Great Purchase - well worth the money

I purchased this with the Samsung - 55" LED Smart - HDTV to replace my 46" Sony. I was leery about spending this much on a speaker as I have tried other sound bars and didn't like them or couldn't hear them. You pretty much have to have some type of home theater system with any tv nowadays. I bought this to replaced the stereo with 2 woofer & 2 tweeters I previously used. Just turn down the sound on the tv and use just the CineMate for a crisp clear theater, right there in the action sound. You can't go wrong with this and you won't have a lot of clutter. I also go a price match for my purchase when I was signing on to post this review and saw it was on sale for $60 off. They tried to tell me that my 14 days were up but was nice and said they would give me the difference although I had the policy pulled up in another window that said 15 days returns. So I am happy all round, good pair and good purchase, can't go wrong!

Easy setup and sounds very good

The Cinemate 15 was easy to setup and is very compact in size, but has very good sound. I was impressed at the large sound coming from such a small sound bar. This replaced a complete receiver/EQ system with 4 large floor speakers, so there is some loss in the sound quality, as expected. But based on the size and capability of this unit, I was impressed. Highly recommend.

    Great sound for little size

We wanted better sound than our flat screen could give us so we chose a Bose since we have an older version and love it. I got this for my hubby for Christmas for our basement tv and he was so super happy. My only complaint is how tall it is. If you have a small frame for your tv this will block some picture if you put it in front of the tv. Our older one is lower profile and longer. I like its look better. I ended up changing them around since my other tv has a bigger frame.

Dont let the small size off the sound bar fool you, this item puts out massive sound quality. In fact, the compact soundbar saves me a lot of room on my entertainment center for other things like my Xbox One. I could easily recommend this to anyone else looking for amazing sound quality for a home theater system.

Was excited to buy this only to find out after receiving the product that the subwoofer is not wireless. Therefore had to return it because the cable is not long enough to place the subwoofer where it supposed to be.

    This Thing is Incredible!

Wow. Just wow. I have this in our bedroom with a 42" Samsung TV and the Cinemate 120 was what I was originally after. The 120 was overkill when I listened to it in the store so I asked them to fire up the 15. I was very impressed. Even more so after I got it home. Installation was a snap and it has a very clean, clutter-free look to it. The sound bar itself is fairly heavy and has rubber feet on the bottom so that one of my cats cannot easily knock it off. The sound has to be heard to be believed! I've had several Bose SounDocks over the years so I knew it would be good, but my word! I am beyond thrilled with this product and it is worth every penny I paid for it. Take a listen to one if you get a chance - I bet you'll be impressed, too.

BE CAREFUL!! THIS SYSTEM FOR TV & MOVIES ONLY!!

I don't want to say I never reviewed something but literally this is my first time ever review. Mostly writing it because this product isn't cheap... Spending $399 (in my case almost $500 with 4 year Geek Squad plan and tax) and then be surprised with unexpected performance from Bose, is shocking! (This is for Cinemate 15 product) Here is the bottom line, this system is amazing for movies and TV in general! It does a great job in that regard. Movies are 10 times more enjoyable, dialogue is clear and audible, bass is pretty decent. When watching TV, everything sounds natural and clear! It fills the space really well no one can deny that. Here is the bad part, if you plan to listen to music on this system as well, then you are in for a BIG disappointment!!!! I expected the same quality across the board but I was wrong. When you listen to music the bass is very muddy... to the point it is uncomfortable to listen to. You crank it too high, it's muddy and babbling about and annoying as heck. Lower it and it's like having the sound bar only... There is no sweet spot. Let alone the lack of lower range in the bass and some mid as well. I listened to the same songs I usually listen in my car (I drive a 2003 BMW M5 that is equipped with hi fidelity digital system from factory) and I can easily tell that there are things missing in those same songs!! Very disappointed... I really liked this system and the reviews convinced me to buy this but it doesn't fit the bill. Also as a reference, I have an old Bose Acoustimass 5 Series III in a different house that is hooked up to a Harman-Kardon receiver and it sounds amazing!!! I expected similar performance but they are far apart. The bass on the Acoustimass 5 (though it's old) is solid and superb. Clear and clean without distortion or muddiness. So? The plan is to get an Acoustimass system instead with a decent receiver. Best Buy unfortunately does not sell Acoustimass 5, they only sell Acoustimass 3 and I'm afraid of spending another $400-$500 to find disappointment again. Acoustimass 3 & 5 seem to share the same bass module and the manual online didn't state the dimensions. I would be very interested in trying one out! Best Buy should have more stuff on the display... It would help tremendously. I am sorry Bose but I am going to return this to Best Buy today.

I decided to upgrade my Samsung soundbar with bass module (which works great). So, I went out and bought this system. I am more than blown away with the clarity, level of volume and amount of bass that thing pumps out. You would never know there is only a 12 inch wide soundbar sitting in front of the TV. The second big surprise was the universal remote that's included. Within 10 minutes I had my Vizio TV, PS3, Sony Blu-Ray player, and ATT Uverse receiver configured and working flawlessly. This product is WELL worth the money!

Bought this unit due to limited space (width) I have in my entertainment center for the sound bar. Enjoy the great sound I get when watching concerts on AXs TV. Powerful Bass.

Quality & Sound Perfection for the Price

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this due to Bose reputation when the price approached the Samsung 3.1 system and at the advice of the Best Buy sales rep. I am not disappointed with the volume, highs, & lows it produces. As usual, Bose is a little arrogant when publishing specifications. I asked for the frequency response by e-mail. Their simple answer is that Bose doesn't publish it. Judging by my Onkyo 7.1 system, the bass goes down to at least 40 Hz. Usually Bose speakers have unlimited watts with micro fractions of harmonic distortion. You will not be disappointed in the stereo sound production even though it is not simulated surround-sound. You can also add a blue-tooth wireless accessory. But I use an RCA to 3.5 mm stereo "Y" cable to connect my iPod Touch, iPod Nano, or phone to the speakers (the Nano is not blue-tooth). I agree with the other reviewer's cons. The wires limit the distance you can located the sub-woofer. Without a sound level display, you can't return to the exact same volume level. Your other electronic devices have on on/off switch in addition to the remote. As a plus though, the universal remote attached to my Samsung TV and the DirecTV wireless control box so that all three can turn on with one remote button. I had to refer to the Bose Youtube video for remote programming help because I did not understand the instruction booklet. If the price is right, Bose is worth the risk because their products last a lifetime. I have 301 speakers and a wave machine CD/radio.

Very easy to set up. Use the optical cable if possible for better sound. Sub has a volume control for those who don't want to feel every movie/tv show/song like I do. Universal remote is great once you get it programmed. We set it up to control a Samsung TV, Apple TV and Verizon FiOS box. The instructions for programming the remote are not exactly clear. It was a bit of a challenge but now that I know how to program it will be easy for the next one. I plan to se 3 of them up for all the rooms in my home that have a TV. If you want clean, simple and good sound it's a good buy without breaking the bank.

    Bose Cinemate 15

I have had my eye on this system since it came out. I seen that it was a "deal of the day" on bb website so I went and bought it. I've had it setup up for little over a week and I am very impressed with the quality of sound from highs to lows, especially lows on tv programs. I previously had a Vizio sb3821c6 model, which is entry level and the Bose is definitely a far higher quality unit, from the sound to the universal remote. Years back I had a Bose cinemate system with two small speakers and the identical to this systems acoustimass module. I feel that it's been drastically improved. The volume knob on the back of the unit and the quality of bass/distinguished bass notes that the older cinemate didn't reproduce. The sound bar itself is very compact and sounds good, with the exception that it's spaciousness and clarity is only as good as the content being played. The remote also is well constructed and of high quality. I highly recommend this system, especially with the sale price.

What can I say, you just can't beat Bose. This little sound bar puts out incredible sound and the sub-woofer makes you feel like you are in a movie theater. Extremely easy to install and I strongly recommend using an optic cable connection. For the price this is really a great value.

Not as good as the vizio 5.1

I was debating on the bose and the vizio. So I put them side by side and tried them. The vizio 5.1 won out for me and was cheaper. I like the speakers behind me that makes it sound more like a theater. The bose sounds like it's in front of you compared to the vizio. Also surprisingly to me it has better base sound like the theater. Plus you can adjust all of the levels to make it sound like you want. The bose you couldn't. They say the vizio 5.1 is discontinued. So if you can find one before there all sold, you better get it. I was really surprised by the bose. I guess maybe if you got the higher priced one it would be better. But it would be a little over twice what the vizio cost. I love my vizio. Glad I put them side by side to compare.

Bose has always had an eye for quality. They have not let me down with this sound bar. It's and upgrade from a polk sound bar and geezz does this thing make you feel like your right in the thick of it all. Perfect for my one bedroom apartment and and it just makes my apartment come alive. If you an audiophile like me with keen ear for sound quality you'll love this bar.
