I purchased this item while on vacation. The item was working great for 25 - 30 minutes. While driving the holder ended up falling off the vent taking a piece of the vent with it. I must say I was not happy, knowing I followed the instructions to a T. I recommend not purchasing this item, if you buy one make sure it has a suction cup. Yes, it might leave a ring on your window but you can wash it off. Not a bill from the dealership costing more than the item you purchased. I would give this no starts if I had the option.

I have gotten one of these before. However, it lasted about a year. The vent clips broke off so I could no longer use it and had to throw it away. I got another one because the price isn't bad and it did last me at least year. My suggestion would be, once you have it where you want it, don't mess it, I think that's why my first one broke. I didn't have it tightened well enough and I was constantly adjusting it. So make sure the back is pretty tight and doesn't move around. All-in-all I am happy about it, just wish it would have lasted a little longer.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get it locked in to the vent louvers, but once it's in it stays in place. I had hoped to be able to easily remove the whole mechanism and put it away when not in use, but it's too much trouble. On my car, instead of resting against the bottom of the vent or on the dash, the bottom brace goes against the bottom vent louver bending it a bit. It has a nice mechanism to easily insert and hold my Galaxy S III firmly in pace by squeezing the sides together, then push a button to release it. There are a couple of flip out levers on the bottom to support the phone, which leaves a nice gap in between to plug in the car charger when needed. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it for $17.

The bad: cumbersome and somewhat fragile. The good: easy to use and can be adjusted to many configurations. I was able to squeeze this on to my trucks vent fairly easily. The stick shift taps the edge of this unit but it still works fine. Take care of this like your phone and you should be okay. There are many ways to adjust so it should work in most vehicles.

First off, the phone goes in and out of the holder easily, and it holds the phone adequately. The disappointment is how difficult it is to attach to the vent vanes in most modern cars. And it is even more difficult to get it unattached from the vent. I find it is not worth using unless you at willing to leave the mount in the same car and spot all the time.

I bought this to use in the rental car I was using during a trip. Installation was not simple and took me the better part of 15 mins (would expect 1 min installation). In addition having it sit in front of the a/c in the winter means yet something else turning your device in to an oven... next time I will buy a suction cup one for the window - just thought this would be more compact which its not. DId the job at the end of the day though...

I needed to get a car mount for my phone so I could use my navigation and make phone calls, hands free, on my phone. The Bracketron Grip-iT vent mount works by adjusting to pretty much any air conditioning vent in your car. Everything on the device is completely adjustable to fit any type of vent and hold pretty much any type of phone, with the addition of space allotted for plugging into the charging port on the phone. The padding on the clamping part itself holds the phone in place very securely while driving and making abrupt movements in the car or braking, but also has a release button so the phone can be removed easily. The device also contains an adjustable swivel head, so the phone can be turned or tilted for convenience. I'm quite happy with this purchase!

Needed a mount for my phone to make it easy to use my phone as a GPS without having to have it sit in my lap. This mount is pretty good. It is just cheap plastic but oh well. My vents are horizontal. Not to sure if it would work with vertical slotted vents.

I was looking for a mount that sucks on to the dash board but some how picked this up. It's not very sturdy on the vent but I just use it on long trips to sit my phone in while I use the gps in it. It holds it steady enough for me to see it.

I wanted to rate this product 5 stars but I had so much difficulty mounting it. The clips were not easy to attach to the vent. Once I got it in, it fit perfectly snug and my phone fit well in it. No slipping.

It works great, and pretty simple to know the proper way to install. Good, but just basic. Great for the process of $10, but probably not more than that

Can easily be knocked out of vent. Fits most car vents. This holds the phone tight. Easy to use and install. This meets requirement for hands free driving which is required in most states.

I was looking for a mount for different items, ipod & phone. For a reasonable price this product fit the bill. Vent mount is solid and puts device closer to driver for ease of handling.

The Bracketron Grip-It Car Vent Mount holds my iPhone very easily and is easily removed. It is a little oversized for standard phones, but will hold a phablet also.

The springs were very tight, which was probably done to provide a firm fit but the plastic piece you need to pull back on to open up the clamp barely provided enough leverage and was difficult to pull fully back to engage on the vent. After installation it worked fine, but, when my wife attempted to reposition it one of the brackets snapped off as she attempted to squeeze the spring. Purchased a competitive product at Target which was much easier to install. The new one used a magnet to secure the phone as opposed to brackets which if you hit a really good bump your phone can fall but my wife likes it better for easy of use

This is a great product, once you get it setup. Takes a bit of time to get it placed just right, but once you do, your good.

Easy to use and install. This was one of the least expensive ones I could find and it gets the job done.

I really like it. It was easy to install and it works well with both my phone both and GPS.

My son didn't like the vent style. It didn't stay on the vent and kept falling off. Returned it and purchased a suction cup for both dash and window and my son uses the dash.

It's good to holding your phone when use for GPS, easy to adjust, fit size, price.
