I bought this game recently and it was worth the money. Graphics are solid although nothing remarkable. (standard port over). I enjoyed the campaign, really well done, feels like your really in the action. Multiplayer is fun but some of the maps are too small for my tastes. Not enough options to change the experience much but still fun. Its a good title worth the money, looking foward to cod 4 to see a real improvement in ps3 visuals.

OK, maybe I am too used to playing Resistance: Fall of Man but this game did not live up to my hopes and fond memories of the Call of Duty series. The first Call of Duty game I owned was Finest Hour, one of the best games ever. I like it because you could play as the Russians, British, or Americans, and it was pretty good for the PS2. After I purchased the Big Red One which I thought was not quite as good because of the shorter campaign and the fact that you could only play as an American soldier. I missed on Call of Duty 2 and a few days ago I saw this on sale for $30 so I went for it. Popped it, and first tried the campaign. It wouldn't work on Easy because it kept freezing on the intro so I had to quit the game by pressing the PS button and start a new campaign on Normal. The campaign was alright and lacked the fun and exciting feeling of previous games in the series. After I tried the online play which felt really mediocre compared to RFoM and with the connection problems and bugs almost made me return it. But once I got past all that and got out onto the battlefield, I had a lot of fun, blasting away with tanks and mowing down enemies, driving away in motorcycles, sniping from house windows, and going head on with your machine gun. However, the maps were not the best and lacked the feeling the other Call of Duty maps invigorated. Also, the environments were non destructible, so when you shot a tank shell at a house it looked like it bounced off, instead of like in RFoM when it actually takes out the side of the building.
Overall: I give it a B+, because it is still Call of Duty and is on a much higher quality than many other games out there and will still be a fun experience no matter what.

i've played all of the cod games. this one is just as good as the first 2 in terms of game play. great game concept and fun to play. but you can definately tell the game is simply a pc port. the graphics were not made for hdtv resolution. this game renders at 720p, although it says on the box it supports 1080i, which is most likely for tvs that only support that res as my tv supports all resolutions, but this game renders at 720p. in many cases the graphics look horrible especially the opening cut scenes. bleh. don't get me wrong 720p is fine for games. oblivion looks awesome at 720p. it's not the resolution of 720p that makes the detail in this game bad. it's that, although it reanders at 720p, the artwork that comprises he textures in the game were not designed at that res, so the game looks etchy and scratchy to the point of annoyment. great game though. i can't wait for games that are made specifically for the ps3 to finally be released later this fall although rfom is a true 1080p (desgined for 1080p and rendering at 1080p)

This is not the best game in call of duty, but its okay. You don't get to make classes like you do in COD 4 and up. You only have a selection of about 6 classes, which are poorly made, and well made. The maps in this game are okay, there not the best though. I prefer this game (If you only have the amount that this game costs, don't get it though), to any one that wants to try another call of duty game, and likes first persons.

this is a great game. the graphics in this game are really good, not as good as call of duty 4, but still great. the gameplay in this game is is very responsive. the controls are tight, better that most first person shooters. and the price for this game is just right, especially for a game this old.
and that is the only problem with this game is that it is kinda old since call of duty 4 and the new call of duty 5 is that is coming out. I can recommend this game to anyone who likes world war II games, buy this game, it is a solid game with many missions, it will keep you busy for quite a while and will not dissapoint you.

I played this title on the 360 first and was very impressed by the clear graphics, and easy shooter controls, back during its original release a couple years ago. The game isn't too short, but challenging enough to make it worthwhile. If you like first and second person shooters you will appreciate this title. Buy it or rent it first and see for yourself.

This game is great for the online player. The battles are huge and a lot of fun. A lot of people see this game and go "yuck, Treyarch sucks" but this game isn't bad. The maps are intricate and fun. They're big and provide a lot of cover, which you can sometimes blend in with. There's a map online that is pretty much a jungle with bushes and trees and trenches everywhere. Basically, a sniper's haven. Unlike COD4, you have the ability to use specials depending on what class you are. If you're a sniper and you're doing well, then you can call in an airstrike wheras if you're a medic, you can leap in the line of fire and revive your fallen buddy. This is the best WWII game to date and, in my opinion, has a lot of distinctive characteristics that surpass COD4, not to mention that vehicles are available in this one. The campaign mode is fun and takes you all over.

the game is awesome. It is pretty to beat, but it has a great storyline. But I think the best part of it is hands down the online playing great levels, and many troop classes to choose from. I would definetly reccomend this to a friend.

Definitely an overall good game, great storyline and good levels of difficulty. Fairly quick and easy to beat but definitely worth it for some of the online game play as well.

Finally, an awesome Playstation 3 game! Of course, you can probably find the same thing on other consoles, but this version is really good. The controls work great, the graphics are simply a delight to watch, and finding the best strategies to complete missions is always a lot of fun and contains a lot of replay value.

my experience with this is i have had it for two weeks and i am over half way done with the game. the graphics are good like i said and the plot of joining up and fighting with the french is amazing. The great thing about htis game is it is not hard to learn how to play, but once again the levels are to short. It is a great game overall.

Good online multiplayer. Campaign was pretty fun too.
Not very customizable though. Call of Duty 4 should be much better.

Next-Gen WWII Shooter Impresses

I have been a fan of the COD series for a long time, and Call of Duty 3 keeps the hype going. The next-gen graphics are incredible, and the new features are great. The game also puts the SIXAXIS controller's potential into great use. For example, you simply jab the conroller for a melee attack; talk about getting into the action! Sometimes, however, you may get caught in the bushes, or terrain in general, but it is pretty rare and not even noticeable to hurt this game.

This was my first Cod game i bought. It was also the first game i bought for my PS3. I wanted to get a feel for the upgraded graphics and gameplay. I had played this game a few times at my cousins house on the PS2 and liked it. Bought it weeks ago and im still playing it! Its a great, entertaining game worth the money even though its only like 30 bucks now. Cant wait for Cod4!!

Overal I think this game was pretty good, until I got another PS3 game. The graphics were poor. I would say that get a game made after 4/1/07 because that's when they started stepping up. I loved the baseline and the campaign + the multiplayer, but I would recomend this product if this was before Medal of Honor: Airborne or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

A great tool to learn about WW2. The story was very detailed, and it did an excellent job in taking to different places and use different weapon and vehicles. The control response was good, but the graphics need to be updated.
