The RF 50mm is sharper with a very fast auto focus that has passed my expectations that was set out for it to be!
For the price point of $200 its definitely the cheapest RF lens that anyone will get their hands on. super light like the EF version.

Great lense for Portraits. It produces a great bokeh effect to really capture your subject. It looks really well with my Eos r5 and is my main lense for portraits.

This lense is very good, it is specially good do record details up close for videos. Moreover it is very good for pictures and videos. It’s autofocus is also a very attractive feature of this product. The only thing that one could critique is that it has a 50 zoom and doesnt let you zoom out or zoom in. It is only 50 zoom, but taking into consideration it is one of the cheapest for $200 its not even a problem.

Best lense for portraits. I loved it and its really nice and sharp n very small. Loved using it in NYC but sometimes had difficulties taking building pictures considering its 50 mm other than that 50 MM produced some great sharp, great portraits. Nice anr crisp bokeh on my RP.

Nice nifty fifty to have in the bag for selection of lens choice. I have been mirrorless for a while now, using an adapter to use all of my current EF lens. Wanted to start off small with this lens to see quality in difference without that adapter. It does good for a little prime lens!

This a lean, mean 50mm! It's sooo tiny, I can always bring it along any time. 1.8 means gorgeous shots, I don't know why you wouldn't have this as a staple prime.

Nice bokeh and sharpness for the money. In some areas, this seems to be on par with the 1.2 50mm. Obviously not going to be similar on all aspects, considering this lens is about a 10th of the price, but it’s still a great lens.

I’ll first say if you’re questioning the purchase of this lense - just buy it. For the price it’s the perfect and necessary addition to your kit. My only issue is The focal plane on this lense vs my original nifty fifty seems a lot more narrow when shooting large aperture. This was a known issue before purchasing but it takes a little more getting use to than I was expecting. Slightest movement wide open will yield in off focus on specific areas you want. Overall it’s a great lense and once you get use to the focus wide open it’s the perfect lense. Once you start getting into f2.8 and smaller that issue doesn’t seem to exist as bad.

The nifty fifty is the best cheap prime lens for portraits. Not as good as an L-series f/1.2 of course, but so much cheaper and more portable. This is a must-have for any casual shooter or hobbyist using a Canon R-series mirrorless camera.

THE BEST !! lens. Honestly, this is cheapest and best for portrait photography. Since it’s lightweight , you can take it along with you anywhere. I would highly recommend it.
