    I needed extra batteries especially when I have to take video recording periodically.I went with OEM batteries because I have found the 3rd party batteries don’t last as long, expand under use which makes it harder to remove from the camera, and possible safety issues with 3rd party batteries. OEM (canon branded in my case) batteries are the way to go.
