    Not Worth It

We upgraded to this unit from an ancient and cheap Roper dishwasher only because we got this on a discount. Even with the discount I'm disappointed. Right off the bat I was worried the 3rd rack would be a waste and I was totally right. It's too shallow to put anything worthwhile inside it and I've yet to pull something out of there and have it be clean. My solution? I took it out. This allowed me to move the center rack to its highest position and still fit tall glasses, leaving more room for bigger things on the bottom rack. Major improvement. I also don't like that the silverware holder can't be put in the front of the bottom rack. I used to be able to quickly pop open the door to add a fork, but not with this washer. You have to drop the door all the way down and pull the bottom rack out to access it. Boo. I thought the folding tines would be helpful--it doesn't make any difference. Marketing gimmick at best. Putting a glass in the far corners of the bottom rack will disappoint you. It will come out dirty on the inside like it was never in there in the first place. This wasn't a problem with my Roper. It's quiet--which is great--but combine that with finicky controls and it'll frustrate you. Several times I've thought I've started a wash cycle only to come back and open it only to find it cold, empty, not running, and that insipid display blinking at me. Oh, and that display? You can't see it with the door closed. So why bother with a timer display? Totally useless unless you want to open the door during the cycle to see the time and get water sprayed all over. In general the user interface is a pain. The "buttons" need to be pressed hard to make a selection. And I don't trust it will do what it says it will. The drying function? I have yet to see it dry anything properly. So... comparing my 20 year old Roper to this thing SHOULD be like comparing a 1998 Ford Escort to a 2019 BMW.... and the Escort holds its own quite nicely. I'd keep the Bosch for the quietness and lack of rusted tines, nothing more. Not worth the price, even with 35% off. Not happy with this purchase at all.

I purchased this dishwasher from Best Buy in October 2015. My decision was based on a Bosch built-in dishwasher I had in a home in the early 2000's that was great. Yes, this one is very quiet and uses less water, cleans the dishes well. The dishes do not dry which is a pain so you do need to open the door a bit so they can air dry. It heats at the end of cycle but this is not a drying cycle, it is a sanitize cycle. The top utensil rack is a weird configuration and takes some getting use to and if some utensils cannot fit there then you would need to use the utensil basket on the bottom rack that takes up a good amount of room. I removed it. Then there is a filter on the bottom you do need to unscrew and take out to clean every so often depending on how much you use the washer. If you do not then it smells. I started pouring a cup of white vinegar in the bottom when I complete unloading. This helps. For the cost I paid 3 years ago ($900) I would expect this washer to not only clean but dry my dishes. Another thing is the spray wands under the racks hold residual water that when you go to unload you need to unload from bottom up to the top rack or else they drip water all over the dishes below the rack you are unloading. Then once again you need to hand dry the wet dishes. If the above does not bother you then this is a great dishwasher.

I think I would rather have the type with drying element, sometimes there seems to be an odor if I haven't run it, I assume do to it still being damp maybe, overall it cleans well, it is very quiet, I do not ever put dishes in it with food on them even though it says no need to rinse, I cannot bring myself to do that, so that is not where the odor comes from, my dishes are completely rinsed, I also use a rinse aide, I like the fact it does not have the logo on the front, I liked that a lot, since I have a different brand fridge and stove.

The reason for 3 star : During installation time I found out some parts were missing. I have to call 3 or 4 times to get the parts. Bosch Customer service is not great they should have listened to the customer and address the problem immediately.

Very disappointed in this Bosch. Problems with things falling off and written instructions on machine disappearing. Hard to say this but stay away from this machine

Great service in store! The product works great. There is a odor noted from the material Bosch uses; company reports it will go away after a few cycles. Would give higher rating but unsure at this time.

This is a very quiet machine that does a descent job cleaning but is terrible at drying. Leaves the dishes wet even when using the sanitize mode and the extra dry mode

I expected the best when I bought a Bosch, but I was disappointed that many items did not come out clean. I changed out this dishwasher with a Kitchen Aid and like that better.
