I didn’t think that there were that many differences between toaster ovens, but I was wrong! I bought one from Kitchen Aid, it lasted 10 days, I just stopped working, no heat. I replaced it with the Breville and oh my, I just love it! Size, quality, features, even little things like the magnet on the door that pulls out your pizza pan. This oven was twice as expensive as my first one, but worth the money, I have no regrets!

Family of 5 (and a mother in law who frequently comes to dinner). We have double wall ovens but this still gets a ton of use. It’s quick and easy to use for a batch of brownies, dinner rolls, cookies, homemade pizzas, etc.
The toast feature takes a little longer but does so much better than a $50-60 toaster.
The air fryer is ok but honestly we have a deep fryer and overall are not a fan of air fryers. It’s still nice the kids can use it to make themselves a quick lunch or heat something up. It’s a good air fryer…not a great one but again, we don’t care that much since we prefer deep frying.

We had another major brand flip up model and really loved it but at 2 years the upper element went out so we bought another one but when we got it home the upper element didn't work at all so we took it back and bought this one. If one of your main uses for it will be making toast I would not purchase this unit, the elements are so far away for the toast it takes forever and dries out the toast too much, but for every other feature the large size and easy to use controls make it an excellent choice, it even a bread proofer setting which is great. And customer service with this company is great. At 25 days ours developed a malfunction after calling their 800 number and doing some over the phone trouble shooting they said that it needed to be sent back for warranty repairs, within a few days I received a box and packing materials to send it back, dropped it off at UPS and got an email the other day saying the repair had been made and it was on its why back (all in less that 3 weeks) so they don't work off of a back log of repairs (says something good about their product

I bought this oven after some research, as the reviews I read said it was worth the somewhat lofty price for a countertop oven. I was replacing a smaller toaster/convection oven that had worn out. Wow! We very rarely use the big oven any longer! The quality and performance made this a bargain! From baking to reheating to toasting; everything we cook in this oven is perfection. Add to that the ease of operation and ease to clean! I have used it daily for several months before reviewing. Highly recommend!

Loving this oven, design and performance!
Breville also gave us amazing costumer service. Soon after purchase, someone broke the lower back element. This was their fault and nothing to do with the oven. But Breville replaced the element at no cost. I thought this was incredible customer service and wanted to write this review in appreciation. Despite it being user error, they went the extra mile and I am thrilled to use this work horse in my kitchen.

My Breville Smart Oven is the best countertop oven I have ever purchased. I have been buying “toaster ovens” for over 50 years and finally found the perfect match for my kitchen. It is a very well made, multipurpose, and easy to clean smart countertop oven. I use it multiple times every day for toasting, cooking, baking, and reheating instead of my big oven. It heats up quicker and automatically turns of after cooking the meal.
Well worth the purchase price!

It took me forever to convince myself to pay this much for a toaster over, but I have been living for years with just a microwave and hot plate. I'm glad I took a chance. What I missed most about having an oven was for baking goodies like cakes and pies. This works great for that! I learned though not to use convection for everything. But I loved the convection when baking several batches of ratatouille. Tops were browned as well as bottoms. For my apartment, this is the right size, but I almost wish I would have gotten the larger model (so I can cook more at once). The instructions are great, but they do help (especially pan placement). I seen some reviews where people complained that this was loud, but I don't know what they are talking about--yes, with the convection turned on, there is a fan that's blowing, but it's not loud at all (I was expecting Jets overhead kind of loudness from those reviews). I've only had this a few weeks, but have made pies, turnovers, all sorts of vegetable dishes, and cookies. I have yet to do anything with meat or pizza. While I like those presets, I feel like have more control just using the bake setting. I'm completely happy I bought it!

I’ve been using the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro for a while now, and it’s easily the most versatile countertop appliance I’ve owned. It combines the functions of an air fryer, toaster oven, pizza oven, dehydrator, and more—all in one sleek stainless steel unit.
- Cooking Performance: Everything comes out evenly cooked thanks to the Element IQ heating system. Air frying delivers crispy results without excess oil, and the pizza mode makes homemade pies taste restaurant-quality.
- Capacity: The oven is surprisingly spacious. It fits a 13-inch pizza, a full baking pan, or even a small turkey, which makes it perfect for family meals.
>Ease of Use: The LCD display and presets are intuitive, and I appreciate the included accessories like the air-fry basket and pizza pan.
>Build Quality: Solid and durable, though it does take up a fair amount of counter space.

I love this oven. It heats up quickly, it's temperature is accurate, it's quiet (despite what other posters have written). I read the manual several times, so I know how to use it properly. That matters because one should know things like rack position, whether to use convection (or super-convection), whether to use "bake" or "roast", and so forth. I also enjoy the air fryer, which is new to me. Yes, it really crisps up those fries as well as eggplant slices for parmesan. I clean it as best as I can, but like any oven, it's going to accumulate some "schmutz" that's hard to clean. It is what it is. Yes, buy it!

really like this Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro... surprisingly, we haven't used it as much for air frying as we thought we would. instead, we've used the slow cook feature more and the toast function the most. having just bought it not that long ago, we haven't had too much experience with it and have yet to use all of the functions. but it works well... having said that, because it has SO many functions it is as they say a jack of all trades, a master of none. take for instance the toast function. it works but it's not the best at it. sure, it's good that you can customize how dark you want your toast and the number of slices. the thing is it doesn't toast evenly for all pieces of toast depending on where it's placed on the pan. we haven't dialed that in just yet for how to make sure the toast is more consistent for all pieces. i think with more experience we'll be better able to determine this. for certain other functions where the convection option is avail, the consistent cooking is probably better handled. all in all, we're satisfied with the product

We use the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro multiple times a day, and it has easily become a staple in our kitchen. With a generous internal capacity, it accommodates everything from large trays of vegetables to family-sized pizzas or full chicken roasts without feeling cramped. The versatility is impressive: with 13 pre-programmed settings and a “super-convection” airflow system, it can function as a toaster oven, an air fryer, a pizza oven, a dehydrator—whatever the meal demands. The build is solid, the controls are intuitive and reliable, and the “Element IQ” heat-distribution system ensures consistent results with minimal fuss. Cleaning is straightforward too—removable pans and trays make maintenance quick and painless. In short: easy to use, dependable, and flexible enough to handle whatever meal challenge arises during the day.

I absolutely love my Breville Smart Oven! I picked it up at a great price during Black Friday, and it has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen appliances.
It cooks food evenly and consistently, delivering reliable results every time. With so many versatile options—from roasting and baking to air frying and dehydrating—it makes experimenting with new recipes fun and easy.
Having this oven alongside my main one was a lifesaver during the holidays—it felt like I had a professional two-oven setup right at home. It’s also been perfect for supporting my healthy diet, since I can prepare a wide variety of meals with precision. Overall, it’s reliable, versatile, and makes every meal feel special. Highly recommend!

Fantastic product! When I discovered this extra large size I had to get it for my kitchenette. I’m able to fit full casserole pans, half sized cookie sheets, and even my Dutch oven in there. The timer can be set to hours vs just minutes on other toaster ovens. This countertop oven is designed to handle way more cooking than any others I’ve seen on the market and I know of some super impressive home chefs who use it religiously. Durability seems good so far but I’m not thru my first year of owning it. Easy to clean and looks pretty on my counter.

This Breville convection oven is very easy to use. The dials and cooking options are user friendly. I've used heat settings up to 450 degrees, and the oven has handled that with no problem. This oven has replaced my range oven.
One important item to note: When the oven is in use, it needs sufficient space on all sides. I have limited counter space, so I store the oven in a corner of my counter, and I pull it out when I use it so it will have the external space it needs. The oven is large, but it is still light enough and of dimensions that I can carefully pick it up and move it when cleaning the counters.
I bought this Breville convection oven because I wanted to do more cooking, and I dislike using the range oven because it makes the kitchen hot. The oven gets hot on the outside but does not heat the kitchen. This oven has been perfect for my needs.

Works well as an air fryer and a regular oven

The one negative is that it's not as good as our regular toaster oven for toasting - it's slower, and because the whole thing has to heat up, probably less efficient.
But it's great at air frying as well as everything else an oven does. It only takes about 4-1/2 minutes to heat up to 425˚, compared to at least 15 for our regular oven.
I've been using it almost every day. It's very easy and intuitive to use, and I've been very happy with the results.
It seems that some of the negative comments are because of the original list price, which isn't current. Of course it's more expansive than a small stand-alone air fryer, but it's much more versatile - without giving up the quality of its air frying.

This oven is great in function and style! Super easy to use. I've never been a great cook or felt comfortable in the kitchen since I didn't grow up with the knowledge. But this oven makes it fun and easy!
So far I baked a pumpkin pie that came out to perfection - evenly cooked throughout. My first ever this past holiday season.
I've been dabbling with other recipes such as homemade pizza, cookies, muffins, cakes, baked chicken, and salmon. All of which come out very tasty!
I'm having loads of fun with this oven. I never would have thought I would enjoy being in the kitchen and consider myself competent in there. The preprogrammed settings are very helpful! Clean-up is fast and easy. The downside of all this is now I have to burn-up more calories in my exercise program!

This Breville Smart Oven is the perfect size. Great for when you don't want to fire up your large oven and perfect for making cookies, pizzas, reheating leftovers and air frying your favorite apps for game day! Honestly, this oven does it all, and does it very well! Just wish it was a bit easier to keep the interior clean from splatters. I give it a 10 out of 10 either way!

After our beloved Cuisinart stopped working, we did some research on new air fryers. Wirecutter did not disappoint on this recommendation. Although it was much bigger, this air fryer is amazing in all ways. It looks intimidating at first glance with all of the dials and settings. But, it's surprisingly easy to use and the end result is amazing every time. With the larger size, the cooking time has definitely increased. But, I'm amazed at how well this unit cooks the food evenly and bread is toasted perfectly. And with the larger size, we rarely have to use our built-in oven! This unit might cost a little more than others, but it's well worth the price!!
