This base works well for keeping it low and out of my sight of view. As I don't have a smooth flat dash, it did tend to slide a little. Used a phone mat under it and now it doesn't move at all.

Not good for smaller cars

My dashboard is really not suited for dash mounted device, so I have not been able to put it to good use. It sits well on the dash – I just do not have enough room. I will likely use this in my wife’s sport utility vehicle when I borrow it. I fits well, and the cost is good, which is why I did not rush to return my opened package. I can recommend it, regardless.
