I had high hopes for this dishwasher as it is a Consumer Reports recommended model, but the unit is defective. It shows an E31 error message, which I am told is a malfunctioning heat pump. This is disappointing for a brand new machine. I will give Bosch credit for friendly telephone customer service reps, but not for much else. They use a service contractor in my area, and the contractor was unwilling to try to come when I am available, so I have to work with their schedule, which means a week before they can repair the unit (if it can be repaired), The first thing the contractor did was to inform me that if the problem was not a manufacturing defect I would be responsible for the cost of the service call, and the email from Bosch states I have a "credit" toward the repair, not that it will be covered in full, which leaves me wondering they will try to get out of paying. I would return the unit to Best Buy, but I paid my handyman to install the unit as part of a larger kitchen project and I would be out the cost of the installation. Based on this experience I recommend neither this dishwasher, nor Bosch.

It's so quiet I forget its on! The dishes come out immaculate.

At the time of purchase, the Bosch 800 series was one of the top of the line dishwashers. The door feels cheap and flimsy. It flexes side to side. The top 3rd rack will frequently obtain an odor and we have to clean with a cleaning product every 3 to 4 dishwasher runs (we run our dishwasher daily). The touch buttons are okay at best and the whole unit doesn’t feel like it will last us years. The adjustment legs are plastic and get damaged easily upon adjustment. We had our unit “professionally” installed by a Best Buy provided installer who damaged the legs, did not install all the screws, did not properly connect the discharge hose, and took parts upon leaving, requiring me to have then return with the parts. The unit is amazingly quiet and cleans well, but that will not be enough for me to purchase another Bosch product unless improvements are made.
