazon. It works for her shopping and Facebook. However the front camera can't keep up with her face to use the talking filters in Snapchat. The cameras also don't take nearly as nice a picture as the S7. For me it seems like the cameras just don't focus the quickest.
Overall my recommendation on buying this phone depends on your needs. A nice general purpose phone this is it. If you need a media powerhouse this is not for you. Also included in the box is a cover and screen protector, very nice that to they were included so we could use them till we could get different cases from Amazon.
At the end of the day, I'll probably keep mine and end up doing something different for my wife.

I first bought this phone as it was unlocked and to me that meant I could take it from cell provider to cell provider without having to buy a phone for that provider. To me that saved me money in the long run. 2: It had a six inch screen as I liked that 3: I love the fact that it can be set up with a password to start up the phone, you know like when you put in a password to start up your tower or laptop? Like that. And after starting up put in the password to unlock the phone again.
Now here's my problems: The sound quality of the phone. You would have to strain your hearing just to hear calls. I have over 50 people ready to give sworn testimony over how horrible the call quality is on the phone. That also includes whether the call was answered with or without speakerphone on. Now I saw on updates that you could try to increase the volume but it didn't work. One workaround I found out was to use Bluetooth headphones or earpieces to make and recieve calls. Great! But then the Bluetooth quality was not as strong as it should be. For the duration that I have owned this phone; while listening to music on Spotify it would go in and out, same with calls. And then my lovely phone decides to ignore it's pairing to my Hesh 2 headphones meaning to repair it, I would have to remove it from my phone, turn it off and wait five or ten minutes then turn it on and re-link it again Bluetooth wise! As for the Operating system of the phone it's stuck on Android 6.01. I've contacted Blu about it several times and well they have no intentions for that particular phone to be updated to 7.1 or even Oreo. With my communications from Blu I save them as you don't know when an inconvenient truth may try to slip out and fall between the cracks. If the call quality, Speaker quality and the Bluetooth Quality was of a higher standard, I would have no complaints. Again I know that this is a budget phone as I got this to replace my Unlocked Apple 5s that kept acting like a tempermental child and would randomly reboot and I was not prepared to pay $300 plus to repair a software problem inside the phone.
So to sum up
Call quality: 5
Bluetooth quality: 4
Speaker Quality: 5
Having to endure people constantly telling you that they can't hear you or just hang up after you answer them: Unacceptable inconvenience

Not great as it is somewhat slow doing web searches, but is a good inexpensive phone for someone who just wants to call, text and do limited web searches or at least isn’t concerned about the speed in which it loads sites

I'm a power user, and work IT. So I demand a lot from my products. One of the good things is the screen size. I actually had a 8.5" phone before, so downsizing to a 6" device (like this one), is a bit of a disappointment, but it is what it is.
Overall, the phone is under powered. 2GB of Ram, 16GB of internal ROM, and it's running Android 6.0. The version of Android it's running is also not that customizable, which is kinda annoying. And the 13P camera quality leaves much to be desired (like color & sharpness ability). Too many blurry or out of focus pictures taken.
It's not a killer of a phone, but it's good for a burner phone (that's what I'm using it for). I had to buy it cause my old phone failed after 3 years, and now I'm waiting for the Huawei Honor Note 9. Long story short, if you need a phone with good battery life, somewhat decent screen size (6"), and most of all for a short while, this might do the job. Just don't expect it to do much if you're a power user like me.

Purchased this phone for my father-in-law, he had always used basic android galaxy phones (pre-paid) and with small screens, it was difficult for him to see. Not to mention the slower processors and limited ram. This BLU phone was a tremendous upgrade, bigger screen, less bloatware and so much faster.
The phone is a little bit of a learning curve, but as long as you know android, its relatively simple to learn.
has dual sim card slots and micro SD slot.
comes with rubber case.

I expected a very buggy phone but I'm pleasantly surprised. If you prefer a larger phone, this one's for you. AND being unlocked, possibilities are endless!
The sales lady told me it was running 7.0 however, and it's not, then another sales guy told me no phone comes with 7.0. Not true. If this updates soon to 7.0, it will be 5 star in my eyes. Good camera, lots of memory, and nice audio- now if I could just figure out how to answer calls before they hang up.

I've wanted a phone with a large screen for a while. The BLU Studio XL 2 seemed like a dream come true! The screen is great! Reading Twitter is better on this phone than on my LG L44C. But the real bummer is the sound quality. Even with volume booster apps the volume is still rather low, especially on speakerphone. The sound quality with earbuds is not much better. Seems a bit muffled. Over bluetooth the sound is much better. It was clear and crisp. Camera quality isn't great either. Here my old LG L44C with its 5 mp camera beats the BLU's 13mp camera. Go figure. Btw, other people had mentioned ads that popped up on the phone. At first I experienced that to but then after an automatic software update the ads seemed to have stopped. In a nutshell, if you really want an inexpensive 6' android phone, the BLU Studio XL 2 is for you, but be prepared to be frustrated by it.

Bought for husband. He finds it too large & cumbersome at it's size. As a smartphone newbie, he also has problems using it. However, my experience (brief) is that it's a great deal for the price, attractive & does all It's supposed to do without issues. I do agree it's too big for most, but if a bigger screen is what u like, this is a good place to start.

Bought this in Late 2017, decided to go ahead and make a review of it after I got an email asking about answering questions here.
Don't buy if:
GPS accuracy is what you need
Gaming is your choice for this
You like pure basic
BLU is one of the better value phone brands, but as a tradeoff, there are a few preinstalled apps that may not interest you. DEFINITELY get an SD Card if you plan to keep this for more than a year. GPS Accuracy is not the best, but I've had no problem with Bluetooth connectivity or audio. Honestly, the audio is decently loud, so at least there's that.
Simply a good value phone.

I was looking for a cheap 6" smartphone and the Blu Studio XL2 fix the bill, plus I was able to get it from Best Buy the same when everyone was going to take at least three days to send it. It is not going have the performance of a $900 smartphone, but for the price it is awesome.

This was a decent phone but lacked in few areas. Got a 6 inch screen with "HD" 720p resolution. Also, the speaker was poor. Had to raise the volume to max volume to sound just as loud the iPhone on mid volume. The Blur OS is very annoying at the beginning. Have to slide bubble to the unlock, then opens the actual unlock screen. Very annoying. Even after removing that feature, the unlock code is over the mid screen and have to use to hands to input code. I guess that's the consequence of a huge screen. It's a good phone if you really don't care, but it's hard for me to adjust. Good thing is, I inserted an SD card and give me an option to used SD card as internal storage. One big plus.

This phone is very affordable. The brand is so cool, bold like you (Blu). But, the call quality isn't that great, volume is not that high, and it's frustrating to answer calls on the screen. If you have few requirements though, it'd be alright I guess.

Nice phone so far. I had to buy a new phone cuz my other phone was acting up and took it in to get it replaced, come to find out it was being recalled. They had to refund me instead. They had no nice phones at that time for me to purchase. So went to Best Buy and got this one. I wanted one with a 6" screen like my old one and this one had it at a decent price. Only thing is this one only has 16 gb internal memory, my other had 32. But so far it's a nice phone.

I bought this phone because it had better stats then the Samsung J7 for a lower price. The battery is very good, I only have to charge it at most once every two days.
I gave it 4 stars because I can't find a way to upgrade to Android 7. But it doesn't come with too much bloatware, and I have been able to customize it with little trouble. I am very happy with the price.

I have bought this phone last year by Best Buy 23TH St. Manhattan, NY. It was with a reduction so I paid $ 100 bugs and tax. I use it now a year and it is still in excellent condition. Feels and looks fine. I use it only for comunications. Phoning, Messenger and WhatsApp. And of course the fantastic NYC BUS CHECKER App. Battery life is still okay. For this functions it is a fantastic. Gmail also is okay on this phone. I give me notice that the processor speed is low, but it does not bother me in the type of use.

I bought this Studio XL2 for myself. It is a good phone overall. I only use it to make calls, watch Netflix and text message. The screen resolution is good, not great. The screen size is 6 inches. So it's a big cell-phone. The phone is fast enough to play all of the apps. I highly recommend this phone for people that don't want to spend lots of money on other expensive phones that out there.

Got this for my son after using a couple hand me down phones. Impressive screen and resolution, not buggy and most importantly, not loaded with tons of bloatware. Can use 2 sim cards. So cool and affordable my son's uncle got one for himself as a 2nd pre-paid line.
