You have to hold the phone in one hand while trying to close it in the holder with the other hand by pushing and sliding the adjustment lever of the holder that's behind the phone. Then try and open the clip to put the whole mechanism onto one of the vent slats. Very difficult, as while trying to do that without the phone popping out of the holder. And the phone falls out of it the minute you hit a bump. Don't buy.

The lever on the mount is meant to be adjusted to a precise position so that your phone can easily be clicked in place and pulled out without adjusting the lever again. The mount is designed so that you only have to adjust the lever once to fit your phone, and then it can be clicked in and out of place with one hand.
