The lens to have with you at all times
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This new RF 50mm F1.8 is, in my opinion, a real success, and a remarkable evolution of the EF 50 mm 1.8 STM. Exceptional sharpness is present as soon as you down-stop 1f aperture, and presents remarkable quality for portrait photography when mounted on APS-C (canon R7, 80mm equivalent). At this price, it's a real bargain.

Good lens to start

At f1.8, image looks little soft, but after f2.2 it becomes quite sharp. The noise for AF is quite noticeable than I thought. Okay for photographing, but for recording video, this can be an issue.

Horrible focusing

Really disappointed
