Cute Modern Day (Almost) Disposable Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for high quality prints and ability to take pics in almost any situation (lighting etc), this is NOT for you. If you want something compact, fun, easy to operate that gives instant gratification by printing a pic in an instant then this IS for you. There is the option to save pics you have taken on an SD card but the image quality just isn’t up to par with what your cell phone can do (and who doesn’t have a cell phone camera now a days?) so I would just recommend using the Cliq because you can have a pic that you take in your hand to hold within seconds. It’s a little wonky sometimes as you really don’t know how many pics you have left in your camera, I just keep taking pics until I cant take any more then reload. Its also got a selfie mirror on the front for instant selfies. I have mirror-less SLRs that cost thousands and this obviously doesn’t compare BUT for a compact camera you can take anywhere the Cliq a fun inexpensive choice. My daughter loves it even though she has an iPhone for most of her pics and has started a collection of the instant shots from the Cliq that she has displayed on her wall in her room. Good fun for what it is.

Cute idea... but just not worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ugh!!! This was an impulse buy I regret. I knew it could print pictures but since there was a memory card slot I thought you had the option to print or not print... that's not the case. Every picture is printed, which can get expensive quickly. I also found the shutter button to be poorly places and I took a few "accidental" shots as I was just trying to handle the camera. I had purchased this for my almost 6 year old hoping that she could take pictures and print select ones but it just isn't the case and I would not suggest this camera to anyone. The prints were not great quality (not expected) but it was just overall underwhelming.

Canon IVY Cliq
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my daughter so she can practice her photography skills. The print quality of the photos is not very good. I would not recommend for the price as there are better option out there for the money.

A camera that goes back to the basics.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one cool little camera! It prints out a 2x3 photo that has a backing on it that can peel off to be made a sticker! Setup is a breeze. It comes with everything you need to get started. I charged up the device and inserted the zink paper. This thing has no print cartridge nor requires any ink! It's all in the paper! One thing I liked about the camera is it's simplicity. It has 2 buttons. ON/OFF and the shoot button. How simple!! I snapped a couple of photos to test it out and I was so surprised by the picture quality. It makes a great little photo that is sharp and clear! It took some work to get the sticker backing off, but before long I was sticking little pics all over the house, much to the chagrin of my wife. Think of all the little photos I can leave around the house for her to find!! I loved this camera! I give it 4 stars for it's fun factor, ease of use, and simplicity. I did not give the 5th star because I feel that the paper is a little pricey at 50 cents per sheet.

Fun Camera with Some Issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave the Canon Ivy Cliq to my daughter last week right before camp, and it was a huge hit. She loved being able to get pictures of her memories, but being able to share them, physically, then and there was awesome, she said. It can even easily print multiple copies of the same picture, which is great for group photos. The printed pictures, as well as the digital versions look great. Keep in mind that this is a 5 megapixel camera, so it isn't for high end photography, but it is great for catching memores. It is about the size of a cell phone, so it fits easily in a purse or pocket. I did have several issues with the camera though: The battery only lasts long enough to take and print 20-30 pictures. Also, you can't take more photos if you are out of paper, even if you have a MicroSD card installed (I believe this needs to be fixed with an update). Do note that the camera can only hold 10 sheets of paper at a time, so you see how this can quickly become a problem.

Perfect For Younger Teens
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Canon camera is perfect for younger teens who I think this is geared towards. The camera itself is about the same size and a typical point-and-shoot camera. The build quality is actually much better than one would expect for a product in this category. Loading the paper is pretty straight forward and not at all difficult. The quality of the printouts is much better than most other instant print cameras. I only have a few issues with this camera, but nothing is what i would consider a deal breaker. There is only an optical viewfinder. This is probably due to the printer elements being located on the back of the camera. This means you get no preview before it prints. You shoot a picture and it prints out. That's my only main issue with the camera so far. Overall, if you were a fan of old school photo booths then you'll like this camera.

Easy to use...Shoot & Print!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Canon IVY Cliq Instant Film camera is very easy to use. It comes with one package of 10 sheets of Canon Zink Paper. It is easy to load and it calibrates the camera with a blue sheet that spits out first. You have the option to take take 2x3 or 2x2 pictures. The Zink photo paper is a very durable sticky paper (which is why I guess it runs about $.50 a sheet before tax). The camera comes with one package of 10 sheets -which I really wish it came with more. There is no digital screen on this camera so it's really like a point and click. You can take selfies by looking in the small "selfie mirror" (which mimics a mirror in a park bathroom). Overall, it's a cool concept and the paper that the pictures are printed on is durable. I find it to be a little overpriced for the overall basic print a picture on demand camera.

Awesome instant film
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Polaroid cameras were very popular many years ago. Now many different camera makers have made instant cameras. This camera is one of cannon's iterations and i personally am a fan. The camera is self is very compact and it takes decent quality photos. One of the biggest advantages is that the camera allows for a memory card and each picture is saved with a digital copy on the memory card. My only wish is that you were able to take digital pictures without having film in the camera but it does not appear to be possible. Overall i believe this is a fun camera to throw in a bag and take on vacation. I also love that the pictures are able to be peeled and have a sticky back. This would also be a great camera to get a child who is interest in taking pictures.

Instant Fun . . with trade-offs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Canon IVY CLIQ - This is my idea of a party camera. It could be a nice incentive for school-aged kids to get social and share instant photos of their friends and other party goers. For the rest of us, it’s a very convenient instant camera that captures a moment or makes a permanent record, with the printed result in your hand . . . now. But, “instant” comes with a trade-off and you won’t be leaving your camera/phone home.. FRAME an image . . . CLICK . . . WAIT 30 seconds or so for a cute 2x2 or 3x3 PHOTO to pop out. Instant. Permanent. SETUP and USE: The photo paper loads as 10 sheet packages (a 10 sheet pack is in the box and costs approx. $10 for 20 sheets when you re-supply). You should have charged up the camera beforehand. There is NO need for ink . . . this is a special paper using technology that never needs ink. There is a microSD slot if you want to have digital backups for your computer — Just do it; trust me. [The CLIQ PLUS version of the camera adds Bluetooth connectivity and adds around $60 to the price if easier connectivity or backups are important to you.] With either version of the camera, you can also do reprints immediately after taking a picture using a top/rear button on the IVY CLIQ camera. There is a built in flash and an optical viewfinder to properly frame your pictures. I found it very easy to get an image that was always properly framed. Proper lighting was a bit trickier, but improved with experience PERFORMANCE: So, how did the pictures look? Nice and sharp, but my first close-up picture was a bit washed out. A little practice recognizing how much light on my subjects was ideal, and my pictures improved to a natural, colorful print. Sure, they were not as richly intense as I can accomplish with my newest Canon home printer, but that’s why I put a microSD card to print out those backups at home. According to Canon, this version of the IVY CLIQ has a 5-megapixel resolution, and at these small photo sizes, the prints are pretty and natural looking. The backing of the print can be peeled away to reveal adhesive, if you want to decorate stuff. RECOMMENDATIONS: I suppose you could think of this Canon Ivy CLIQ as a nostalgic throwback, with some updates. It is reminiscent of those instant cameras we first saw in the 1950s-60s. I like the idea of encouraging social interactions and creating instant memories while the party is still on. I think imaginative kids, especially, will find ways to capture their world, decorate their stuff, and explore artistic projects. I can recommend this camera, with the caveats I’ve noted.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered the camera when it was on sale for my daugher. We gave it to her as a Christmas gift and it does not work. Unfortunately, we purchased it months ago trying to get an early start on holiday shopping, so it is not within the window of return. We are very disappointed. She was so excited for this gift.

Fun Camera, esp. for Tweens
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't a bad camera. Its about as good as a cell phone camera from about 2 years ago, so the pictures are decent and the fact it prints 2x3 pictures on stickers made it super fun for my tween and friends. They giggle up a storm as they setup funny shots and used the sticky backs. Honestly watching them goof off made the camera worth and the print quality from the zink paper is quite good, I took a picture of my kids and shoved it in my wallet. Just note if you do give to a tween you will burn through the Zink paper like mad, but I didn't mind because they are all having fun with it and I am able to sneak a few cute pictures of my own. It does have a MicroSD card slot on the bottom to save the pictures to be transferred to a computer if you want as well. Overall this is a great camera. Is it something for professional use, no, but it's good for fast snaps of the family and just enjoy and have fun with something analog in a digital age.
