    Just Stopped Working - Trash

    The Smooth Wave Microwave is an expensive and substantial machine - it seemed well made as other Breville products (my 1st Breville toaster oven worked great over a decade - 2nd B. t.o. still good at 4-5 yrs) I placed the Smooth Wave on a wide open counter - nothing above or on either side - BUT the Smooth Wave - at 2 yrs occasionally just went dead - I had an electrician confirm GFI outlet & fuses were working perfectly - and after unplug-replug etc., it would finally power back on - until AT 3 YEARS IT DIED AND STAYED DEAD!!! Breville cust. service confirmed the company has no expection the machine will work longer than 2 yrs. Simply put, the Smooth Wave is a bulky trash item that looks as good as the day that I overpaid for it.

    Simplify Your Life With Functionality and Design

    I’m thrilled with my new Breville Microwave. It’s been a few months now and every single time it’s used I realize what a smart choice I made. It’s design is beautiful in the kitchen and its’ functionality without fault. Easy to use and highly recommended.

    Purchased in May 2019....died June 2023. Would start then stop, then power off. Started doing this in 2022 but figured I had to move to get more venting on sides. Nope....now goes on for 10 or 12 seconds....stops...clock goes back to zero.....restart then powers off. For the name and monies I would have expected much longer.

    This is a really good looking, stainless steel, black kitchen appliance. Was easy to use without studying a manual. So if you just to get going quickly this is the one. So far cooking performance is what you expect for the specs.

    No right to repair with Breville

    Before buying an appliance, including small appliance, look up various appliance parts sites to see what parts are available for the product. You will find that no appliance parts sellers carry Breville. That's because Breville only makes them available to there service centers. You know how that goes, even simple repairs and replacements of inexpensive parts costs a bundle. Well, That's Breville. They make it difficult and expensive to get product support. I made the mistake once of buying a Breville. I only needed a cheap plastic piece, the latch that attaches to the door. They would not even tell me the part number. If I could find it, I could replace it myself easy and less than $20 USD. They want me to ship it out of state at my expense. Already more than $20 just for shipping, and that's only one way, got to pay to ship it back too. Then they're going to charge you for everything, to look at it and tell you what you already know, and then charge a huge markup on parts an labor. Probably would have cost more that what I paid for the product just to replace a cheap piece of plastic. A mistake I will never make again. Stay away from anything Breville

    Two Defective Units in a Row

    After years of putting up with a microwave that was way too complicated, I really wanted this one to work. Alas, it was not to be. The first one I ordered had a defective latch straight out of the box. Far from being a soft close, you have to slam it close HARD. Even trying to push it close doesn't work. You have to SLAM it. Do it enough times, and eventually you might get a soft close. But then it's back to having to slam it. Ever hopeful, I returned it and ordered a second one. Same problem, again straight out of the box. I give up. This one is going back, too, and I will try something else. Other reviewers have noted the soft close failing after a week or two, so clearly there is some kind of manufacturing or design issue with the latch.

    Regret purchasing

    After 8 months of use it had an electrical issue. Turned it on and a loud machine gun sound with the light flashing on and off rapidly happened. I was able to contact support and will be sending it in for a replacement. The quality for an almost 300 dollar microwave was dissapointing.

    Worked well but cheap material leads to breakage

    Worked well for 3 years That is until the plastic door hook broke. Will need to see if there’s a way to replace that part. But a bit of a let down for how expensive this was.

    Died after 3.5 years

    Feels cheap and does not have the Breville Plug

    I went to pick this up. Looked at the demo model. The door feels cheap and rattles opening and closing. The plug is not the usual Breville plug with the finger hole. Got another model.
