Great update to my old Canon Elph 300

I bought this camera for a family trip to Hawaii. It's very fast for it's size and price. I had been holding out replacing my Elph 300 given it's very small size, but this was worth the upgrade. It's bigger in the pocket but still fits comfortably

    Handy to have pocket camera!

This is a reliable, professional operating pocket camera with great resolution and focusing for shooting on-the-go. Battery has a shorter life than I could've used for steady shooting without recharge, but overall would buy it again. Plan on it meeting my needs for a long time. Canon still superior at reasonable price.

    I love this camera!

I bought the camera for a trip to Europe. It took amazing pictures inside the palaces and castles that did not allow flash photography. Connecting the camera to my phone through the camera's own wifi was a breeze. I was delighted that it doesn't require an Internet connection nor an NFC equipped phone. After installing the Canon Camera Connect App on my phone, each photo was tagged with the exact location. I am deducting one star because the flash doesn't automatically pop up and it is not possible to force the flash to come on for backlit photos.

My cell phone camera takes better pictures

The picture quality is terrible. Pictures are all grainy. I own an EOS 450D and an SX 30 IS. Bought this to be able to keep it in the pocket and the zoom it offered. Pictures were all grainy, indoor pictures looked like watercolor paintings. I contacted Canon Support and they offered a replacement. But the pictures looked the same. I was told by the Canon support that it is due to JPEG compression and the grainy pictures are normal. .. Seriously... ?? I will stick to my One Plus 3 camera as it offers better pictures as compared to this camera.

    SX620HS Bad cmos battery

Bought a month prior to vacation. Used for a week on vacation charging at night using during day. Each day the settings were gone requiring to be set up each day. Best buy was no help as I had the camera 31 days. Guy on phone at Canon could not understand simple issue. I had to spend $13 to send a new camera in for repair, to lose use of it for over a week.

    bad purchase

the canon powershot sx620hs could be one of the worst cameras ever made. i really hate it. it is a point and shoot but i was hoping for better results. there is no mode wheel so all of the settings are buried in the menu system. the settings are a joke anyway. there is some manual control in p mode but it doesnt help much. nothing you can do to make this camera usable. photos are dull, grainy and lifeless and that is in good light in superfine mode. if lighting isnt just right it becomes unbearable. same with videos. they are always grainy, dull and full of noise. there is nothing you can do about it. the 25x zoom is ok but it struggles to focus and becomes very shaky. it is what it is. avoid.

Big pain in the neck, have to do a mechanical action for the display to turn on every minute or less. Haven't found a way to turn off this function. Pic. wise maybe ok. Wish I had gotten a different camera>

    Worse than iPhone 6 Camera

You'd expect a camera created for the sole purpose of being a camera would be better than a phone camera but it's not. Pictures are blurry because of the poor aperture. And the wi-fi feature isn't that great because you have to connect your phone's wi-fi to the camera which means downloading photos use your cellular data.

I cannot believe that I just spent $249 on a camera that is NOT compatible with my iMac! There is nothing in the specs online that indicate this. Canon says "They are working on it." Back it goes!
