This game is very well made. Everything about Bulletstorm is perfect. The Graphics, Gameplay, Storyline, Characters, Acting, Innovation, Skill System, Weapons, Upgrades, Load times, Controls, Originality, Sound, etc. are all spot on and well done. Yes, this game contains a lot of violence and a lot of cussing...so let that be pre warned for you parents out there wanting to buy a game for someone younger than 17. This game is extremely fun, and addicting.....It's a good change for the first person shooter genre....Finally something new and awesome for us gamers. I am absolutely enjoying everything about this game, and I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. If you haven't picked up this game yet, then you're missing out BIG TIME!.

    Quite Surprised

Looking trailers and hearing its reviews, I had little to no expectations for this game. But then I liked Gears of War and Shadow Complex games and since this was also being released by Epic, I thought why not give it a shot. After finishing the campaign mode and trying Ecos and Anarchy modes, I have to say I am quite surprised. ***********PROS.*************** -AWESOME COMBAT SYSTEM: This is the best aspect of this game. You can slide, leash to pull enemies, kick them and use variety of weapons with primary and second fire and pull a huge variety of combination off of them. At first you may feel like it may get redundant, but thanks to variety in levels, there are a huge variety of things you can do. Thanks to that you won’t get bored till the end of the campaign. -VARIETY IN LEVELS: Other than awesome combat, there is plenty of variety in levels. Throughout the campaign you experience a variety of environments including the space, woody greenery filled areas, abandoned factories, building high in the sky that is about to fall apart and list goes on. -SURPRISES: There parts during the campaign where you will be surprised by certain events and the gameplay that will follow it. I really don’t want to spoil it for you, but trust me you will like it. -GREAT GRAPHICS AND DECENT ART WORK: The first time I saw the trailer for this game, it really looked unpolished to me. But now that I have finished the campaign, I can say that since then they seem to have refined it quite a bit. Certain levels just look gorgeous. I guess never doubt the power of unreal engine. -VARIETY IN WEAPONS: There are 8 different types of weapons and that is not including the leash. Each weapons (including leash) has devastating alternate fire mode. There is just plethora of combos you can do if you mix and match these weapons. I personally enjoyed each and every one of them. Also, while some weapons may look and sound familiar from other games, they will play very differently in this game. For example with sniper rifle in this game you can change the direction of bullet after you fire it. I personally have enjoyed the variety very much. -UPGRADABLES: To top of each weapon is upgradeable with the skill point you earn by killing enemies in creative ways. This rpg element will truly encourage you to creatively kill enemies and get as many skill points as possible. While this rpg element is not as well thought of as other games, it still adds incentive to do your best. -ONLINE PLAY AND ECOS MODE: While not my favorites (see cons.), after you finish the game, you can stay busy by playing online multiplayer (anarchy mode) or Ecos mode which has the same levels as campaign but gives you stars on your performance. ************CONS************ -RELATIVELY SHORT CAMPAIGN: Hate how games these days have such short single player campaigns. Unfortunately bulletstorm is one of them. While I enjoyed each and every moment of the campaign I found it to be very short (~7-8 h max and that is because I explore a lot). -MINOR GLITCHES: I had my character stuck while jumping over objects at least 3-4 times. Unacceptable. All the games have glitches, but under no circumstances your character should be stuck like this. I mean you can’t even kill yourself. Restarting the level is the only option. -MEH MULTIPLAYER AND ECOS MODE: Compare to some other games these days, I didn’t enjoy the multiplayer so much. I got tired of it rather quickly. Also the Ecos mode felt the exact same as the campaign. I wish they had added more varieties. -LACK OF NEW GAME+ MODE: This is a game that can really use a new game+ mode (i.e. start with all the weapons you collected etc.). Unfortunately, it doesn’t have it. So there are some really cool weapons and upgrades you get towards the end of the game. Unfortunately, if you want to use them again, you will have to play the game again and you will only get to use them for last few levels. Just very unfortunate. **********CONCLUSION**************** Simply speaking I am looking forward to Bulletstorm 2. Partly because I enjoyed this game and partly I have faith in the developers that they will improve the weak aspects of this game. All and all I enjoyed pulling off crazy combos in beautiful, but destructible environments, but I wish they had longer campaign and had fixed some of the things described in the con section. I give this game 8.5/10.

This game is hard to put down. The action is non-stop, the story is great but doesn't get in the way of the action and the voice acting and graphics are fantastic. Bringing the creative "Skill-shot" concept means you are always trying to find new, humiliating and funny ways to take out the bad guys. Really awesome game!

This game was a ton of fun for the first playthrough. I had a blast performing some of the most gruesome kills. But after about the 3rd day of playing I started to get seriously bored with it. It's a one-trick-pony. The trick is a lot of fun, but when it gets old, so does the gameplay. You play a gruff-war-hardened-veteran. The cliche's are a dime a dozen here. The amount of cursing and wild insults are so off the wall that it would make a sailor blush. You have an arsenal at your disposal, with the usual weapons (rifle, shotgun, etc) But you get 2 weapons that you will use till the end of the game: Your Leash, and Your Boot. You can use an electrified leash to reach out and grab most enemies from behind cover then boot them into/around/through anything in the game world. Creating impressive kills that are graded and you are given money for the more outlandish kills. The campaign is very fun and very imaginative you play on a ruined resort planet that has been taken over by man-eating... everything. Man-eating plants, and people, and monsters. So all must be dispatched using your leash, boot and various guns to clean house and get your revenge (being a war-torn-veteran, of course). Multiplayer is very short, and gets old fast. You can play with 4 people max, and work in co-op to kill your opponents, with creative kill animations... meh... Rent this one first, then see if it's worth a buy.

    Kill With Skill

In Bulletstorm you play as Grayson Hunt leader of Dead Echo, who has crash landed on a planet called Stygia. You and your robot friend Ishi must get off the planet filled with monsters and mutants. This is not your typical FPS.You have a leash on your left hand, and slows down time called "Bullet Time",that let's you do all types of combo kills called "Skillshots" on your foes. The voice acting is pretty much humorus with cussing and dirty jokes in between.Music is alot of rock music that sets the mood. The graphics are from the Unreal Engine 3,and are very detailed. The bad thing about the game is that it's too short,it takes only 5-6 hours to beat, there's no co-op story mode.In Echo you try to beat your friends in see who has the best skills on each stage.Anarchy is multiplayer mode, instead of player vs player you have to work together as a team to gain points and move on to the next wave.It does get a little stale after a while, but you do get gamerscore points for it.If your looking for a different type of FPS,I say pick this up.

Hey guys. I have played Gears, Gears 2, all of the C.O.D.'s since number 2, and all of the Halos. So I understand the first person shooter. That being said, this is not your typical shooter.? Sure you killing stuff and moving forward to achieve an objective, but this game lends itself more to a Duke Nukem kind of game so far without the puzzles. Your not only pressed to drive forward but you play just to see what other. Kind of crazy mayhem you can create. I don't think it will be as challenging as most of the hardcore shooters, but the game reminds me of an arcade game you just can't get enough of. Strong language and tons of gore, the kind of thing you'd expect from the guys that brought us Gears. This pre- order also comes with an invitation to play Gears 3 Beta. I pre-ordered because of Gears and because I can't stop playing the demo....

    Brutal guilty pleasure

It's easy to write this off as just another gory, foul mouthed, ultra-violent shooter. Well, it kinda is. But if that's you cup o' tea, dive in! I'll say first, the game is fun. If you just want to know if it's fun, there you go. The action is fantastic. Explosions, crazy enemies, running, shooting, it all comes together throughout the game. The hook here that makes it different than your average shooter is the point system. You're not just taking out enemies, you need to do it with style. Well, you don't NEED to, but when you do, you get more points which in turn allow you to get better weapons and more ammo. So it makes sense to fight as creatively as possible. The guns are all very different and very fun. And we're not just talking your basic machine gun, your basic sniper rifle. Each weapon is kinda like what you expect, but amped up to almost ridiculous proportions. But that's what makes it fun! Couple these with the electric leash and every kill can be a whole new event. Use the guns, use the leash, use the environment. The story line sort of gives you a reason to go from area to area, but it's not really all that important. The lead role you play is you average "hardcore dude". It's his sidekick that really shines. Then when you get introduced to one more person bringing guns blazing, things get even better. Well, at least in the story department. Don't expect your comrades to really help much in a firefight. Not that you'll need it, but this IS a single player experience. But you'll get plenty of personality. If you are okay with some "adult humor", it's one more thing that will give you a smile in this game. Again, it's over the top like pretty much everything else in the game. As long as you're not going in expecting something really serious (it's a video game! have some fun!) you'll get a kick out of it. So the game is kinda short. The story is kinda weak. The multi-player is...uh, different. Do I recommend it? If you're looking for a relentlessly exciting, action packed explosion fest, you're in the right place. This game is perfect example of fun factor. It's just fun to play! It's not Call of Duty, but it's a blast. It's sure to bring some jaw dropping moments as well as some good laughs.

As stated above, this review is based only on the demo. The game is really fast-paced and, of course, looks a lot like Gears of War. Although, be warned, this is no clone. The fact that the game compels you to come up with new and interesting ways to kill your foes is excellent. I keep playing the demo, over and over, to see what I can come up with. You can use the environment, as well as your weapons, to create wicked death’s for your enemies. This type of game play is going to lend it self nicely to the multi-player aspect of the game, which I know we are all looking forward to. This XBOX 360 version also comes with a BETA invitation to play GEARS OF WAR 3 multiplayer. That, I am really looking forward to. Thanks for reading.

This is one of the more underrated games for the XBOX 360. The gameplay is fantastic. The weapons are very creative and very powerful. The story doesn't really make any sense, but the over the top gameplay makes up for it. It's very fast paced and just a ton of fun. Highly recommended.

    Not Bad

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Not bad, considering most people will buy it solely for the purpose of the GOW3 Beta Test. The game is what would happen if Halo 3 and Duke Nukem 3D had a baby - tons of gory, bloody, head-popping, nut-shooting hilariousness...but with a small matter of skill still required to do some of the more advanced "skill shots". Story line is practically just find the most absurdly funny way to kill a massive amount of enemies as quickly as possible while the NPC's crack NSFW jokes and gestures. Only real problem with the game is that it seems to have VERY many glitchy spots. You'll be running along a barrier, then all of a sudden get stuck roughly ever 30-45 minutes meaning a restart at last checkpoint, which are quite abundant, so no big deal if you get glitched. Definite perk is the beta for Gears of War 3 multiplayer, that I think I read will be opening up mid-April...if you want to buy it like so many did with Crackdown (Halo 3 beta), go right ahead...but if you are just looking to laugh, pop off a few cool looking shots and go nut-hunting with some friends via co-op this game aims to please.

I bought this game used for $10. It was actually a lot of fun. I usually play a throw-away game between games like Bioshock and Halo -- so this was a perfect fit. Its very addicting -- I was constantly trying to find the best way to gain points and achievements by finding unique ways to kill enemies. Very clever and original idea to make an otherwise mediocre game special. I was laughing throughout the game by the dialogue and different ways to kill enemies. I recommend it for sure -- very fun!

If you are a Gears fan, this is definitely worth a play through. The graphics are stunning and the in game features are something new. It does however get boring after beating the campaign. The game has side missions called Echoes you can play, as well as a team multiplayer. It's very violent and I wouldn't recommend it for young kids, unless you are raising little slashers.
