I have been wanting one of these for years, and instead have been using my icing spatula to loosen up the cake and letting it slide out. With this I don't risk break, splitting, or damaging the cake.

I've been looking for one of these for awhile. Fortunately, Best Buy had it for a seriously low price compared to other stores. Now, hopefully, the recipe I need it for will turn out great.

This cake lifter has a large surface area, which makes it really easy to use to lift a cake layer without breaking it. I have used it twice so far and I'm not an advanced baker and my cake didn't fall apart. I also used it to take my cake out of the pan and onto a serving platter and this worked great too. It's a solid material, so not flimsy, so it can hold up to a heavy cake's weight.
