After seeing all the reviews on this camera, I had to have it and check it out for myself. I recently had just purchased a standard definition hard drive based camera by Sony and was loving it, but after seeing my friends HD camera footage, I started to think about upgrading again! Along came the Canon HF100 just in time and boy am I amazed with the quality! It's simply stunning. I have a HD television and a PS3 to watch the hi-def videos this camera makes and I'm blown away. Every little detail is crystal clear, especially outdoor shooting. The indoor shooting was nice as well. Even in low light, I found the quality to be very impressive. The camera size is also great. It fits in the palm of your hand with ease and is very easy to navigate. My only concern before I bought this camera was being able to edit my movies. I'm a PC guy and what I have found to work great for me has been Ulead Video Studio 11. It will take the .mts files directly and allow you to convert them to any format you want. I like to use Sony Vegas 7 for that, but Ulead Video Studio 11 does a great job as well. With my Pentium 4 3.0 ghz and 4gb of ram, I haven't ran into any problems. In conclusion, I cannot see myself upgrading again for a very long time. This camera does exceeds all of my expectations and I'm very hard to please at times!
