HORRIBLE... read before you buy an "open box."

I ordered an "open box" 702 Signature which is supposed to have everything "as new," and it arrived in a beat up box with the packing all busted and missing around the tweeter, so it was BROKEN OFF, and make no mistake, it was SENT with the styrofoam BUSTED and MISSING, so this was GROSS negligence and stupidity on Best Buys part. I guess they don't care. They just write it off to insurance. Very, VERY disappointed in Best Buy.

There are very few places to audition speakers, but Magnolia at Best Buy is one of the few. I was really impressed by the sales people helping me. They let me bring my music, play it on comparable McIntosh power to my home system and spend all the time I wanted in making a decision on speakers that were right for me. The B&W 702 Signatures sound wonderful. Whether it’s quiet jazz on a Sunday morning or a full-throated Phish or Grateful Dead concert on Saturday night, they reproduce every nuance of the music in a fully satisfying way. Great bass response and a very transparent mid and high end. HD recordings sound particularly nuanced. These replaced some 20 year old Joseph Audio RM 25 signatures, which I used to love before listening to the B&W 702s. I am very happy with the 702s and plan to keep them for some time to come. One last note: when I picked my new speakers up, the boxes looked like they had been through the wringer. The pick-up people assured me that they were probably ok, but if not, there would not be a problem bringing them back. Well, the beautiful Dautek finish was scratched and dented in multiple places. God knows what they were like on the inside. I immediately texted and called my Magnolia sales person and he told me without hesitation to return the pair for a new set. The next pair arrived a week later and was delivered by Magnolia instead of me going back to put these 70 pound monsters in my car. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade. I am really happy that I went with the B&W 702 Signatures and with Best Buy/Magnolia.
