I love taking very detailed close-up pictures of my flowers during the spring, summer and fall, so time will tell,.........

Adequate lens--nice to have a wide aperture option

It is a little tricky to get used to focusing with the wide aperture lens. On the other hand, you are able to get a nice effect with the blurred background for portraits and close-ups. The lens works fine with my Canon EOS 60D.

Nice and Sharp Prime Lens

It's relatively inexpensive, has a bright aperture of f1.8 so it's good in low light and the 50mm focal length is good for general photography and portraiture.

She ha used it several times and really likes the quality of the pictures which it creates. She has mentioned this to me several times since Thanksgiving (when she received it).
