The Calphalon Quartz Heat countertop oven is overall a great countertop oven, with minor issues. Let’s start with the positive: The oven is nicely designed, with its large LCD screen, simple-to-use control knobs, large glass door and nice solid handle (brushed metal front, rubber on the back). The interior is very large, I can easily fit an 11”x7” glass pan inside. I really appreciate the interior light, it’s a nice feature I haven’t seen on most countertop ovens. The light turns off automatically after a few seconds, it doesn’t stay on until it is turned off. The Function Selector Dial has 11 options: Toast, Bagel, Pizza, Bake, Broil, Cookies, Roast, Warm, Defrost, Reheat, and Dehydrate. There’s also an button for Turbo Convect for better air circulation and crisper food. A pizza pan, baking pan and dehydrator pan are included. I’ve used the Toast, Bagel, Bake and Roast functions, they all worked well. The Negative: The Broil function didn’t work so well when I tried it for browning the skin on a turkey breast. The result didn’t even come close to using my gas oven’s Broil function. Another issue, maybe more of a preference, when I preheat the oven, once it reaches the desired temperature, I have to hit start, otherwise it will shut off after a few minutes. I may be used to my old toaster oven and regular stove, once it’s finished preheating, it stays on. Overall, I am happy with this countertop oven and recommended it.

We have a lot of instances needing to cook for one. This little gem cooks perfect cookies, hoagies, pizzas, and more perfectly. It also allows for a couple evenly baked chicken breasts or salmon fillets without heating up the whole kitchen. Highly recommend.

Calphalon - Quartz Heat Countertop Oven works really good. I love the size capacity and the fact that there are many different heating settings and functions. The larger capacity does mean it takes up more space on the counter top. We have used it for toasting, baking and reheating without issue. It does take some trial and error to know which toast setting to use, but other than that, it works nice. I like the extra trays to put things like pizza or sliders on. They are easy to clean. Overall, a really nice toaster oven that will get a lot of use.

I must have reviewed a million toaster ovens before settling on this one. 1st off, there’s a 3 year warranty, that was a huge plus. I was looking for a few key features: nonstick interior, 2 racks and an interior light, a clock would have been nice but my stove and microwave have that so I guess I can do without a third. The most important feature in my opinion is an interior light, I mean c’mon, try doing without a light in your refrigerator, (1st world problem)you would think this would be a standard feature. I guess the Einsteins sitting at the boardroom thought by adding a .16 light bulb would have set the price point through the roof-so this is a major win with this unit. Although it only comes with one rack, I’m sure I can deal with it. The size is a little smaller than my 15 yr old behemoth Delonghi. The one time in 15 years I put something in it, set the timer, only to come home to a non functioning appliance and half cooked chicken thighs, it decided nah I’m good and died. I’m amused at the comments on this and other ovens saying: this unit gets really hot so make sure not to touch and to keep clearance, ehh it’s a freakin oven, where would you expect the heat to go? It’s not a NASA engineered spacecraft. Overall, this is a sleek, stylish and well made oven and is no way flimsy like it’s competitors. I highly recommend wholeheartedly.

Takes too long to do anything!

Toast take 6 1/2 minutes. If you want to broil get ready to wait 20 to 30 minutes for it to pre-heat. Whatever you do you have to stay around to operate. For instance set to 350 deg. then set timeer. Click start then wait for an eternity for it to pre-heat. Then you have to hit start again to get it to count down. Fortuneately it will turn itself off. If my statements are incorrect its only because the unit does not come with a manual other than a little paper flyer. Cuisinart products, and I've had a couple, work much better.

I really like the features of this toaster oven and how it functions. However, it takes a really long time to heat up. I thought it would heat up faster with the quartz heating element but the opposite is true.
