We purchased this GE café double oven which I was very very excited about and it worked well for two years and four months. we purchased it in October 2022 & great had no problems except my husband did spend over 2 1/2 hours in the very first few days recalibrating both upper and lower oven since the temperatures was way off. We hadn’t had any problems until recently. The lower oven was not heating up properly if you put it on 350° you got 250° or 225, tried to bake chocolate chip cookies & 1/3 hour later, they were still raw. My husband heated the oven up to 400 and pretty much burnt the cookies! We tried making scones, took videos of the oven temps & how the lower oven turned on & off. Had two separate oven thermometers in there one side of the oven was 275. The other one was 250 when it was set at 375. GE technician came out & He was guessing what the problem could be; a sensor or could be a control board. They don’t know at least he didn’t know. Have another technician coming out a week later to see if he can fix it. The parts are $600 which is a bit of $$ since we spent $4k on this product. I expected this thing to last longer than 2-1/2 years!! not real happy but hopefully I can get it fixed. I do love the fact that we have a double oven with six burners. That’s been a real nice feature because we cook every single night for a family of four adults.
Thanks for letting us know what happened. Please PM/DM us on Facebook/Instagram/X with a copy of your review, any service confirmation/case numbers you may have, and the complete model/serial numbers of your unit so we can further investigate. -Don@Cafe

Form over function

I’ve had this stove for almost a year and was thrilled to be able to get it. It’s very unique looking and looks great in my kitchen. The induction cooktop is as good as the other reviewers say it is, Heats water in literally seconds. It does however take getting used to since its harder to regulate using the knobs than gas. My biggest complaint is with the lower oven and the oven racks. The upper oven is fine for most baking and roasting however a large pot will not fit in it. The lower oven is a good size but you basically have to get on your hands and knees to check on anything it’s so low. Although it does have a slide out rack it’s almost impossible to change it’s position and the racks in general are very difficult to take in and out. This becomes even more difficult after you’ve cleaned the oven. Also If youre a bread baker be aware the proofing function is only in the lower oven. If I had realized how difficult access to the lower oven is I probably wouldn’t have bought it.
Hello. We're happy to hear the cooktop of this range has met your expectations. However, we're sorry to know how difficult it has been to use your lower oven and oven racks. To help the racks slide more easily, please apply a small amount of vegetable oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the oven racks with the paper towel. For additional information and troubleshooting tips regarding the racks, please find the article on our GEA website titled "Range & Wall Oven - Solution to Oven Racks Sticking." -Gina@Cafe

2 years in and I just spent $1500 to have the control module replaced after running the self clean function on the oven. GE customer service was no help because it was beyond the 1 year warranty. Its poorly made and poorly supported. don't waste your money.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We know how important it is to have your range working properly and we're sorry that you've had this issue with the control module of your unit. We're sure your unit will serve you well now that it has been repaired! -Kacie@CafeAppliances

The range is wonderful. The delivery not so much. There was a lot of confusion and delivery was delayed but we finally were able to get the range and the product itself is wonderful.
It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying your new range despite the challenges you encountered during delivery. To best address your delivery concern, please reach out to Best Buy support by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) or by visiting the Support Center at the Best Buy website.

Is it really in stock and available for delivery?

This rating is on Best Buy's inventory, delivery (lack of) & poor customer service.
No one explain 1) why an item purchased on November 4th (with an earliest delivery date of Nov 11) wasn't delivered on November 15th as scheduled, and 2) why I wasn't notified and left here waiting.
I made arrangements to be at home for delivery, had my old gas stove removed, and converted our outlet/receptacle for this new appliance.
The two customer service agents I spoke to claim that it's back ordered.
But, the Best Buy website doesn't state that it's back ordered and indicates that it's available on Nov 21. GE shows it as in stock and so do other stores.

Third Service Call in 3 months.

Technician coming out again, for the third time regarding the right-front heating element. Won't cook an egg without burning it. The center element heats too high, while the middle and outside rings heat too low. Takes forever for water to boil. Hopefully they will get it right this time. (only had since January 2021) The knobs are confusing; hard to tell whether to turn it left or right for the burner that has three rings. You think you are on high because you turn towards the three ring symbol, but that is low. Or, it I'm on the wrong "ring" symbol all together. Very disappointing.

Beware of the lemons

We got one of the lemon ones. I'm having the same issue other reviewers mention - first the cooktop wouldn't work. One month and a bunch of parts later it's fixed. Now the ovens don't work - they get to 250* and it goes into a fault mode and shuts down, and I have to flip the breaker back on. It's been 2 months and I have cooked exactly 0 meals from start to finish on this pile of junk.

Hi there - we apologize for the problems you've faced with your electric induction range. The oven faulting at 250 degrees and tripping the breaker must be especially frustrating when it's compounded with the cooktop issues you've dealt with. We can certainly understand your disappointment and dissatisfaction. We encourage you to make sure the range is on a properly sized breaker or fuse - this electric induction range must be supplied with the proper voltage and frequency, and connected to an individual, properly grounded, 40 amp (minimum) branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. If the unit is not on the correct sized breaker, we recommend consulting with the installer or an electrician. Additionally, you can check page 34 of the owner's manual for information on this unit's limited warranty: https://files.bbystatic.com/%2FznlvMYD95JJqwv2f3DwPw%3D%3D/d1137148-860c-42c2-afbb-dd3cda26d6ba.pdf. We hope this information is helpful and we look forward to regaining your trust in Café Appliances in the future. Keep in touch, Kelsey@Café
