I love these ear buds! I tried my buddies out while mowing on the tractor and immediately went to Best Buy and got a pair. There's nothing out there that compares. Beats dosent come close. Don't hesitate to buy these!

Works great with Microsoft Windows Phone

These headphones are fantastic. Not only do they feel great and stay in my ears, they quiet noise on the plane making it easy to sleep. Of course you can still hear announcements and higher pitched voices, things you need to hear. But the main noise from the plane just quiets to nothing. I use these with my Surface Pro 4 and Microsoft Lumia 950XL and it works great. On the Windows Phone, the volume keys work and middle button activates Cortana. My only complaint is against me... I wish I bought these a long time ago!

I have never written a review before. But this version of these headphones is so bad, I wanted to warn people -- the old version was much much better. First, the good. If you are buying this for listening to music or for talking hands free in a QUIET room, then these are excellent. However, if you are hoping to have a conversation in any other environment, other than an ultra quiet room, the microphone of these headphones pick up ALL AMBIENT NOISE. They are literally impossible to use for hands free conversations on the go. I can not stress that enough. They are completely useless in that environment. Not only they are useless, but it annoys anyone trying to talk to you. I could not even use them while walking on a creaky floor, because the other party could hear the creaking noise louder than my voice. So now I still carry the old version with me for phone call and these for music. Having said that, I would absolutely not buy these headphones again.

Thank you for sharing your review of the QuietComfort 20 headphones. We are sorry to hear about the experience you had during phone calls. We tuned the communication microphones, mainly used for telephone conversations to the human voice frequency range. In a loud environment where there are voices in the background, it’s possible the microphones will pick up those background voices and bring up the gain. If possible, we recommend moving to a quieter environment. We appreciate your feedback and want you to you know we are always available to help! Our contact number is 1800-379-2073, we're open Mon-Fri, 9 AM to 8 PM EST. Thanks again and a have wonderful day! Bose

It is pretty good for flying. However, it becomes somewhat irritating after about 45 min. Great sound without turning it up too loud. I am able to hear the different sections of the orchestra without even trying. Good for all styles of music.

    Amazing Sound Cancelation

I purchased these about a month ago and have used them about 25 times. I don't know if I can ever go back to other in-ear headphones again now. The sound quality is great, but the best feature in the noise canceling. It seems as if everything around you just disappears when you turn it on. I also use my cell phone at work a lot so having a microphone attached to the cord is a big plus for me. One complaint that I have is that the power source on the cord for the noise canceling is in an awkward place and can get in the way. Other than that, the product is great. Highly recommended.

    Amazing

I bought these for my commute on the train every day, and for plane rides. The noise cancelling and aware mode functions are completely amazing. When you're on a plane with regular earbuds, the background noise almost overrides whatever you're listening to. With these, the background noise virtually disappears. Yet if someone is talking to you, you just have to hit the button to go to aware mode and you can hear everything around you...it's like magic. I switch back and forth a lot because I'm still amazed at how well they work in each mode, and the look on friends' faces when I have them try the noise cancelling mode is priceless. It's also great to get this quality and functionality from earbuds rather than headphones that fit over your head. The only downside so far is in windy conditions, the wind cuts through somewhat in either mode, but that's a very small downside compared to how great these are overall. Highly recommend.

I bought these ear phones just a few days ago from best buy. The sound is really good and I am really surprised by the noise cancelling ability. I also wear them while asleep because my neighbors play loud music. They completely block the noise and are very comfortable. Love them!!!

These headphones are absolutely amazing. As soon as they came out i traded in my beats for these. These are the definition of loose your self in your music. They are really comfortable and light. Great for travel and every day use. I own 5 pair of headphones and these are my go to headphones

The Q20s are the supreme of all ear buds. Not only is the sound quality superior to anything else on the market but the noise cancelling wows with similar quality to the QC15s. If you are looking for ear buds that give the best sounds as well as being a great companion for travel, the QC20s are the best.

I'm the type of person that has a pair of headphones for every occasion. Over the ear noise cancellation Bose for plane. Beats in ear for walking around. One day I bought these for my wife and noticed she took this pair of headphones everywhere. Of course I got jealous after a while and bought me a pair. One of the best things I ever did because I now take these headphones everywhere.

These are the first pair of headphones that don't require me to continually adjust them into my ears because they fall out. With the stay here tips they don't come out even if you tug on them. I recently took a car ride with some kids and it drowned out the noise from them, and the car, and was able to get some peace. You will love these headphones. They are worth it.

Good noise canceling, bad sound quality

    Posted .

Noise canceling is perfect. Once you turn it on, you feel like you are in vacuum. Do not cross the road with noise canceling ON. You will not hear upcoming car or horn. That is how good it is. Now, sound quality is not that great. I had other BOSE headphones and high frequencies were perfect. QC 20, unfortunately, has cutoff around 10-11 Khz and it drops high frequencies by 30-40dB after 10-12 Khz!!! Also it has very high Total Harmonic Distortion right after 12Khz. It reaches around 50%!!! Let's say it should be around 0.1%. Once I use Tone generator and crossed 13Khz, I started to hear double sound of 6.5Khz with 13Khz and so on, moving higher, I could hear very low volume of, let's say 16Khz, but very high volume of 8Khz while generating 16Khz tone. That is huge Harmonic Distortion. Disapointed with sound quality. It is not headphones fault, but attached amplifier (noise canceling unit) which performs very poor job of Analog to Digital and Digital to Analog transformation. But for regular folks, sound quality is good. I am just very demanding for quality of the sound because I am listening only to Hi Resolution Audio and expect High resolution sound reproduction which Bose QC20 does not deliver.

These are great noise cancelling ear buds. They allow you to hear important announcements while cutting out ambient noise inside the airplane cabin. Not only that, but they are wonderful for listening to music, calls, and watching other media. They are pricey, and worth it.

    The standard

QC20 are the industry standard for noise-cancelling earbuds. Note that the Android version is specific to that platform; some of the controls (volume, pause/play) will work on other platforms as well, but some of the features won't.

    Great earphones but they hiss

I previously had the over-ear version for a couple years and generally enjoyed them, but because they were so large I hardly ever used them unless I was flying. So when I saw the in-ear types which also have a microphone, it really appealed to me! However the noise cancelling aspect leaves you wanting... Ive had 2 sets of these in-ear types so far. I had to return my first set because the left ear would crackle when noise canceling was turned on. My second set works better. However if the room isn't particularly noisy, there's a strong hissing noise that is disturbing and its quieter if you actually turn off the noise cancelling. You can particularly notice the hiss when you're watching a movie and people are talking and you feel like you're trying to hear them over the hiss. However with it switched off, the sound quality also drops off dramatically, so you want to have them on if you're listening to any music, etc. in order to get the richer sound. I really wanted to like these.

I love the gym but but hate the music. I get a cardio workout just strutting up to the desk to ask someone to turn down the decibels. The last time I did that the young whippersnapper suggested I purchase what he called "noise dampening" earbuds conveniently located near the register. At $20 I did not think they would be an improvement over the 'buds that came with my MP3 player. Best Buy to the rescue, of course. I bit the bullet and spent my allowance on Bose. So worth it! Not only do they cancel the racket at the gym, they tone down the "ssshhhh" at the coffee shop. You don't even have to be trying to listen to your own soundtrack; pop 'em in, turn 'em on, and it's quiet enough to think.

    Very poor sound quality

After a couple of month using it I just cannot stand anymore sound quality of this set. Noice canceling is excellent, but in expense of sound quality. It cuts high frequency by 40-50 dB after 10Khz. Bass is excellent, but highs are horrible. All highs bits sounds like someone hitting just a thin paper. I though I could get used to it. No I cannot. Listening Queen SACD make it sounds like low quality MP3. My older BOSE Sport sounds much better. Lower bass, but highs are great. So my Quite Comfort will only be used when I am flying on the plane, otherwise it will collect dust. BTW. Highs are cut even by documentation. If you do research, and I did, but was skeptical and did not expected Bose will put such a poor sounding product on the market, I decided to go with it. It was a mistake.

I use these at the office to drown out background noise, on planes, and when working out. The only drawback is that there isn't an easy way to tell what the battery level is on the headphones.
