    Don't waste your money. Mine arrived in a torn-up box, did not work from the start and the lower part of the handle was attached to a hole too large for the handle with rough metal edges extending so as to cut your hand. For this price, I expected much better. I only wish there were negative star ratings; one star is too generous.

    Does not heat evenly

    This is a disappointment. It takes twice as long as my cheap old microwave to heat things, and does not heat evenly. Will be burning hot in some spots and freezing cold in others. Also makes the dish extremely hot to the touch, even if the food isn’t heated through.

    I like how this microwave works but ours came with scratches on one side. This isn't the first time Best Buy has sent us a damaged appliance. It was probably returned by another customer (box had already been opened) and then passed around from a distribution center in the hopes that we would keep it despite the damage...wish they had just marked it down and sold it at their store. It's such a waste of shipping and driving to deal with their damaged merchandise.

    How do I disable child lock on Soft Close Micro?

    We read instructions to disable the child lock feature and can’t figure it out. After heating, the door doesn open.

      SETTING THE DOOR LOCK
      To enable or disable the microwave door locking function, press and hold the following buttons in the following sequential order:
      1. Door lock button.
      2. Clock setting button.
      3. Mute button Once this feature is enabled or disabled, there will be 3 consecutive audible beeps.

      You'll want to make sure the clock has been set, and that the alerts haven't been muted prior to doing these steps. brevilleusa

    Good until it broke 1.5 years after

    Microwave started malfunctioning 1 year and 1/2 after purchases. It has the nice functioning of the soft close and enjoyed it very much until I could no longer use the microwave when I put food to reheat when a loud buzzing sound followed by crackle sound. Knew then and there could not continue to use.

    Do not buy. Device cooks food uneven And haven’t even had a year and it doesn’t work and Best Buy doesn’t stand behind their product. Done shopping here.

    Not a lot to get excited about when you’re looking to buy a new microwave. Unless you are buying on that will fit a custom installation in cabinetry. In this case the category of microwave is one that will sit on a counter top. Prerequisites are that it should first and foremost heat food quickly, and evenly. It should be attractive and look good sitting on a counter top. It shouldn’t take up a lot of space, and be intuitive to use. The build quality should be very good to excellent, and be engineered and built with materials that will provide a very long product life. The Compact Wave™ Soft Close checks off all those boxes for me, plus a bit more… The thing that I like the most (above all the usual things that a microwave needs to do), is the soft-close door. That may not sound like much of an important feature, however I really appreciate it. The old microwave would not only be loud while it was in operation, but whenever certain members in my family would close the door they did so with a ‘slam’! It would be so annoying to hear this someone make a bag of popcorn late at night (and smell it too), then when they removed the bag that just toss the door close. This microwave eliminates that annoyance for me! The soft-close feature thwarts the abusers from slamming the door! Good for Breville for figuring out unique ways to make a better product. To top it off they added a mute button so that the microwave doesn’t disturb others when cooking completes, with beeping sounds. The Breville is packaged well, the layout is familiar and takes up minimal space on the counter top. Yet the interior heating area is surprisingly large, rated at 25L. I haven’t run into anything that I wanted to heat up that didn’t fit. I’ve also been happy with the evenly heated food it produces. The turntable continuously revolves round and round so that the food position is never in one spot for too long. I like the shortcut buttons it provides for common foods that most people will heat in a microwave. It makes using the unit with different foods easy to figure out, and consistently good results time after time. Breville did a great job executing this feature without making it overly complex. I like the added touch that you can easily add more time to the programmed cycle if needed. I also like the big knob that is used to adjust cooking times, and other things. The reheat and defrost features worked great, de-thawing food evenly using lowered power levels. The stainless steel case is both attractive and easy to keep clean, and it looks good in my kitchen. Heating times are quite impressive! Normally compact microwaves don’t do as good of a job heating quickly as larger microwaves do. Impressively this compact unit is the best of both worlds, it’s compact and heats up food very quickly. I’m thoroughly impressed with the Compact Wave™ Soft Close microwave from Breville. I am glad that it comes with a full one-year warranty (though I hope never to have to use it). I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality microwave that will fit neatly on a counter top or shelf. Favorite feature is the soft close door and overall quiet operation.

    This is a no-frills, high quality compact microwave. The first thing you notice, after the simplicity of the controls, is that this microwave is so quiet you hardly know it's operating, and it even has a mute button to turn off the beeps too. I've never used a microwave before that came close to how quiet this one is. The controls are very basic and simplified. They've replaced the number keypad with a rotary dial to adjust time and a power button to adjust power. The function buttons are: popcorn, beverage, defrost/reheat and a food menu for potatoes, pizza, and frozen vegetables. The start button doubles as a 30 second add button. The defrost for meats does what it claims, thaws without cooking the outside edges - you don't get a half cooked piece of meat like you do with many microwaves. I don't eat popcorn so I haven't tried that function but overall each function does it's job nicely using the oven's 900 watts of cooking power. The advertised soft-close door operates smoothly and quietly, it's just pull open and push close, no release button to push. This oven costs a little more than some others, but it's build-quality, simple operation, and 2 year warranty make worth the extra cost. If you want simple, reliable, quiet operation, this microwave would be a good choice.

    ?PERFECT microwave for Seniors and Disabled

    This microwave is perfect for Seniors. Simple to use buttons with common sense. Dial is particularly perfect for visually impaired. Shopped long and hard for the best microwave for gramma. Based on reviews, purchased an extended warranty, so be aware. Very happy with the performance and the design. 900W is heating fantastic – don’t know how it can do that, but it does. This microwave is designed in Australia, made in China.

    This is an excellent little microwave. It is simple to operate and performs well. It’s soft close door is a very nice touch as well as you don’t have to force the door shut like most microwaves. It pulls the door in and locks in place. This is not the most powerful microwave, but it does a great job for reheating and defrosting. For me, I use a microwave for what it was intended for, making popcorn (joking), but for me, that is my number one use and with the dedicated popcorn button, it’s really quite simple and does a fantastic job. It is very quiet as well. This is an excellent choice for a small apartment or dorm room. Compared to other small microwaves this looks like a premium appliance and very upscale and blends in well with today’s modern kitchens. I put mine in my man cave right next to the beer fridge for the aforementioned popcorn while watching football or movies. The controls are very simple and straight forward. The time dial is a refreshing throwback to the older microwaves and makes entering the time very simple. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants a small, but better than basic microwave for a small space.

    I am very pleased with the Breville - 0.9 Cu. Ft. Microwave. I wanted to replace the microwave in our camper and this little one does the job perfectly. It packs power and heats up everything faster than my home one I spent 3 times the amount on this one. The features are simple and normal to all microwaves but the size is the best part, it is simply small but holds a lot. Breville did a top notch job figuring out how to get so much power in a small space, I can't talk about that enough. Popcorn is the best camping snack and this little beast makes the kids happy fast and it must have a pop sensor or something, it never burns the popcorn and there is rarely a missed kernel. The food menu is a nice touch and seems to work well, even with potatoes. Another feature is how quiet the door is and the entire unit itself, it did not even wake up the kids when I heated up some coffee at 5am, the old one sounded like a jet engine, I am super pleased with that. If you have a small area, look at this Breville compact unit, you will not be disapointed!

    The microwave come broken and I take to the store and have hard time with the manager the store I not like that I have a long time costumer so I’m not going to that store anymore

    Wow- just wow. This a a wonderful little microwave. The function buttons are quite intuitive. It has the option to turn off the ANNOY beep of mist microwaves. The soft close feature seems to be quite nice. It opens and closes easily. I like the timeless/classic design and that the buttons, handle and knob are understated. The silvery slate color interior looks quite modern. This baby works great for everything I do. Heating and defrosting is a breeze. The setting buttons and add 30 seconds button are super easy. This oven was well thought out in its functions and style.
