These work good for a connected set of headphones but not as a wireless gaming set. The noise cancelling are nice but you can get the standard set for a lot cheaper and work the same way. I returned them.

    Disappointing for a Bose product

The headset feels heavy and tight when wearing. The sound is awesome, but I could not pair the Bluetooth radio with any other device I own. I called Bose and spent almost an hour with them trying to diagnose the problem. The tech finally decided that perhaps mine was defective and that I should return it to Bose where it would be replaced under warranty, Heck no, I've only owned this two days! Back to Best Buy it goes! And if the replacement does not perform, over and out.

My son absolutely LOVES these headphones! The noise cancelling headset feature is great. No longer hears us yelling for him so we text him. This does NOT disappoint. He has been using them daily for over 6 months now and NO ISSUES.

Bought these for my fiancé and he says they are the best gaming headset he has. He says the noise canceling is almost too good (joke) but for real they do wonders. He says he can hear all the footsteps in his call of duty game. I would recommend these to anyone who wants to hear everything in their game.

My first impression upon seeing that Bose was release the QC35 headset with gaming functionality was "IT'S ABOUT TIME!" I already own a pair of QC35 IIs, and have always pondered the idea of bring their incredible sound quality into the fold with my gaming setup. While it's a bit redundant to have another QC35 set for gaming, honestly, I think it's worth it given the strengths of the QC35 in addition to the functionality they've built in for gaming headset use. To start, everything you'd expect out of a regular pair of QC35s is on tap here; supreme comfort, amazing sound cancellation technology, and great sound quality. I didn't know if they'd tweak things a bit for this release, but it does honestly appear that Bose may have had leftover stock and decided to repurpose them as a gaming headset. That's not a bad thing, since the QC35s are some of the best headphones you can get, even as new models continue to get released. The additions here include a detachable boom mic and a desktop control puck which houses a volume wheel and a "monitor" button. The mic is very good quality, as you'd expect. It works well and I've had zero complaints of background noise or sound issues in my time using these in both the gaming and professional settings that I've used this headset in. The volume control unit is an interesting feature. I really like this idea instead of having the volume control on the cord (which I find is always annoying). The volume wheel is quite touchy, as it has nearly zero resistance, but it works well. Side note... One feature present in my day to day headset (Arctis 7) which I ALWAYS miss when using other headsets is dual volume control, which allows you to set game volume separate from voice chat volume. It's not necessarily a negative since it's unique to that other brand, but I'll mention the fact that I miss that functionality persistently when not using the Arctis headset. The "self monitor" button mentioned earlier is also an interesting touch; this allows you to pipe your own voice back into the headset. I turned this off because I don't particularly like hearing myself in my headset, but there may be some who find this very useful. It's nice to have the option. There are some negatives here. To start, it's a wired headset but you still have to charge it separately to reap the full benefits. I can see the intent with which they developed this setup (broader usage scenarios where you can plug this into a console controller and bypass the volume unit), but it really would've been nice to have the cord for audio also charge the unit. That's a real bummer in my opinion. This comes into play because sound quality noticeably improves when you enable noise cancellation, which then requires you to keep the unit charged. It's not required, so that's good at least, but again, if this charged over the same wire as the sound transfer, this would be a non-issue. Another bummer is that the unit charges via micro-usb. This really does lead me to believe that Bose had a stockpile of these that they wanted to get rid of and decided to repurpose them. Nearly everything I use now charges via USB-C, so this is another annoyance that could've been avoided. Overall, this is a very solid headset. In the headset market, it feels like gaming features come first and sound quality, and at times comfort, is more of an afterthought. With this headset, you're getting the sound quality, comfort, and noise cancellation the QC35s are renowned for, with gaming abilities that are more of the afterthought. In this case, they work well, though, and give you a very solid contender in the crowded gaming headset space. While the price is a bit steep, one thing to consider is that you're also getting world class noise cancelling headphones that can be used outside the context of gaming. With that in mind, these are undeniably the best option for anyone looking to fill both roles.

Purchased as a gift for my fiancé, He said they’re extremely comfortable and the best headset he’s over owned! He said he would’ve never tried these due to the price but after using says they’re totally worth it! He uses them for gaming, music and taking work calls.

    Overall great with minor issues

Summary: Almost there! Perfect in about 99% of areas but there are a few minor issues that might detract you from purchasing depending on how much it matters to you. I’ll get those out of the way first with pros and cons. Pros: - Great Comfort - Stylish - Sounds amazing - Compatible with any device that uses Bluetooth or with a headphone jack - Premium build - Can be used for everyday use by detaching the boom, looks like normal headphones - Long battery life wired or wireless Cons: - Puck is mostly just useful for volume control - The boom requires wired use - Charges via micro USB Ok, that’s pretty much it. I was mostly concerned with the use of micro-USB in 2020 when pretty much everything else has moved on to USB-C. So, you will need to carry an extra cable with you if traveling. As for gaming, the requirement of the wired 3.5mm jack for the boom is kind of silly, I am surprised this wasn’t allowed to be used wirelessly. Moving on, here is my full review. Packaging: The unboxing experience is enjoyable. Inside you will a leather case with a fabric pouch on the outside for packing some cables, a 3.5 mm headphone cable, a tiny micro USB charging cable, the puck, mic boom, and documentation. Overall, they give you pretty much everything you might need. Setup: On a phone, it is easy, either set up via the Bose Connect+ app which will pair using Bluetooth or you can use NFC on Android. I paired it to my laptop and Android phone in testing. For use on Xbox and PC it is preferred to use wired as the puck only works in wired mode as does the mic boom (the boom has the cable permanently attached). The attached boom can be hooked up directly to the device or you can use the puck as a passthrough. Use: Audio quality over Bluetooth sounds great. When paired to a S20 I checked the developer settings and it looks to be connecting using either SBC or AAC. Both sound good but AAC seemed to have a little more punch to my ears. On a Macbook Pro 15, the connection was limited to 48khz 24bit when hooked up using the puck. I assume this is due to the USB interface doing its thing. When I hooked it up via the 3.5mm cable directly to the laptop, it got the option for 96,000 32bit float. I am not sure if this is the upper limit, but it might be limited by the laptop DAC. The boom works very well and has outstanding quality when recording. When using the puck, it stays in place with a good amount of weight. The puck has a great feeling volume knob with smooth movement. There is also a button on it to allow a certain amount of voice to loop back into the headset so you can hear how you sound. Sound quality / ANC: I already touched on the specs and fidelity. I used a wired connection with Tidal Premium to get the highest audio quality I could in testing. In practical use, it sounds outstanding. If you have ever used Bose headphones you will get the typical Bose sound you either love or hate. None of the frequencies appear too strong but there is a little more emphasis on Bass without being too much. Voices felt a little on the quiet side in comparison to the rock tracks I listened to. Drums were extremely punchy and crisp. When trying some Daft Punk, the headphones sounded like they were made for the song Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. The EQ just felt satisfying with all the electronic noises and bass. Overall: I don’t think anyone who purchases these will be upset or disappointed. The cons I mentioned are annoying but not deal breakers, they are definitely issues with attention to detail though. You can tell all their efforts were put into a few areas such as sound quality, build quality and versatility. Good job overall Bose.

I was very excited to get this headset because I’m just starting out in PC gaming, not to mention my work involves a lot of audio analysis. But I absolutely cannot get them to connect to my PC. They read “paired” at all times and they don’t even show up as an audio device, they appear under “other”. I updated my Bluetooth drivers and dis/reconnected them several times to no avail. For all of my other devices, they work just fine and are of great quality, but disappointed that they don’t work for the specific purpose I bought them for.

      Hey Ciana,
I'm glad to hear that you think the quality is great!
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing with connecting them to your PC. I would recommend updating the firmware using the instructions outlined here: https://bose.life/2IfJ4WF. I would also recommend clearing the pairing list on the headphones again by pushing the switch to the Bluetooth icon for 10 seconds, deleting the pairing on your PC and then reconnecting like a brand new connection.
      Thanks!

Awesome headphone! Even though the tech is a little aged it still delivers awesome sound quality, COD you can hear footsteps very clearly. It is totally worth having the plug in mic! And you can still use these as regular headphones!

Really awesome set of headphones. I've always been a fan of Bose and so my next gaming headset just had to be from Bose. The mic is awesome, and they act just like the normal QC 35 ii when unplugged and connected to a phone. The noise cancellation is excellent as well.
