Customers are saying

Customers find value in the EOS R6's exceptional image quality, ease of use, and impressive autofocus capabilities, frequently praising its performance in low-light conditions and lightweight design. Positive feedback also highlights the camera's ergonomics. While some users noted potential for overheating during extended 4K video recording and shorter battery life, these concerns were not universally reported.

This camera is phenomenal. The IBIS absolutely assists in photo quality and a lot less shots being sent to the trash. Having moved up from the 90D, this was one of the main reasons I made the switch. The 60fps at 4K is great as well for capturing 4k and being able to slow it down in post production. The 20mp is not at all a concern as we are not printing billboards but with Adobe now having Super Resolution blowing up images without losing quality is easier than ever.

Love this camera. Had the 5D Mark ii and it died. It lasted forever. And I hope the same for this one. So far so good!

I upgraded my EOS R to this, and it is hands down the best camera I have ever used for my needs. I do mainly wedding films, and this handles all day shooting with no issues at all. I haven't put it through the ringer yet, but all day shooting for a wedding wasn't an issue at all. The image quality is amazing, especially having internal 10-bit. I use the Panasonic GH5 and GH5s as well for their internal 10-bit capabilities, but having the DPAFII on this is a game changer!

Been waiting to get this for a while and finally decided to purchase one. I've been a long time Canon user dating back to their film cameras in the mid '80s. This one replaces my 6D which is a wonderful camera. As for this R6, using it is a pleasure. There are lots to learn if you want to utilize it's full functionalities, so, it's best to sit down and go through the manual or Youtube to learn about this camera. Took it out three times so far taking pictures at the zoo with my 70-200 non-IS lens. Doesn't matter, the IBIS took care of that and I see lots of improvement over using my 6D with this lens when taking videos. I got it with the kit lens because it's the only way to get this camera now. They're out everywhere if you want body only! I have a 24-105 F4 L so I'm just gonna put the kit lens away. 20 MP may sounds a little but most of my pictures will never become prints or get super blown up anyway so I don't really care. Coming from my 6D, I found the new face recognition technology to be super useful and excellent! The ability for the focus to be locked and follow the subject makes it hard to miss! The viewfinder is nice and bright compared to my a6400. The menu is easy to use and it has touch screen. Compared to my a6400, this is a lot easier to navigate. I can go on and on about how good this camera is but then this review will probably be way too long. Overall, I think this is a good camera for the advanced amateurs. The price may be a little high but I think you get what you pay for.

The Canon Mirrorless Camera I've Been Waiting For

I have been a Canon user since the days of film cameras. Since I started photographing digitally, I have used the Canon Rebel XT, XTi, 7D, 7D II, 5D III and 5D IV and the R6 is the culmination of everything I wanted in a digital mirrorless camera. It focuses incredibly fast and accurately, has great dynamic range, it feels great in my hands, has dual memory card slots and in-body image stabilization (IBIS). If, like me, you have several EF lenses, the fact that they work flawlessly with the EF to R adapter makes transitioning to the RF mount much easier. The RF 24-105 f/4-7.1 lens its quite nice for a "kit lens". It has a nice smooth feel and is quite light. The only negative I've found with the lens (besides the fact that it needs a lot of light at the telephoto end) is it struggles with eye focus in low light. (That shouldn't be a big surprise because of f/7.1 aperture at the long end – it doesn't let in nearly as much light as my EF 24-70 f/2.8 II lens.) The only thing I would have preferred in the R6 would have been a slightly higher resolution sensor. While 20 megapixels will work fine for most purposes, I would have preferred at least 24 megapixels. I waited patiently for Canon to produce a mirrorless camera that met my needs and my patience was rewarded with the R6 & R5 cameras.

Let me start with saying the Canon R6 is the most expensive camera I've ever used with that being said it is worth every penny if you can afford it. I think canon could have done their consumers a little better with giving us a few more MP. I get they still need to sell the EOS R but they could have done like 24mp instead of 20mp or made it cheaper. I mean they are already giving us the screw with the price of the RF lenses.

AWESOME camera from Canon. Excellent for both photos and videos!! Amazzzzing colors, performance and dynamic range. The 20 megapixels is a bit on a lower side, but it’s a beast with some good lens. Downside it no cropping, just got to get that shot right! Then you’ll be fine. So worth it.

Great camera! First mirrorless I've ever owned and used! Still getting used to it and all the functions, but very similar to my Mark IVs, except that it weighs a lot less! Price point is much better than the R5 and overall I'm extremely happy!

This camera takes amazing shots even in low light. I can crank up the up the ISO and still have clear pictures. Only problem is if you are going to be using this camera as a video cam a big problem I found is that it overheats after about 30 -40 minutes of use.

Love this camera! I loved it so much I bought two of them! I had been shooting with the Canon 1DX before. That is also an awesome camera but it's a beast. It's heavy and loud. The R6 is soooo much better in low light it's insane. I rarely see noise even when I'm shooting at 10,000 ISO. You won't regret this purchase.
